Pete Rose

Do you think Manfred reinstates him? Do you think he should? After everything since he’s played, steroids, Astros, do you think he deserves reinstatement?
-
Right now is his best shot of getting reinstated with everything going on and Rob Manfred needing to some positive headlines/distractions
-
No. He will get into the HOF posthumously. He should never be allowed to see himself immortalized in Cooperstown. The man bet on games he had a direct impact on. He cheated his fans, he cheated gamblers, he cheated himself out of the privilige.
-
Nope. there is no way Rose gets reinstated.
Honestly I've always said he will get in posthumously, but the more I think about it, I just dont see him ever getting in. It will take the hall changing its rule that players on the banned are ineligible.
-
Well his family might refuse to allow him to be put in after his kicks the big bucket. Its mlb that has to swallow the pill of now having one if not the best player out of its hall of fame. Be honest, with Walkers inclusion the hall of fame is getting like WWE's. I mean who was ever afraid to pitch to him? Was he ever walked to load or with bases juiced? How many intentional walks did he get?
-
I think Shoeless Joe Jackson should be in. Pete Rose should be in as a player. There are plenty of players in the Hall of fame the cheated during there time of playing. The reason we see guys like Walker and and Harold Baines get in the HOF is because of the steroids. The voters vote by who is on the ballot.

I don't care that Pete bet on baseball. If you think for one second that he was fixing games, then just get some footage of Pete and watch how he played the game? Did anyone in baseball history play the game harder than Pete?? ANYONE??? I only have a daughter, but if I had a son I'd pull up footage of Pete and tell him "Son, thats how you play the game." THAT, is the ultimate compliment as far as I'm concerned. And oh by the way the same guy happens to be the all time hit king and nobody will ever break that record. So yes, I think he should be in and its baseball that is stained by not getting in....not Pete. Unfortunately Manfred is running MLB into the ground.

I mean, Walker was absolutely a better offensive player than Pete rose was.
Also, Rose isn’t even close to being “the best player”
Walker deserves to be in the HoF.

Sad you think he does when hardly any pitchers feared to face him....like McGwire, Bonds, Sosa, Ortiz Cabrera.... that is the true test.

You asked how many times Walker got Intentionally walked the answer is 117 times. I'd say thats a fair amount. He was a very scary guy to face and deserves to be in the hall of fame.

No to be that guy, but I will:
Walker
117 IBB in 17 years = 6.8823 IBB a year
Rose
167 IBB in 24 years = 6.9583 IBB a year -

Thats fair and I never said if Pete Rose shoud be in the hof or not. Personaly I lean towards not. I was just trying to make the case for Walker.

I think it should be given to the alumni association to decide. let the ones he played with and were "hurt" by his actions decide wether he should be in or not.

So, who are you to say if pitchers feared him or not?
Rose had two seasons with 150 wRC+, his highest being 154.
Walker had 6 seasons with 150 wRC+, with one of those being 177 and two more being 167 and 163.
It’s sad that you’re using personal opinion about a player instead of real stats.

I don't care if he had the eye of Ted and the arms of McGwire.
He broke the one unbreakable rule. Out forever.

“Unbreakable Rule”?? Eh whatever!! Like I said, if my kid played like Pete I’d be one proud pop!! That’s how everyone should play the game!!!
