Toxic h2h opponents?
-
This is my first year playing. I dont play alot of online but today I received my first nasty message. The guy was too lazy or ignorant to even type it so he sent an audio one. My question is, is this the norm for this community? Madden is toxic so I usually turn off messaging. However, I met some really good people by keeping messaging open for the Show. What is the verdict? Do I just need to turn off messaging?

To be assured you don’t get those kind of messages, then sure.

Dude it's rare, but the guys who send voice messages crack me up. Usually, they are out of breath for some reason, breathing heavy into the mic saying [censored] like, "bet you wished you took that friendly quit," or "bro help me prestige Belli"
-
For me, the good out weighs the bad with messaging. I like the friendly messages and also when someone gets on being toxic. It actually makes it fun for me. I never initiate it, but if someone wants to talk [censored], I have a good time with it

Honestly, this game is so much better than Madden or 2k for BS. Sure you’ll get bunt danced every once in a while, but honestly the nasty messages are rare. At least in my experiences. 2k is the worst by far IMO. The garbage and ignorance in that game makes it unplayable. And that’s sad cuz it’s such a good game. But ya just can’t play online without putting up with an insane amount of ignorance.

I just feel like in general more people who play the Show are just casual gamers. And even the die hards are willing to help others out. For the most part this forum is positive.
The funny part is I won, 1-0. I had 7 hits, he had 2 but the message was all about me sucking at hitting. I know I suck at hitting thats why I don't play online. Lol -
Love the hatemail

I’ve run into a lot of toxic players lately. It seems like them and the bashers are the only ones left playing

I love getting nasty message. I reply, “Good game, enjoy your break”....hit the report button, and it is one last jacka** online player for at least 30 days....

I do this as well.

I played a guy a few weeks ago that was bunt dancing, holding R2 and replaying homeruns and asked me why I took so long in between pitches. He said I was being toxic

I have my settings to private where only friends and accepted messages come through. 1 guy sent me “git gud” when I quit a BR game going down 7-0 in the first inning. And another guy tried sending me a message but I didn’t even open it I just deleted it. I blew the game wide open and he rage quit and messaged me something nasty I’m sure. Community is toxic for sure tho

I turned my messaging off a while ago, the toxic stuff didn't bother me as much as people constantly asking for boosting help during events. It was making the game difficult to enjoy. I sometimes think about turning it back on because the trash talking can be fun, but overall it's a lot more enjoyable not having trolls and 12 years messaging you constantly.

I've only had one toxic message in two years. Most players are really cool people.

That time of year when the children picked up the game for $10

I don't turn my messages off. Ignore the idiots. On the flip side, I've gotten to know a lot of really cool fellow baseball nerds. The positives far outweigh the negatives for me.

You can always give them your address or ask them for their addresses. You know to set up a peaceful private met. A very peaceful met ...

Right before I played you (gg btw, I appreciate good pitching, being of that mindset myself) I played against someone who had to bunt dance every at bat and jump with his fielder on every fly ball. I did the same to him for one batter in the third inning, letting him know I could be just as annoying as him, which stopped him. Hit a homer off him the inning after that(he was home at Forbes incidentally) and after watching it, which I don’t normally do, got him to quit.
