Dude... It's February. If you haven't come to grips with the fact that MLBTS plays like a glorified mobile game, I don't know what to tell you.
Nothing is going to change as long as DD is separating fools from their money. It's clear that SDS/Sony has determined the whales suck at this game which is why the game plays like it does, and why people are becoming increasingly frustrated with these DD/Ultimate Team modes.
Gameplay is no longer developed to simulate the physical act of playing baseball - this game's sole purpose is to keep the 2% of the player base that spend gobs of money engaged and continuing to open their wallets. So unless those players magically get better, fretting over whether you're being proportionately rewarded is an act of insanity.
So, in essense, you agree.
Personally, I'm never gonna stop caring because 1) this is realistically the only baseball game available to me and because 2) however insane it may seem, I have hopes that things could still veer back towards how the game used to play in 15 and 16.
I do.
However, I don't see how it ever becomes more input-based unless 1) "good" players actually start spending money, to which there's currently no incentive, or 2) legislation is passed that prohibits publishers from manipulating gameplay in order to push micro-transactions.
I think it's also important to point out that the developers are very likely not making the final decision on these things. I'm sure they would love to produce a largely input-based game as the RNG cheapens the mechanics they worked so hard on developing. It's the suits, probably from big Sony, that are saying "PlayerX has paid us $5k over the last two years and hasn't bought a pack in 2 weeks. We noticed he has a losing record over that period. Fix it."

respect for putting this out there without whining and being a [censored] about it.
I think we all agree, to an extent. SDS would rather it not be talked about, we'd all rather not talk about it really. But I appreciate your passion and willingness to make it public because it shouldn't just go away and be hush hush. It's there, it should be highlighted.Without whining? I played the OP in an event game last month and got similar screenshots from him in my messages with whiny comments how I didn’t deserve to win the game. At that point, I just egged him on.

Well, it's none of my business what happened in messages between you two. But I do know he's being respectful and to the point with this specific post.

Even if true, how is this at all relevant to this thread?

I’ll be honest, I have felt like starting similar threads after my last two ranked games. The thing is, so many of us have pointed games like this out throughout the course of this season. My conclusion was to just sit with my unpleasant feelings of having been ripped off while turning off the game to watch The Expanse.

To put it in raw numbers:
I had 14 15's (4 hits, 10 outs) while my opponent had none. My opponent's hits were 10, 11, 12 and 13 hit chance. He hit one bomb with Snider (439 ft) and one with Griffey (388 ft). Both of his homers were early/okay.
Two things:
- Are you really going online to whine about a game where you clearly had a lot of bad luck, but still won, in February?
- Biggest mistake you made was playing at Shippett. All I needed to see was that background to know what happened - dude yanked a couple poorly hit flyballs out of that stupid stadium. Shippett Park is a scourge...

I definitely agree.
Sadly, we are probably ways away from these types of legislative steps.

I just had 2 hits in a RS game. 11 15s for outs. 4 14s. 2 13s, only 3 under 11, 5 warning track shots. Not my best hitting performance by any means, but I couldn't catch a single break! Ha. Its been a rough week. Epic shelfy meltdown last night, Mcgunski lining out 20 times, quash losing his [censored] this morning. Anyone else still playing because they don't know how to stop? I feel like I see so much rage everywhere and the worst part, I totally get it. Love the game at the end of the day, but love me back game!! This is something else though, and I'm not even mad at it, I was laughing hysterically by the end, which kind of scares me.
-
Unrelated, but I've been playing casual online games the last few days and have really been enjoying myself in the process. It's a great break from RS or BR and opponents are a lot easier to find than I'd presumed. I recommend it to anyone just looking to play a solid game against a human, without stress.
-
Three of my last five ranked games have been like that now. I think it’s time for me to stop playing. I just can’t take outpitching an opponent for five innings and then giving up a three run home run to Mays on a 9 hit chance change up which wildly missed its spot. Time to take my own advice.

I have definitely thought about it. There are a few things that keep me playing however.
Firstly, the game really can be a lot of fun when you are getting rewarded at a respectable clip. Secondly, I don't want to take too long of a break before MLB 20 to make sure that I can still hit at least a little when the new game drops. I suppose with that decision comes these negative consequences that I simply have to deal with.
-
Yeah, I feel you. I say this and then no doubt today after work, I’ll be like, ok I’ll try this again. So many aspects of the game are great.

Unable to tell with info given?
Those pictures don't tell the "whole story!" Where did the hits go after contact? What type of pitches did the hits come from?
What was the situation with the shift? What time of day? What ballpark? You understand why some people have a hard time reading peoples complaints about the game play?
When people constantly leave out information in order to come up with a reason why they should have won? Don't get me wrong I am not saying it didn't happen. But honestly how could anybody deduce whether you should have won or not with the info you provided.
The developers are always trying to make the game better but you cannot and should not expect them to know what happened in your game example with the information provided.
In fact you provided a picture of your opponents hits and it only shows 3 hits? The scoreboard says 7 hits and 4 hits so again info missing!

There's 4 hits on his opponent, look at the 11 hit chance hit, there's another one right under it
