I'm fine with bringing back balks, but this is pretty much the best solution outside of that.
Maybe something along the lines of pitcher gets the ball and comes set automatically, and only once that motion is done can the pitcher throw. It'd annoy plenty of people, but I'm tired of getting a runner on base and having 12 pitches thrown at me in the following 20 seconds.

Do I like it no. However this year there is a little symbol that shows up. Pay attention and it won't be like previous years.
This. I dont ever use R2 myself, but most of my opponents have been using, (abusing) it so far. But because of the symbol it is a non issue for me using PP pitching. But I also dont pitch like I am on crackle or meph. If you know what I mean. I am sure those guys might struggle with it but it is on them.

You’ll do anything to gain an advantage dude. Just practice. Holding R2 is absolutely an exploit. It’s a known exploit. You aren’t trying to stop a quick pitch you are trying to exploit.

It’s not as simple as just waiting for your opponent to let go. Sometimes you can’t even step off. The players that are using this as an exploit are not just going to let go of R2 when they are done looking at previous pitches and confidence, etc.
I agree with the idea of the pitcher coming set animation.
The guys that are saying quick pitching is not a problem are the guys using constant slide steps and Kenley Jansen glitch.

This is why nothing gets fixed lol to much arguing like women with no solutions. I put fourth a solution (You only get one chance to use R2 per pitch) I belive you can press it 5 times... So this would benefit the people who say “your not going to quick pitch me” and the R2 exploit crowd once you see the first use of R2 your in the clear. But no we will just argue like women.

I don't mind if you hold it down in the same way every pitch to let your opponent know to slow it down a bit. But the majority of people I play, they try to figure out your rhythm and then quickly press R2 to mess up your pinpoint pitching which they hope will result in a pitch down the middle. Which sometimes happens. Its blatantly obvious when people are doing this. And when you tell them, they use the same excuse of "don't quick pitch me", while that wasn't even happening. I'm not saying you do it with this intent as well, but I tend to urge people to just not do it at all.

To be fair, some of the blame for this lies squarely on the shoulders of SDS. I mean, why make it possible to glitch a pitcher’s animation so that he not only doesn’t come set, but somehow can throw the ball to the plate without lifting his leg.
Sure, the slidestep is a real thing but you could watch a game on mlb.tv every day this week and not see a pitcher use one. Pitch outs are extremely rare as well.
So on the one hand, the game is right on top of new developments in baseball with extra inning rule and three batter minimums. On the other, we still have archaic practices like slidesteps and pitch outs in use all the time in game, and pitchers balking on every pitch. Oh and all you tryhards defending quick pitching when really you are just defending your exploits.

That’s why I said I’m ok with a 5 second timer in between pitches. I hold it down the same way every time. I have it held before my batter is even up to plate just to make sure you can’t quick pitch me. By the way, balks need to be back in the game. It’s absolutely absurd that they would remove balks, it’s a rule in baseball.
