The game caps at 120 fps on the PS5 and Xbox Series X. It caps at 60 for the older consoles.

MLB The Show 21 doesn't support 120hz(fps) on any console.

The maximum on any platform is 60hz(fps).

no way this is what you decide to comment on when RTTS progression is still broken and people are missing stubs/wins/cards. Have yet to acknowledge that the update still left things broken smh

He was responding to the post. This thread has no mention of RTTS progression or missing anything. They have responded plenty in other threads about those issues. I’m sure they are working on as much as they can, no need to be a [censored].

They actually havent said anything whatsoever about the new issues that the most recent patch caused. which are way more pressing than FPS. hence why its so asinine that they ignore every other post and comment on BS like this

Yes I'm dying to know how many FPS we are getting on last gen. During pre pitch with light on and with lights off, also minor league parks compared to MLB or Created parks.

I bought a VG328H1B 32 "monitor recently. Now it advertises 165hz refresh but when I play the show 20 it stays at 60 FPS. Is this just the cap of the Show or am I not optimizing something on the monitor for the ps5? I have performance mode turned on. I also am using an hdmi 2.1 cable.

30 current gen, 60 next gen

This is not correct for the Xbox Series X I can turn on my LG C1 OLED Freesync Information overlay and it clearly shows the game FPS running with VRR on between about 80 to 118.68Hz consistently. Once in a while for a fraction of a second it will drop into 70s. It’s definitely not capped at 60hz on the XBSX.

Mine as well. I have xbox series S and tcl 6 series and my tv overlay shows 120hz and slight dips below.

Interesting. VRR might have slipped through the cracks.

    is there a big difference with 60 & 100Hz? I've always played on 30 and now 60.

30 FPS is fine for games without al lot of movement requiring quick reaction. You should see 60fps give you a much smoother experience. Over 60 you should see this even more. Personally I can’t tell much of a difference once it hits 100 to 120 or 144hz on my PC. But I’m not a competitive FPS player, they all seem to swear by the higher FPS. As long as I’m around 70 - 80+ FPS in action based games, I prefer details over getting higher framerate.

I can say with this game once I upgraded from my older non VRR LG E7 OLED to the VRR capabilities of the C1, batting seemed smoother with the synced framerate.

Interesting. I definitely meant hz, not fps. That was my mistake.

I play the Show at 120hz/60fps on the Series X on a monitor with a VRR. Previously played at 60hz/30fps on an Xbox One early this summer.

If you have your system set to 120Hz in the main settings, the Series X will output a 120 signal to the tv by duplicating each frame of a 60fps game. The tv will read it as 120, but the game itself isn’t running at 120. You do get the latency benefits of 120 fps on the tv, so the C1 input lag is just under 5ms.

This thread has become very interesting as of today @Collin_SDS_PSN since y'all wont allow PS players to connect to online games when VRR is enabled (yet???). Could you clarify? Many of us are wondering and some communication would be very welcome.
