Well that is promising. Maybe I’m just hitting a couple bad apples in a row.

If you're talking about the event, yeah there's a lot of that. I mean, Goose is at the end of the long (not skill based) tunnel so it brings out the worst in people.

Always gonna be the weirdoes. Other day I was trying to get a few more stars to hit 600, think it was for like 5 BiaH packs or something. So I had a daily that gave 4 stars for 4 multiplayer runs and I only needed one more run. So I hop into an event game to get it and match up and I am home team. So right away, bunt dancing, pausing all this BS in the top of the first. Hits a HR, replays, pauses ect lol. I just wanted to bat to get my 1 run. So I come up, hit a HR to tie it and quit. He had to be confused as hell. He was ready for a long cheese fest and I just wanted my one run I am sure he found another victim soon after though.

Events, BR, and low level RS the chances of running into cheesy players increase.
As for how many are still playing, that's a good question. Only SDS has that info which I'm sure they will not divulge to us on this forum.
As for myself, I play one or 2 games a week. I gave up on DD this year. I didn't have the time or interest to invest hours upon hours of grinding a video game. Thats not fun to me. I'll stick with online rated. Play casually when I have time and have fun doing it.

The main reason(s) I stay away from online play unless I need a Daily.

Heck; I JUST got Awards Trout and have what I think is a competitive team; but I haven't played a RS game in months.

Edit: that's incorrect. I played three once the new season started because I wanted to get to 500 to grab either Hanley or Guidry.

First two games my opponent(s) quit early. Third game was a cheese fest.

    Haven't touched Ranked since.

Sadly, those are the online modes I’m most likely to play. I’m finding the low level ranked to be the most challenging. Players all have pretty decent teams at this point, so it’s a tough go with my M’s theme team even if my opponent is a poor hitter.

I just have to be SO patient and usually need about five hits per run.

I don't think it's necessarily true that only the better players are around, I feel like that gets said a lot, but is there any real proof of that? I mean obviously, hardcore players are still around, but I don't think hardcore exactly = better. It's probably more likely a hardcore player is "better", but I think that point gets overstated a bit.

I actually haven't been running into any of that lately (Besides MLB stadiums, but a surprising amount of people have no idea the problems MLB stadiums have, so I give people a pass there), (Though also I do not play BR), only a random bunter here and there, I've really only had one real troll in the last month that I remember.

It is not true, because I am still around. 🙂

I have had a few decent games online lately, but, to reinforce my OP, I still am running into plenty of players with prestiged cards who have obviously got many hours into the game but play like shmucks.

WAY too many people attempt a bunt single with Jackie Robinson in every pitch of every appearance with him, for example.

I also think something needs to be done about the slide step glitchy windups like Kenley.

Some of you guys have full teams of fabulous cards and still resort to this sort of tactic regularly.

If you’re so good at the game, why not prove it by playing with some class?

I haven’t ran into any cheesers in awhile, most of them quit anyway bc they likely suck and do what makes them occasionally win. I ran into dudes that quit in the 8th inning.... seriously? Why not finish it out at that points 5-1 and 6-0 were the scores. I did run into a guy that bunted but it was reasonable seeing he was struggling to get on base and score, and it wasn’t cheesing. I’m average at the game but it’s fun until the hit feedback screws you or you throw a forced hanger. One of those games I hit 6 to the warning track or perfect liners right at guys....frustrating but i finally cashed in
