I feel that. It’s starting to just get old to me. It’s going to be that way all year with the best 3 starters. So many problems with this game.

They need to patch it so energy regenerates much more slowly. It should take at least 4 games to be back at full strength.

4 games for sure, and should be zero energy regen if people don't complete a full game.

I bet they will adjust the energy for rotation and bullpen on a patch at some point. It's out of whack a bit. If a starter throws 80 or more, he should be at or near 0 after the game and take 4 games to fully recharge. Pen too

I'd like to see confidence effected too, if my starter gets roughed up, his next start he should have lower confidence that can be built up by having a QS. Im probably alone on that thinking but I think it would be an interesting dynamic that would add some thought to picking your starter and pitching in general.

I agree it should take 4 games to regenerate if they pitch their max. But it should never take more than 4 games to regenerate bc then you would need like a 6 man rotation. But I agree it’s so annoying facing Oswalt every single game

I faced 4 starters the other game, Kluber, Newhouser, othani and Oswalt. So much fun and so realistic.

I guess I’m different, I have kluber, oswalt, degrom, maddux and prior. I use them all and only use my bullpen. I guess I’m just not that hard pressed to win at all cost

it should be a 5 man rotation that gets locked for 5 games. after 5 you can change your rotation again the way its done now its as if we are playing game 7 of the WS every game

Well, we kind of are doing that. When your sitting at 895 in ranked and you need that win to make WS, you should be able to use your entire roster, in whatever way possible, to pursue the win.

With that said, I don’t think I have once used a starter out of the pen, but I like having that option. Furthermore, in my experience, it has taken four games to get to full strength.

I think a lot of people must be throwing starters out there that aren’t fully energized. I don’t do that.

Edit: Actually, I have used a starter out of the pen once.

sure you can use anyone in your roster but it only takes 3 games to be back in full energy so in reality, all you need is a 3 man rotation and your 4 & 5 are long pen options this is an issue. Either it should be you have to use your 1-5 in order or energy must be lowered. Right now guys can run there starter for 4 bring in another for 2 another for 2 and a bullpen piece for 1. Then the 2 starters that went 2 innings in the previous game are good to go in the next game

I think people will use starters out of the pen less frequently once we get better bullpen arms. Right now, a lot of people’s’ most reliable pitchers are starters. I know I don’t have many relief pitchers I trust.

Yep. There's only a couple relievers I'm comfortable with right now... Nick Anderson, Kerry Wood & Osuna. Pitch like [censored] with most others, including Mo Rivera.

I haven't bought the game this year (yet?) because of all of the issues people are posting. Are you telling me that you can now put starters in as relievers?

It was a good idea by SDS but of course people have to exploit.

Here's my solution. Allow us to put one starting pitcher in the bullpen before the game. Let it be a max 84 overall. Do not let us hit R1 and have access to our whole starting rotation. problem solved.

My Rockies tried using a four man rotation a few years ago...did not work out too well, but it was a legitimate MLB strategy.

Long relievers like Charlie Morton (Classics Pack) will be very useful. Pairing him with a # 5starter as a long reliever is not a horrible way to go.

We just need to adjust the way we think about game. In years past we were rewarded for pushing a starter as far into the game as we could. This year we we'll get more mileage if we are quicker with the hook and rely more heavily on our bullpen arms. This is what will keep the starting four well rested.
