Pitch Speed Variations on Purpose?

Are pitch speeds online designed to be faster than their offline counterparts e.g. all star, hall of fame, etc. or does your connection with your opponent cause an unintended increase in speeds? Has anyone from SDS ever commented on this?
Connection with your opponent does matter. You simply can't match someone with fiber in the middle of the country to someone wireless in Florida and it not be a bad experience. Would be great if 95 actually looked 95 all the time but won't until ping based match making is done. This is why you will see the same people on the leaderboards. They have the same [censored] internet.
I would bet a large sum if ping indicators and ping based match making is ever implemented people like pitching will not be 250-10. He would still be good, just not 250-10 good which would result in him probably quitting the game.
So I assume that when the game freezes during pitching that there’s something activating in the programming to try to equalize the experience so that there’s no freezing from the batter’s perspective. Beyond matchmaking based on ping, is there anything else that programmers could do to balance out the experience?

I don't know the exact details of what they do. I do know when the game is smooth I see none of these issues. That is why I can tell in the 1st inning most times whether I am going to win or lose. I know all the signs of a bad connection and there are a lot. If I see any of these in the first inning, I know it is going to be a miserable game. I still win a lot of these games, they just aren't fun.

Yes !! Indeed .. Hated when I see 95 going in 80 !! Batting practice speed because of some inference lag connection... I usually quit and get the lost !! But lately I have been playing with good pitching speed!! Hopefully this tread continues !!

Sds uses amazon dedicated server banks which are located north eastern and north western states. I know this because my gaming router is useless with this game. I have my region set and it always pings the same server, yet this year my game connections have been atrocious. It doesn’t matter if I’m home or away, it’s the same. I seem to get matched with the clown that locks L1 so you can’t step to disrupt their leading off and prevents you from selecting your pitch. This also causes you to run through bases and I would venture to guess it’s also why fielders stop moving or fail to go into a tag animation. In other words this years netcode is equivalent to 2016 without the network crashes. This game relies on milliseconds, so when the netcode is disrupted it becomes a miserable experience when on the receiving end.

Yes they do, and they have told us they make changes to H2H multiplayer. See games notes for updates 1.04 and 1.05 in March, they both addressed gameplay modifications, such as this: “Slight increases to exit velocities in competitive multiplayer.” - 1.05

I hope the pitching gets better.

It seems as if speeds are different in events as opposed to ranked also

Yeah they definite are. I don’t know what the reasoning is for it to be like that. -

They are for sure! probably to score more runs becuase they are shorter games.

If I’m the away team, fastballs look like they are 120 mph. If I’m home, they still look faster than cpu play, but hittable. I know if I’m away, I will lose or pull off a close win on a lucky swing or two. I also notice when I am home, I strike out the other guy a ton. So they likely had the same issue I have. I’m high enough where dudes shouldn’t be striking out 18 times. I normally hit weak grounders or oppo pops when I am
Away. It’s frustrating -
