I will not be switching to Madden
-
Since everyone is posting about their Madden intentions, I am just here to say that I will not be switching. I will play inning 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. I will finish TA4, 5, 6.... I will attempt Extreme. I will collect whatever collections remain. I will continue to happily flail at high sinkers and 102 fastballs.
I'm sure you're all relieved to know what it is that I will or will not be doing for the rest of this game cycle. You're welcome.

Yeah, I think there's a correlation with the people who think it's important to distinguish whether or not they'll ditch this game for Madden and people who still need to ask for permission to eat a pop tart. I wish there was an age verification to use these forums.

I find it amusing how hard it is for the community to wrap their brains around the fact that there are plenty of people out there who love both baseball and football, and don't feel the need to lock themselves into a childish fanboy war where they must choose one or the other. I'd be willing to bet that if you examined the player bases of the two games, you'd find a significant amount of overlap with many players putting a ton of time into both. I'm thinking of buying madden, but I have no intention of leaving this game anytime soon. It doesn't have to be either or.

Well, high sinkers, changeups and curveballs will be nerfed this morning, good news my man

Same here, but some days when my opponent fouls off nine balls on bad swings and I ground out to shortstop if I’m not perfect perfect the thought crossed my mind of giving Madden a shot again.

Who switches to Madden? It's been like 8 years since I last bought Madden and I use to buy them every year. Now that game is for pros only. You can't compete with 90% of the players there. Cost a leg and arm to build a competitive team there. SDS has issues but at least they give us free cards that are somewhat decent most of the time. I think the majority of Xbox players who got the game on gamepass will switch to Madden when it comes out. Those who have been playing the show before on PS and switched to Xbox this time will stay. The show is the only sports game I play constantly over the past 4-5 years. Bye feclia!

When Ultimate Team, My Team, Diamond Dynasty etc. See the revenues fall, sports games will get better. So my advice is don’t hold your breath, too many whales out there.

It's the same garage with the console wars it's a made up thing by fanboys.
I am willing to bet that members of SDS even play Madden in their down time.
It's gaming you play what you want to play to enjoy and relax. If that's MLB great, if that's Madden great, if it's Lego Star Wars even better.
Point is play what you want and enjoy it and try not to [censored] in other people's corn flakes please

I will also not be switching to madden. Madden 21 had a .3 user score which was the lowest in history for any game I believe. Madden is completely braindead.
-
Im at the point that if someone were to give me a free copy of madden I wouldnt play it. Been 5 years now since being madden free. What a ride but man, really worth my sanity in the end.
-
I used to be a diehard sim Madden guy . Quit around 6 years ago I think . Got so sick of the same bs every year and it became more arcade as time went on. My favorite was when they would take a feature out then bring it back in and call it new. F that game.
Go Raiders ! Lol...

It seems to me that SDS foreseeing the wave of Madden players leaving MLB for new rosters and a wish and a prayer of better gameplay in Madden is cutting prices on Stubs thru the 18th to rival that surge is opting for a viable alternative. Good move by SDS. Give SDS their just due, better content better sales of coins/stubs and a fairly reliable game. However, that being said, had SDS NOT nerfed the contact swing and kept things status quo the ship jumping wouldn't even have even entered MLB player's minds, at least not my own. Madden was a dead horse not even worth beating after the debacle Madden 21 was yet SDS opened a door needlessly with the anti contact swing update and the swell of folks leaving percentage wise went up exponentially. Instead MLB became just another Madden game by introducing the nerfed hitting, stale gameplay and domination of AI CPU locked animations and cheats. Perhaps they just got lazy? Up until the contact swing update degrading of the game I was ready to forego Madden 22, This would have been my first No Madden year since Madden 97! But as a sports fan who loves baseball and football on equal footing the lure of Madden 22 pre order overwhelmed my self control or lack thereof and I am destined to play BOTH games in the near future. You can after all have the best of both worlds without all the fanboy antics known to such forums as this. Let's just say, if SDS ever introduces SpongeBob into ti's game they will have lost a broader audience who believe a mature sports simulation game is what drives their fanbase, ........ EA devs are not wise enough to make such evaluations about locking into serious fan bases. We debate the good and not so good between the games here because we take our buying & playing the game seriously. Perhaps lighten up on the fanboy expressions and give others credit, many of us LOVE both sports and are genuinely torn between which is to be the dominant game we invest in as September arrives. You make your choice and let others make their own choices based on personal likes and dislikes and personal choice. After all these are just sports video games not your best friend ditching your sister for the other pretty girl because she has big B**Bs LOL AND NHL 22 & NBA 2K comes soon after Madden releases thus again riling the fanboys ire hahahahahahahaha

I play all 4 majors, but skipped Maddens '20 & '21. NHL is my main and one I play all year around.
My Bucs won the SB, so I'm tempted to end my Madden boycott, but mainly for the trophies/achievements. I just don't want to shell out $70 for about 3 weeks of playing a game I'll be kicking myself for buying! -
I never played the game this far into the year, I am learning something new right now about the community.
So, is a thing huh? A forum of mostly grown-men playing Twilight over Madden and MLB TS. Weird...
I am interested to see what improvements are made for Next Gen to Madden, but I am not holding my breath that Madden's defense nor run-blocking awareness will improv. Maybe it's because I coach/played football and not baseball, but I can deal with the bunt dance and weird stupid [censored] people attempt in MLB TS
I'll never get-over Zone defenders not actually defending guys within their zones and transitioning their man to the next zone defender (like it was in NCAA Football). I have also grown tired of not being able to change blocking schemes when dudes try to stop ISO by lining up in double 2s and other terrible alignments that only work because of bad AI awareness.
Time will tell, I'll be playing both -- probably team play with my brothers. I do imagine that I'll lean more towards MLB TS or just take a sports-game break from November-March. When do they stop creating content for the game?

Lol. Make sure you keep everyone updated weekly with your progress. The only reason people come to these forums to to see what you are doing in the game.

Madden is the only one that offers a truly immersive (vastly improved this year and but still a long way to go) online franchise option. It offers me a great break from the win at all cost mindset of ultimate team.
There is no question that content and gameplay of the show are better than Madden but the show is stale and boring af right now. The changes to high sinkers, change ups, and curve balls will do nothing to alleviate that boredom for me. There's a problem with the game when people stop playing a game mode once they reach X difficulty. Reaching X difficulty should encourage people to keep pushing but not in the show lol

Wait so you think being able to “contact swing” and hit BOMBS regularly was a realistic/good thing?? What’s the point of having normal or power swing in that case? Why not just have one swing. There was absolutely no upside in using power or normal before they nerfed it and that’s ridiculous. A contact swing is supposed to be a compact swing that you use when behind in the count to decrease the likelihood of striking out. Thus the trade off in power. I heard wayyyyyy more people complaining about it being overpowered and you’re the first I’ve seen that didn’t want it nerfed so I’m not so sure you’re correct in assuming there will be an exodus due to that update. It was a very cheap way to play the game and I say good riddance.

Well, I can't say that I will play all the remaining innings but I sure as hell won't be playing Madden. I tanked to 450 and couldn't hit DeGrom yet again last night (love the laggy, warping [censored]) although just several weeks I put up 10 in 1 2/3 inning on HOF. If the lag and bad connections continue like this, I will just move to PUBG or watch TV and movies.

Madden isnt good anymore. 2K worth playing though.
All the sports games have gameplay issues but madden is bad in the whole mut mode setup. Solos, packs, sets. Thats it. That’s mut.

For real? Any idea how they will be nerfed? Interested to see.
