Not sure if it's me or what, but just got no hit and never even came close to a hit. Last two games I couldn't barely put a ball in play. I know Im not a great hitter by any means but holy [censored] this is becoming madness.
My opponent managed a meager 3 hits and a run.
I've seen the posts about monitors.....blah,blah,blah. That's great, but I won't sit in a secluded room for 4 hours on a small [censored] TV just to be able to hit. Something is just wrong on any level that two people manage 3 hit and a run in a game.
I don't know, maybe Im wrong, love the game, but online is just a disaster. Was the pitcher Seaver? I just faced him for the first time and I couldn’t even see the fastball. It was frustrating
Seaver it was, couldn't even touch the guy. I used Cole and thought I did great.
I can pitch for the most part, but this hitting thing, man it's a different animal altogether. -

Truth of the matter is, if you don’t buy a monitor, you can’t expect to compete at a high level in this game.
I’m getting aged out of this game; I’m in my 40s and my eyes and reflexes aren’t what they used to be. I had to buy a monitor to extend my online career. Lol
Sorry, brother. That’s the way it is. But honestly, I’ve run in to so many players that you can’t even throw a strike to otherwise they’ll mash it. I shudder to think how bad I’d lose if hitting was any easier.
Next step is shooting the needle or using the cream & clear to extend your online career. I've heard deer antler spray helps as well.

So any monitor suggestions?
Thanks -

ThanksAnything is an upgrade, I got an asus at walmart for $100 and it's fine. Anything with a response time of 5MS or less, which is virtually any monitor you'll buy.
Some guys here will recommend a $4,950 BenQ with .00000111 MS response time, 3.6 billion pixels, a 1,456,882 hz refresh rate, free Dr. Pepper, and a foot massage.
Just get one at walmart.

I figured anything is good, but I'm such a get the best [censored] ever idiot I don't need to overspend for once, but I'm sure I will.

ThanksI have a MSI 32' Monitor. It was under $300.00
You want to focus on the response time. The one I have is 1MS. The refresh rate is of no concern to you, unless you plan on getting a PS5. -

This is something SDS need to address if possible!!! Most people don't buy a PS4 to hook up to a monitor. Having to buy a monitor just so you can play a game properly is ridiculous. Hopefully this is something the team can address next year.

Well you can buy something now that will work with the PS4 but also have a higher refresh rate for when the PS5 is released. A few months ago I upgraded my 24” Asus monitor and got the Asus 27” VG279Q. It can do up to 144hz so it will be usable with the PS5. IPS panel which looks great and a low input lag. Very solid monitor.

If you don’t have a monitor Make sure your TV setting is on game mode

Asus and BenQ make good monitors for decent prices. Just check Amazon or Wal Mart. Also if your internet connection is weak, it will still be hard to hit online.

With all this talk about monitors, the biggest issue that isnt being discussed here is how in one game you can face Kluber who throws mid 90s and it looks like it is coming 8n at 105mph, the next game you face Kluber again and his FB is very hitable. No one has explained to why that is.
In RS i have to swing as the bsll is released to hit 102 and pray it is a FB i can get to, but in the events i can turn on a 102. Again no explanation for that.
A monitor will slow it down so these things will be easier l, but there is a much bigger issue going on here. I could turn around Chapman online in 17 playing H2H, but on 20 no chance. Playing on the same TV with same internet provider, hard wired and actually a faster speed since i upgraded. We all know 18 pitch speeds were slow, so I'm not even comparing that. And i didn't play 19.
I have been fine with TV on Game mode for as long as i have been playing, sure i fully believe a monitor would help at least give me a chance at WS, but until this year i have never felt like the game was only made for people with monitors.

Hook it up to a tube TV. No refresh rate. All the best players play on old Sony Trinitron TVs.
-
And what about the servers? Aren't some issues related to how far you are from the server? I think there is some advantage for players living close to server

I'm 47 years old and like Maurcie, using a monitor has extended my online life for MLB and COD WWII.
Here's what I use. Just under $500 but it will carry you for 3 years easily.

And never do what I just did. I was up 1-0 in the third inning, my opponent requested a friendly quit. I rejected it. Ended up losing in extra innings.

Unfortunately, online H2H RS gameplay is pretty pathetic.
It is amazes me how much better the gameplay in Events is, compared to RS H2H. It doesn't make sense....why is this?
Online RS H2H feels like you're playing underwater at times -- horrible latency, frames skipping during pitches, unbelievable input lag, etc. -

Have you ever tried it??
