Please don’t neglect the older legends.

I’ll freely admit that I like older legends (pre-70s guys) more than newer, 90s and 2000s legends. And I also understand why lesser, recent players are added more to the game. They’re more popular, and people grew up watching those guys. It makes sense to include more of them, especially because they’re remembered so fondly by the player base.
At the same time though, I hope that efforts are continued to bring more guys into the game from before the 70s. Guys like Tris Speaker, or Babe Herman, or Satchel Paige. After the last 2 legends were announced, Roberts in particular, I’m getting worried that no old legends will
be added.Yeah I am worried too, I hope they have some older guys coming.

The game was missing tons of big name guys from that era, so SDS is taking care of that issue. We have a lot of the biggest older names already, that wasn’t the case for the 90s and 00s until the show 20.
And I’m sure a guy like Roberts was dirt cheap to acquire, and is more of a bonus than anything
I highly doubt they leave out older guys completely though.

Hank Greenberg has needed a card for years.
It's a good way to teach younger generations about historical players

I'm hoping for a mix of old and new going forward, I want 2 Roy Halladay cards, a Blue Jay card and a Phillies card.

I get all of that. But there are still massive names from the past waiting to be added. Obviously there’s a financial aspect. It feels like those old players are about to be left behind considering literally all of the players announced had their prime careers spanning that 90s - 2000s period.
Personally, my guess is 5 guys from pre-1970. But even that feels optimistic.

Yeah obviously there’s still some bigger names left from the crowd of older players, but we’re just now getting some of the actual biggest names from the 90s-00s.
Rivera, Ortiz, Sheffield, Smoltz, Maddux, etc.
We already had Ruth, Feller, Walter Johnson, Lefty Grove, Cobb, Robinson, etc.
My point is that we’re missing bigger names from the 90s-00s than we are from pre-70s.
Just to clarify, I don’t mind older legends being added. The more the merrier.

Wasn't Tris Speaker a known member of the KKK?

Google search pulls up an article from a few years ago that says researchers say Cobb and Speaker were members, but it hasn't been conclusively verified.
He was a white man who grew up in Texas at the end of the 19th century, chances are he was a racist, but as far as being a Klan member, that is still currently a rumor. Since Cobb is in, I cant see that rumor keeping him out of the game.

They've done a really good job over the years of adding pre 70's legends. I'm sure they may drop a few more this year but I am also excited for the 90's legends. Roberts will be a good card!! A lot of people will be using him. Good 2B with some pop and speed!
