I've always been a fan of Kemp but dudes looking overweight. Maybe it was the what do you call it, coronavirus lockdown 10.
Or is Colorado known for food like Chicago? lol

Kemp's 35 years old. I don't know anyone with the same metabolism at 35 that they had at 25.

    Even professional athletes.

Kemp is getting a little hefty for sure. For some though, LeBron James maybe not being one like someone mentioned but it does come with age.

Not sure if Colorado is known for their food like Chicago or not, but Colorado is known for something else that can certainly contribute to some over indulging in the late night munchies.

I took this a step further, I looked up his BMI. It is 27.4 which is considered overweight. I'm not bashing the dude. Many people struggle with weight. But I think anybody can be healthy with a healthy weight at any age. Look at Ichiro. And Kemp being a professional athlete who doesn't have to work a 9 to 5 job should be more fit. But Kemps not the only one.
It just looks like he doesn't care.

He sure is. I wonder if any of his kids will have some of his genes. Bronny looks like he'll be smaller than Lebron.

LeBron is an extreme example. Kemp is old and spent half his career on the DL. Quite frankly I think its impressive he's hung around as long as he has. But I agree, he does look a like beer league softball dude. So does Albert for that matter.

dont trust BMI too much it does not account for body fat and lean muscle mass. A bodybuilder who weighs 190 pounds and is below 6 feet is also considered overweight borderline obese. And I agree anyone can be healthy the issue is as we age we have to fine-tune our diet and be more strict. That bag of chips might not have affected you in yours 20s but that high sodium will definitely bloat you for a couple of days in your 30s on ward.

When it comes to athletes, it’s not an extreme example. LeBron spends money to keep his body in shape. Just depends on lazy you want to get. Tom Brady/Drew Brees doesn’t look like Jared Lorenzen at 40+. Kemp had that LA life and money at 25. He was done after that.

When you say "not extreme", are you referring to successful older athletes at the top of their game, or just old athletes that remain in good shape? So you're saying Kemp got lazy and all that time on the DL had nothing to do with his decline? There are plenty of athletes that remain in great shape but their skills still decline due to age. It affects different people in different ways. LeBron is a freak. Nolan Ryan was a freak (granted in a different way). Bo Jackson was a freak. Not everybody will be like them, even elite athletes.

When you mentioned extreme example, I assumed you were talking about someone past their peak and was out of shape. But Kemp wasn’t on the DL for a long period of time expect for maybe 2-3 times. He just got content and didn’t push himself in the off-season.

Not really. I guarantee he puts in the work. Plus he use to be a lockdown defender from tip off until the last buzzer. Now he is a shell of that. He only plays defense when he absolutely has to. Because his body cannot do it.

Your right. He also spends over a million each year to take care of his body. He plays D when he wants/has to. But the OP was about weight and someone said something about 35 Yr olds getting fat and out of shape.

I thought so too until I looked it up before I posted. He missed 2 large chunks back to back in his prime. Other than that, he played 150+ for most of his career.

Trust me, it is real. You have to put in that extra work/money to stay in shape once you get older. It isnt gonna happen naturally. It sucks.
