I agree it is frustrating to deal with for sure.
However, when a player "dashboards" or turns off their PS4, this occurs outside of the game code.
The same thing happens if you suddenly lose power in the middle of a game.
There is really no way for the game to know the difference between a genuine power loss and someone just turning their PS4 off or resetting.
Sure, you could probably keep track of disconnects and display that as part of a player's record, but that would penalize legitimate power failures the same as dashboarders.
The only way I could think of stopping dashboarding would have to be done at the PS4 system level, by restricting your ability to force close a game or reset the system while a game is in progress.
This would have issues though as it would prevent you from resetting or force closing when a game has crashed.

The technique is simple: you hold home button and power off the console; that's why it's easy and happens fast.
Not proud of it, did it mabye 3-4 times this year out of close to a thousand games; usually when I should have laid off the game for a couple hours to cool off.
So why not just take the Loss? Laying off a game you shouldn’t have started is no excuse for disconnecting during a play... I will never understand any rational for that. It’s cheating. Sorry bro, it’s not something to be justified. Happy you manned up, but please for the sake of the game and your own reputation, stop!

I understand power outages and internet outages happen, but there are ways to see if someone if a consistent offender of this. Someone does not lose power or internet connectivity 33% of their games.
Also, simply providing us with the players disconnects (as I believe they do in Madden or NCAA Football) before committing to play them is leaving it up to the player to make that decision. Some make think it’s not a big deal, but that does not speak for everyone. I happen to think it is a big deal. I hate cheating and don’t like it’s done to skew your stats. Be a man/woman and take your loss! That’s no big deal! -
they are taking their loss........... they have quit so that's a loss. I think bigger issues like holding R2 EVERY pitch stepping off multiple times wasting the time of your opponent. a 3 inning game should not take half hour. what's your take on these offences
-
So, let me get this straight.
You’re complaining about getting a win?
And you want people to get punished even more for losing?

It is a loss; like I said not proud of it and why I said I shouldn't have gotten in a game with that state of mind. But it's human nature and that behaviour (stubborness) has made me successful in other areas of my life. It was also in a period of my life where I was basking in negativity and losing my sh... over stupid stuff. I admire your moral posturing, though!

I completely agree with you on the R2 issue, stepping out and pausing garbage. But as annoying as that is, and it is annoying, it doesn’t skew stats.

I would agree that it does skew stats when they dashboard before the play finishes, but I just don't see how the game code could account for that.
Best suggestion would be to calculate how often it happens to you (say 10% of games) and then apply a 10% modifier to your player's stats.

Why are my replies being deleted and by whom? So when this guy said that insult to me in my prior post, he doesn’t get deleted?

It there are 2 questions...
Can’t the play that has started complete if the disconnect happens during the play, then allow the game to cease the game and disconnect? And, I’d like to see the opponents disconnections prior to committing my time to play them. Why is that not possible?
Thanks all!

Am I complaining about a win bro? For real? I am bringing up the point of out right cheating and that’s it. It’s less about the W/L and more about the cheating and skewing of players stats both for a positive stat and a negative one.
Is that not your view for some reason? -

Your second question should be much more possible than the first.
Allowing the play to complete would be difficult because you would need to determine when it happens once the ball is in play.
For example, if I'm in the middle of throwing a pitch and I disconnect, does the pitch still get thrown? Do you still get to hit it? If you hit a groundball or a flyball, who fields it?
Right now, once a disconnect happens the game just stops there.

Agreed. Thank you for continuing the discussion. It is important to me. I HATE CHEATING. I do believe it is cheating.
So a simple Win-Loss-Disconnections display of record before committing to play that opponent seems reasonable. No?

It is not cheating; you feel cheated out of a HR or whatever, sure, but it is not cheating because the loser gets an L and the winner a W. These are really slim issues compared to match making. It sucks, but these are just stats, plus, if you play Conquest, they are blended together so they're basically useless.

This was a bigger issue in 17 when there were stat based missions. Now not so much.
It's not even all that annoying to me, I find it funny when someone was so upset they resorted dashboarding. -

I thought I remember seeing that in '20 you will be able to see stats separated by game mode?
