I would agree that it does skew stats when they dashboard before the play finishes, but I just don't see how the game code could account for that.
Best suggestion would be to calculate how often it happens to you (say 10% of games) and then apply a 10% modifier to your player's stats.
It there are 2 questions...
Can’t the play that has started complete if the disconnect happens during the play, then allow the game to cease the game and disconnect? And, I’d like to see the opponents disconnections prior to committing my time to play them. Why is that not possible?
Thanks all!
Your second question should be much more possible than the first.
Allowing the play to complete would be difficult because you would need to determine when it happens once the ball is in play.
For example, if I'm in the middle of throwing a pitch and I disconnect, does the pitch still get thrown? Do you still get to hit it? If you hit a groundball or a flyball, who fields it?
Right now, once a disconnect happens the game just stops there.
Agreed. Thank you for continuing the discussion. It is important to me. I HATE CHEATING. I do believe it is cheating.
So a simple Win-Loss-Disconnections display of record before committing to play that opponent seems reasonable. No?

It is not cheating; you feel cheated out of a HR or whatever, sure, but it is not cheating because the loser gets an L and the winner a W. These are really slim issues compared to match making. It sucks, but these are just stats, plus, if you play Conquest, they are blended together so they're basically useless.

This was a bigger issue in 17 when there were stat based missions. Now not so much.
It's not even all that annoying to me, I find it funny when someone was so upset they resorted dashboarding. -

I thought I remember seeing that in '20 you will be able to see stats separated by game mode?

Even after doing it a couple times, I felt ridiculous and made fun of myself for the benefit of my wife.

How is this cheating?
The only punishment needed is losing, they don't need to be banned further from playing.
The stats don't even mean that much outside of the win, there aren't any stat based missions, one homerun isn't going to change anything in your stats.

they are taking their loss........... they have quit so that's a loss. I think bigger issues like holding R2 EVERY pitch stepping off multiple times wasting the time of your opponent. a 3 inning game should not take half hour. what's your take on these offences
I completely agree with you on the R2 issue, stepping out and pausing garbage. But as annoying as that is, and it is annoying, it doesn’t skew stats.
if someone was to find themselves guilty of these "garbage" tactics do you feel they should reassess their own game play issues before making a dumb thread complaining about free wins

Well I think he means it is cheating you out of your stats, which is admittedly not really a big deal.
Dashboarding on a hr is technically artificially inflating their pitching numbers as well as deflating your batting numbers, but I don't think it's happening that much and the stats don't really matter.

So, let me get this straight.
You’re complaining about getting a win?
And you want people to get punished even more for losing?
Am I complaining about a win bro? For real? I am bringing up the point of out right cheating and that’s it. It’s less about the W/L and more about the cheating and skewing of players stats both for a positive stat and a negative one.
Is that not your view for some reason? It isn’t cheating though. They aren’t giving themselves an unfair advantage over you. People rage quitting does nothing but benefit you.
Take your win and quit complaining over pointless stats.
-
Jeez guys, it is cheating if you do not allow the natural progression of the game to complete. If you intervene in the completion of the game intentionally, that is cheating.
Fine, some don’t care about the stats, I’m not disputing your opinion on that. I however do care. The win is the totality of your gameplay stats. I take it seriously.
Why is it so difficult for people to be kind and stick to the merits of my concern? Why attack? Uncalled for and childish really. Then to ague if it’s cheating is ridiculous. -
Being insecure about stats, couldn't be me
I'll still have my 1.500 ops with Yelich with or without 1 or 2 homers

In my original post I stated I have reported it at least 30 times now. It happened many times before that as well. So, that is NOT 1 or 2 HR’s.
And again, if it is not important or doesn’t matter to you, fine. But it does matter to me.
-
Arguing that it's not "cheating" is not the same thing as "attacking" you.
They don't have an unfair advantage, you still get the win. Does it suck losing stats? Absolutely. But it's not "cheating", a better term would be it's unsportsmanlike.

Why not just quit once the play completes then using the quit option in the pause menu? Why go through the process of purposely disconnecting your connection when you have an out if you’d like not to continue? The only answer is to CHEAT! So the stats do not count against you. You’re being ridiculous. Outright cheating AND unsportsmanlike.

The only answer is not cheating when considering why people quit before a play is done. The simple answer is they quit because they are mad. It's unsportsmanlike, it's not cheating.
They aren't quitting because they care about that one home run they gave up, they are just raging. And raging is rarely logical, they aren't going to work it out in their heads "I must wait until the play is over", they are going to give into emotion and just pull the plug.
Not cheating, absolutely unsportsmanlike.

Dashboarding is annoying for sure, but as has been pointed out, a win is a win. I think there are more egregious flaws in the game, and would be happy to see any of them taken care of. I suppose we’ll soon see...

I think all these guys are trying to say is go ahead and continue to think of it like you do, but you'll keep on finding yourself upset when you should be celebrating a free win and the fact you played so well you most likely just made a grown man throw a hissy fit. Lol. The fact is there isn't anything they could or would do about it man. Sorry.
If stats matter that much, keep track of how many rage quits you get. That's a nice stat.
-
Personally, I like to imagine that the 497 ft Yelich bomb caused their PS4 to explode from sheer awesomeness.

Personally I love making guys dashboard lol
