@Sigma4Life said in SDS PLEASE GO BACK TO PRE PATCH:
Hitting was too easy before. It‘s more balanced now. Hate to be THAT guy, but perhaps y’all need to learn to hit better. SDS made the change because batting averages across the board were too high. Y’all just happen to not be as good of hitters as the average player apparently.
People like you are the problem. It's obviously broken since week 1 and your telling people they need to get better. Hitting felt easy because everyone was playing on Veteran. I was hitting around .500 in my first 10 games or so. Now that I'm on legend the pci is sooooooo small and pitch speeds are ridiculous. HOF plays harder than Legend did last year. I can't wait for people who are saying hitting is "still fine" to play on at least HOF. I honestly doubt anyone who is good at this game thinks hitting is good. The user input is pointless now and its back to lineouts like 19. Literally feels like the same game now. Good ole bait and switch by SDS like always.
At first I liked it, but I’ve realized I was completely wrong with new changes. Facing kluber over and over again is getting old. Once you get someone else on the mound against you and start hitting balls and scoring, here comes kluber out the pen. That card is just to OP for this point of the game on HOF+. That sinker isn’t 94 mph. Hopefully it all evens out as the year goes on.

If anything, I wouldn't necessarily call it a lie. I would call it incompetence, because I'm pretty sure the developers think they did actually fix the issues.
I’m usually not this harsh, but whoever is testing and making these patches shouldn’t have that job. This isn’t the first patch that claimed things are fixed and they aren’t. To me, it seems like a lie.
This game sucks. That’s it. They broke it after launch like always. It’s so pitcher dominant on HOF+. It’s either kluber or Oswalt every game pretty much. Content this year has been sub par for me at least. The WS reward I got was useless besides the stubs. I hate to be so negative, but everyone on here knows the gameplay is trash. From hitting to fielding to pitching, it’s all a dumpster fire. The only offense is HRs, which makes the games so boring to play now. Idk, I just hope they can put it back together, but with everything going on in the world I doubt it happens. This game needs more than “slight” changes to anything.
Stop wasting your stubs on gambling. Just buy the cards you want. Packs are gambling. Stop coming on here and complaining about your pack luck like you deserve better. There are real problems with this game, and it’s not packs.
They were so limited no one could even buy them hardly. Wack move by SDS. Especially in a time like now. Most people lost stubs anyway. Your not missing anything.
I’ll gladly take my W and move on.

"We all know it picks and chooses who to reward for the most part." Lol c'mon now

Lol c'mon now
I mean it’s basically true. What’s your explanation for all the good/okays that weakly fly into center field while my early/okays leave the yard? I gave up a very early/okay HR last night and lost in the bottom half of the 9th with a perfect fly ball out. I had better user input than the other guy, except the game chose to reward him. It goes both ways. Sometimes I’m the one rewarded, sometimes I’m not.
Been saying this all day. Makes zero sense to me. What a reward... lol
And please SDS please take no advice from anything on a 2k game. Worst developers in the game right now. They are right in front of EA sports. Both TRASH companies

Fielding is absolutely worse post patch. I won three games last night because of fielding errors, I felt bad for my opponent. It is what it is. Stop buying packs, stop giving them money, and maybe it will act as a motivation for them to fix the game. But, we all know you won't. You will keep spending money on packs, and nothing will change. So, blame the community

Meanwhile, in showdown yordon Alvarez is climbing the 25 ft wall in Minute Maid to rob me of a homerun. If only my fielders played half as well as the showdown AI supposedly on veteran. I’m with you on the no packs/money anymore. Even though I’m already fairly deep into since I have mantle.

But to build a whole new game from scratch would costs lot of money, They clearly dont feel they would get enough sales to justify it. SDS has the advantage of 15 years of reiteration, for better or worse.

Back to this topic, I feel like gaming companies are sleeping on a big opportunity here. Video games aren’t going anywhere for the foreseeable future, and SDS is failing imo at putting together a decently realistic game the last few years. Similar to madden and EA, they have lost touch with building a game first and content second. I get it, the content brings in all the money, but the gameplay has been lacking for years now.

I never gave up an inside the parker last year this year im up to 5 already in online gameplay because of balls ricocheting off the wall my guy will be where the balls supposed to go after hitting the wall and he wont react causing another outfielder to come over and pick the ball up every single time never had this problem once last year and i played over 700 ranked games

I was literally thinking the same the other day. I don’t think before this year I’ve ever given up on inside the Parker. This year I’ve given up a few because my OF just stands next to the ball and refused to pick it up.

@maskedgrappler said in Why lie SDS?: @VEGAS__T said in Why lie SDS?: Do they release a beta version that they allow the public to test before they release the game? I know fifa puts out a beta test version that members of the community can play which allows them to fix the bugs prior to release. I’ve never seen MLB The Show Beta version or any of my friends playing one... They do a private beta usually in December or January. Nothing public as far as I know, but if you played last year's game it's easy to get into. Must be super private because I’ve played the show every year for as long as I can remember. I play everyday, I’m linked to their twitch stream, I post here often but I’ve never been invited to beta test. I use to love doing that on fifa and giving them tons of feedback.

They let everyone play the beta this year I think. They first said it was invite only, but I’m pretty sure everyone ended up being invited
The reason nobody else makes baseball games is they dont see enough return on investment. EA as much as said that's why they dont.
EA can stay far away. I’ve hated their products for years now. I don’t get the profit part though. SDS recreates mostly the same cards an resells them every year. A virtual card created from code has to be very profitable

It is completely impossible for any game company to play test as much as hundreds of thousands of users can (unless that game company had hired hundreds of thousands of play testers who didn't do artwork, didn't do programming, all they did was play out every single scenario and its permutations over and over again). As far as earlier versions playing better now, of course they did, because they had the full cycle of patches. We're also in an environment where, due to social distancing, it is much harder to coordinate activities. Sure, some people work fully remote and some work part of the time, but it's still harder to accomplish some things in a teleconference than it is in person. Of course, if you think you can do better, you're free to code up your own baseball game

I don’t think it’s that easy. There has to be a reason no one else makes mlb games like the show. I get that they are “social distancing”, but don’t say you fixed something that you didn’t. Be transparent with the people spending their hard earned money instead of misleading everyone patch after patch.
@maskedgrappler said in fielding is still wild:
There's still issues to be sure, but you guys are acting like outfielders are missing routine fly balls every single inning.
I’ve had one miss a routine fly ball my last 3 or 4 games now. That shouldn’t happen ever. I get it with trash fielders, but 99 mantle missed a routine play for me last night. Trout took one to the face the game before. It’s atrocious
@ChicagoCableGod said in Why lie SDS?:
How long has DD been incorporated into MLB the show? How long has MLB the show been around? Yet we’re still having reoccurring issues? So until a new Baseball game is made to compete with MLB the show we will all have to just embrace this [censored] of a gameplay.
I honestly prefer 19 now. At least fielding and pitching felt playable. The lineouts sucked, but honestly I’m getting just as many now ever since they nerfed hitting after the first weekend. This is the worst fielding has ever been to my memory.
Fielding is worse post patch. New problems have popped up for me. Guys over running balls now. This game will be dead in a couple months if they don’t fix this stuff.
