And multi-millionaires. Do you even have a dollar invested in the stock market?

I'm sure it's great to have a million stubs but all you can buy with that is virtual baseball cards. A million in the stock market and you're set for retirement.

Nah, no money spent. Just the time spent in the market. Fortunately I like playing the market.

Bro, I said stock market. Like the real U.S. stock market. The dow jones, the s and p, nasdaq. Do you even have a dollar invested?

While the markets are similar on a base level, there’s way more to think about with the actual stock markets vs mlb the show.

My bad. Nope, not a penny other than my retirement fund. I'd rather gamble with fake money, than real.

They might be similar but in no way do they translate with each other. DD and MUT are all about supply and demand. You can determine demand based on rarity and stats and what other cards can compete with the card in question. The stock market does not operate like that. Supply and demand dictate price but what determines that supply and demand is different. Imagine having a DD card whose attributes are constantly changing. There would be no possible way to predict future prices., gains or loses. You can also set the profit margin on a DD card by simply looking at the buy and sell orders and subtracting 10 percent. I have money invested but in the real market but the stock market is really about long term growth. DD is based on the different innings which last less than a month.

Do they give away money/gifts just for playing that too?!?! Cause if so then just by playing (regardless of win or lose) you can make money!!!

The show market vs the stock market is the equivalent of pre-K arithmetic vs advanced calculus.

You wouldn't want to flip stocks like virtual baseball cards. Day trading is risky.

I'm not trying to compare the show market to the stock market.

I'm trying to see if people who have a million stubs here have any money at all in the real stock market. I have a feeling they probably don't.

why not. I'm curious. I wonder if people that spend hours in a fake market spend any time at all in a real market that makes real money. It would behoove them to do so.

Risk of loss of real dollars in The Show Market: 0%.
Risk of loss of real dollars in NYSE/NASDAQ/etc: substantially more.

That's like comparing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to Lloyd Cushenberry III of the Broncos because they both play at the Center position.

Exactly, I don't make an income right now where I can experiment with the stock market. I'd love to some day, but not now. Honestly OP is probably jealous of people who have millions of stubs, so he's passively aggressively posting about how they could be doing something else with their life.

My wife and I make enough between us. I won't ever get my Ferrari, but we're happy, and that's what matters to us. One of my philosophies in life is you can always make another buck, but you can't buy one more second of time. So I'd rather make less and have more free time, than try to break the bank. To each their own though.
