The dash boarding when playing online? I lost a 3 run HR with Jimmy Rollins last night because my opponent dashboards me while the ball is still in the air. That HR would’ve finished my prestige for Rollins. This seems to happen a lot while playing ranked & events. Is there anyway SDS can stop this or at least allow our stats to count?

Sure they can, by not making the prestige grind online only.

No it isn't logistically possible, ppl r trash unfortunately

You will never stop dashboarding in this game, the community gets more and more toxic every year. But they could avoid this situation all together by allowing people to do the prestige grind offline. You just double the stats required like they do for the team affinity innings.

How is SDS supposed to differentiate a dashboard attempt from a legitimate disconnect?

Congratulations on learning one of life's great lessons: people stink.

Eh. They can make the opposing team be taken over by the cpu to finish out the game...

Just have the game finish out the play once the person either dc or dashboard. Don't think that would be too tough

Probably tougher than you think. Plus it wouldnt "solve" anything because you would then be playing the CPU, so online stats wouldnt count.

Actually, other that The Road, I don't think I've ever seen a movie that outshined it's book companion.

A Clockwork Orange and The Shawshank Redemption come to mind. Both books were good (or novella, in the case of Shawshank), but the films were great. Mario Puzo’s “The Godfather” was also not the most exciting thing to read.

I couldn't get past the first page of 'The Road' book.

Cormac McCarthy isn't for everyone, for sure.

Yeah I meant the play, not the whole game.

The easiest option would just be for SDS to subcontract a few million personal security guards who would stand watch over your console and controller.

I just watched the hunger games, so maybe they could do something like that. I'm not sure how it would work, but people would die.

On a serious note: If you liked the movies; read the books. They are WAY better.

I actually am reading the books one at a time and watching the movies in between. The first movie was OK, I guess, but I really don't think I would have been able to follow along all had I not read the book.

I read the books before the movies came out and I was very disappointed in the movies.

It was the same way with the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.

Not movies, but Band of Brothers (because it provided more depth and character) and possibly even Game of Thrones (simply because it was way less complex with way less characters) were excellent versions and (IMO) preferred over the books. If you’ve not seen or read either, I’d recommend both.

Also maybe Psycho... although it’s been 24 years since I read it so I can’t really remember the book but the movie is one of the greatest. Oh and Dracula - Bram Stoker’s Dracula from 92 is 100x better than the book which I loved when I read it back when I was 12 but reading it again a few years ago was just tedious.

I this isn’t fixed this years it’s pretty sad.

MLB 17 and Griffey was bad enough, but 4 years later people are still backing out more than they finish.

EA counters this with a rewards multiplier that gives you less and less coins every game you quit. If you quit once or DC you lose less than a percentage and is irrelevant, if you quit hundreds and hundreds of times griefing the entire community all year you lose a significant amount of the coins you earn until you learn how to play like a normal person.

How is this hard to implement on post game rewards? Less stubs, less XP, less chances at diamonds/golds/silvers, less quitters, less annoyance, more people unlocking 99 Griffey and prestige cards.

Or just go the GTA route and “reward good behaviour” for people that haven’t quit half there games all year? If someone hasn’t quit a game all week and played 50 games give them 10,000 XP, or 2 show packs, or one show pack, literally anything, just don’t do absolutely nothing for 4 years and pretend it’s going away when it’s getting worse and your adding more opportunities to grief.

I wouldn't have a problem with the offline crowd having that option.

No Country For Old Men was a good read. And Blood Meridian is weird and grimy and unfathomably violent, but worthwhile.

It’s definitely possible...The old MLB 2K games used to have the cpu take over & finish the games when people would dashboard back in the day. So the technology is definitely there.

Ideally they would let the play finish out....count stats up to that point and give the L to the quitter/DC person and the dub to the other player.

Gets you credit for the HR/Runs/RBI or whatever for any mission you're working on and still resolves the game as expected. I'm not well versed in the technical aspects about keeping a game running after a disconnect/connection error or issue but I'd think there would be a way to manage it.
