Do you get a 99 card for pre-ordering?
-
There's always been an instant 99 reward for pre-ordering, is there one this time?
-
nah. we already have a 99 tatis and a 99 jackie
-
Because it's always been a platform exclusive ... until now.
You can't give a pre-order card this year b/c XBox people would get scr**wed on the deal.

I'm not really sure I follow the logic here. I assume you mean because they would not be able to use the 99 in the previous years game leading up to launch. How would that be any different from someone pre-ordering 20 last year if they hadn't bought 19? In both instances they just wouldn't be able to use the free 99 card in the older game since they didn't purchase it.
Am I missing something?

In your example, a 20 user could easily go back and get 19. At a very deep discount, I might add.
How is the XBOX user gonna get a working copy of 20 on their machines? Go ahead, I'll wait....

Besides, xbox users are new. Playstation players have been loyal customers for years and have always gotten a 99 card for pre-ordering.

Not in 2016. For pre-ordering, we got a weak-a** Griffey to use in the following year.

That weak [censored] griffey got us a 99 OVR Griffey a month early.

Only if you accomplished all the online missions, which I never did.
I love how kids today complain about certain cards being behind paywalls. YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA!!!

Maybe you didn't mean it this way, but that seemed like a smug reply attached to a pretty stupid answer. Xbox users obviously can't purchase a soon to be obsolete annual baseball game IN FEBRUARY just to use a pre-order card for 2 months leading up to the game they actually want. So...I guess you got me?
Your argument off of my example was that a 20 user could have easily gone back and purchased 19. Okay. How many Playstation users that skipped 19 do you think purchased it a month or two before the launch of 20 (while also purchasing 20) JUST to use Baez in 19. Go ahead, I'll wait.
From a pure value standpoint, sure, Xbox users would miss out on that one card that would literally mean nothing to them.
You would have a better argument (and would be correct) if a special card could be used in 21 after you purchased 20 since that would actually put Xbox users at an incredibly small disadvantage over Playstation players in the new game. But being screwed because of not getting a card in 20? Do you not feel that is just a tad overdramatic?I'm fine with them not having the same promotion as last year (I honestly don't care) but that would be a stupid reason for not doing it.

We have so many cards this year. Card content is FAR FROM LACKING.
I'm neither surprised, nor disappointed. I'm fine with early access for both consoles. That's enough cookie for me.

Probable? Certainly not.
Likely? Not in a million years.
But possible. With Bill Gates's Demon machine, it's literally impossible. That's my point.

I get it but the card likely wouldn’t be usable compared to the ones we already have. At best it is a decent bench bar or on par with the others already in the game so I dont really care if we do or don’t get one.
