HONUS COLLECTION

I just did some quick math, and right now I have at least 75% of every collection except HR Derby, FOTF, Future Stars and Signature Series. For Signature Series I have everything except the three cards that are currently selling for over 100k.
Assuming they do it similar to last year, what do you guys think I should target next?

Sammy and Mark were well liked. Bonds was hated by a lot of fans, writers, opponents, and teammates. Bonds was booed so much during his 73 HR year. Sosa and McGwire were celebrated.
Ya, Bonds was easily the most hated player possibly in the history of the game. He was absolutely miserable, and not just after '98.. even his pirate days, he was absolutely abysmal to be around and a nightmare in the clubhouse and to reporters..
But man could he hit...I think John rocker may beat out bonds for the most hated player lol but From what I’ve heard though the years of story’s is that bonds hated the media because of how they treated his father (Bobby bonds) and godfather (Willy Mays) so he came into the league with a chip on his shoulder and wanted nothing to do with the media Which is why he was combative with them. So the media responded by reporting every negative story they could, yes he had issues with teammates but the media is the primary reason why he wasn’t liked throughout the country and made him the poster boy of steroids. It’s pretty obvious every year when Clemens gets more hof votes then bonds, even though they both have been linked to steroids. Nothing against Clemens, he was a great all time pitcher but he shouldn’t be getting more votes than someone that is in the short list of greatest players in history
Clemens is in that same short list in history.
Yes, Bonds is 1a/1b greatest with Ruth in terms of numbers, but Clemens is also in that greatest of all time rotation -

Currently have 20 rookies out of 34, 18 out of 38 all stars, 19 out of 33 vets, 16 out of 34 breakouts, and 12 our of 22 post seasons. It will be interesting if they release other sigs or awards for TA as the year goes on.

Captain Jeter would be a really present surprise.
Present?
Typo. Pleasant

I am hedging my bets on Roger Maris.

I think it's gonna be a new Legend.
I don't think it's gonna be Ruth for one reason, he was a World Series reward last year. SDS generally doesn't make somebody hard to obtain in back to back years. We saw Immortals you could grind for in 18 become Inning bosses, or put on the XP path (Nolan) in 19. Ruth and Chipper were the only ones that got tougher. World Series rewards from 18 like Sig Kershaw and Sig Sandberg, went into the XP path (Kershaw) and packs (Sandberg). Ted Williams went from an Immortal you could only get online, to an Inning boss. Vlad Sr was the Collection reward in 18, and in 19 he got an MVP card for an Inning boss, and his Sig card was free to get.

Just a hunch, and maybe others have already posted this, but if you click on the "Topps Now" link at the top of this page, the very first link at the top of the Topps page in the "Categories" section brings you to a special card collection about Jeter. Combined with the fact that he just got into the HoF with 100%-minus-one-vote recently, my money would be on Jeter being this year's Honus.

Not even in the same arena as Panini's Blockchain cards inserted into packs. At least you get a physical card with Topps Now.

The answer is clearly Rick the Wild Thing Vaughn due to actor Charlie Sheen staring in a movie called The Chase.

July 8, 2020 article from MLB.com talking about Gerritt Cole's chasing Carl Hubbell's 24 straight wins (MLB record set in 1937) and that he is 8 wins shy. https://www.mlb.com/news/the-longest-pitcher-win-streaks-in-mlb-history
Maybe not the massive collection for him, but something?

Personally I think it’ll be the return of Reggie Stocker. I think with the show going multi platform here soon, that Jeter will grace the cover of the game. I mean Jeter is a name that even people who don’t watch baseball know who he is. He’s extremely marketable. Bonds is way too big of a name to release halfway through this games life cycle so I think that rolls him out. Same with Clemente. If we do get a new legend I think the best bet would be Sosa or McGuire but I think even those two are a stretch. I’ll be pretty disappointed if it’s Honus again.

Chase? Chase field maybe. Randy Johnson?

I didn't play MLB 19... what is this Honus thing? Collect certain cards for the ultimate card in the game?
Wouldn't necessarily all it the "ultimate card in the game". It was a very good card but there are already several cards that were very similar. Great contact, 70-80 power, great speed, very good D. One thing he had going for him was he played anywhere on the field.
Best thing about him was he was relatively cheap after quick selling everything I had to buy to get him. -
What I can't work out is I have about 300k floating around. Is it worth me chasing the Chase collection or saving it for top 99s to come?
