I knew as soon as I read the title, without looking at the author, who this post was created by.

The game doesn't tell you the location of the person you're playing, so how would you even know if you're getting matched up against people 1,000 miles away? Your opponent could just as easily be someone minutes away with a lousy internet connection.

It is a miserable experience. I don't know what genius in the SDS company thought this was a good idea. I might as well lay the ball on a [censored] tee to these people.
I'm curious which part of the states you live in. midwest?

He probably bases it on the name of the city his opponent is using in their team name which tells you nothing as I’ve used Baltimore, San Diego, Initech, and British Columbia while living in Pennsylvania.

Location has nothing to do with it.
I match with US and Korea players all the time and have zero issues.

My team name is Chattanooga but I'm actually 1005.2 miles away from there, so if someone matched me and thought I was 1000 miles away, it's possible we were actually next door neighbours. Or, potentially, 2000 miles away from each other.

I can't [censored] wait for battlefield.

Manually set your dns to the Google public server or the 1.1.1.1 DNS…which is supposedly the fastest, but the Google one has some extra feature that would help for gaming.
