RE: SDS PLEASE GO BACK TO PRE PATCH

Pre-patch, i couldn’t stop playing the game. I was enjoying Showdown and felt like I could get it done and was having FUN. MTO was actually entertaining and didn’t feel like a grind. Playing on All-Star or above was a manageable sweat fest. BR was ok, not that I played a ton. I felt like I’d actually reach 300 program points and beyond because what else am I going to do? Post-patch, I don’t even want to boot into the game. Sadly, I found myself going back to another [censored] show of game in Destiny. I honestly didn’t think their could be another Dev, other than Bungle, that could break their game so quickly. I could see making changes after a few weeks, but 2 days after official release is downright stupid. People are stuck at home, keep the game FUN for as people as possible. Hitting, in my opinion, was in the best place it'd been in a few years. So instead of ruining hitting, start refining pitching again. Start with the strike zone. If it’s going to be inconsistent, then at least make it realistic where one ump calls outside off the black, another inside off the, or they like it down. This RNG strike zone needs to go, or better yet, make it a no if-ands-or-buts robozone. If it’s on the black it’s a strike, unless at the top of the zone. Then fix the inputs and reduce the RNG, from user controlled pitches. Then, watch your data and make changes as needed. At this time, people need things that are FUN to pass the time.

If you didn’t like how showdown was being farmed, then restrict the end game rewards. Don’t make it possible to receive an infinite amount of tickets. There’s 5 teams in each division, so limit ticket rewards to 5 entries. Make the boss more difficult, remove the skip to the boss feature, shrink pci’s, create a diminishing returns algorithm, or something other than a global DD hitting nerf. The quick fix, is rarely the best fix. Especially when you undo all the work you’re team put into fixing hitting.

If it’s fun, people will spend money no matter the situation. Bring the FUN back the show. Make tweaks not global changes.

RE: The three features that received the most L's in todays stream

My issue is they spent the 1st half of the stream screaming choice, then evolution comes up and it brings back programs that are achieved through online only. That is not choice. Then prestige bosses and again online only, this is not choice. I loved everything and then they went Bungo on this content.

RE: Pxp mission in POTM cut in half

Everything about pxp is backwards. Why do pitchers get 40 pts per inning and 10 pts per strikeout while a batter only gets 10 pts per non-guaranteed at-bats. So you pitch one inning with 3k’s, that’s 70 pxp for that pitcher. A batter can only generate at most 55pts in a perfect at-bat, which for them is a grand slam. That’s 10pts for the atbat, 5 for the run, 20 for the 4 rbis, and 20 for the hr. The batter is capped out, but the pitcher could still get a win, save, shutout, or qs. Where in this equation is get good? The math that they’ve created is obsurdly backwards because a pitcher is guaranteed innings and k’s if you’re a decent pitcher. A batter on the other hand depends on how many innings are being played, where in the order they’re batting, and rng. There’s nine batters, every at-bat can’t be a grand slam but there is only one pitcher thus guaranteeing those stats. Which begs the question, why is level 5 for a pitcher only 5000 and a batter is 10000?

RE: Hitting too hard, CPU pitcher fielding too good?

CPU fielding in general is ridiculous. Between pitchers consistently making behind the back catches and supermen disguised as fielders, there isn’t much empty real estate that ball can find.

RE: SDS needs to prioritize getting the rights to more pitching legends

    What about:

    Ramon Martinez
    John Wettland
    Daryl Kyle
    Dave Stewart
    Bob Welch
    Rick Sutcliff
    Hideo Nomo (the Tornado himself)
Todd Stottlemeyer (the Blue Jay we should’ve gotten)
    Andy Benes
    Andy Petitte
Jimmy Key (another More deserving Blue Jay)
    Alex Fernandez
    Jose Rijo
    Pat Hentgen (another Blue Jay)
    Doug Drabek
    John Candeleria
    Francisco Liriano
    Barry Zito
    Brett Tomko
    Dave Dravecky
    Dave Righetti
    Felix Rodriguez
    Tim Worrell
    Ben Sheets

RE: First Impressions MLB21, likes dislikes

The UI is awful this year. Too many button presses to get to what you want and a complete waste of unused real estate. There’s nothing extra on the screen requiring such a small font.

Why does a Hr moment feel like a struggle bus? I used Tatis in showdown and I was hitting bombs, then go to his moment and he has warning track power. It’s not like your facing a stud pitcher that forces your ball to die at the wall.

Otherwise the gameplay feels fine, but the program path is going to take some getting used to.

I'm curious what type of communication people expect?

Do you want them to come out and say

"Yeah, our servers are awful. We are trying every night to resolve the issues to the best of our ability but at this time we have no estimate on when they will be 100% working".

Will that make you feel better? Will it just upset you more? They can't give you answers they don't even know yet and they are not going to go into technical details about the servers. They are not going to discuss compensation or remedies until the problems are resolved.

And this is not me defending them or excusing the inexcusable down times. It is honestly me being curious as to what type of communication would satisfy you?

I would like to see them own the problem by coming out and saying, “we’re delaying all new content until this server issue is resolved.” FOMO is they’re focus at the moment. We get a new headliner today and the servers will be garbage as usual, then a new event and inning and the servers will still be trash. All I ask is that you focus on the problem and fix it before piling onto the problem. As I tell my students, “you’re not multitasking, you’re multifailing.”

    RE: Sandy Alcantara

Us sheep must not notice that Mikolas has been pitching lights out but he only gets downgraded, then again it only took 3/4 of a season for Freddy Peralta to finally get love last year. Oh and Yordan was producing consistent numbers then was downgraded for no reason, they then course corrected the following update, and guess who’s a 90 after having his numbers broadcast this week. But hey we’re just following the herd.

    RE: Sandy Alcantara

Their formula is how many times did they show up on MLB Tonight and RoFlo mentions. Pitchers only get talked about every 5 days, so it takes 3months for them to be recognized. My guess is we get a POM card in place of a live series upgrade like Detmers.

RE: CPU bunting is a problem.

So what if there is a bunt defense tool. There are certain players that the CPU always try’s to bunt with, like Victor Reyes, who doesn’t bunt the ball irl. While there’s others, like the Little Leaguer Juan Pierre who led the league in infield base hits never seems to attempt a bunt.

I had gotten back on last evening and everything seemed to be working again. Once more players acknowledged the issue being widespread they should have said something to the community. Instead we got plenty of Tweets about the tournament.

    RE: The lineout event

There hasn’t been a true moonshot event since 18 when they removed distance tracking on HR’s for a few months. Now we have the algorithm that kills the ball at the track, even Fenway, because everyone needs to be Torie Hunter.

RE: What I learned from the Angel's City Connect Program...

Just run angel pitchers and fof trout. In 3 inning games the pitchers will nab you 250+ pxp by themselves. Play a 9 inning game and they’ll bag 650+ and your done in 2 games.

Which begs the question, why is level 5 for a pitcher only 5000 and a batter is 10000?

Level 5 for a pitcher is still 10000, so not sure where you are getting that from. Also the reason for the discrepancy between pitchers and hitters is because it isn't designed for a worthless mode(play vs. CPU), or spamming the same pitcher for 10 conquest games. It's very clearly made with pitcher stamina in mind

Nothing in this game is designed for the way people play. Playing everlasting exhibition games on the eve of a new drop, constantly resetting an event card to use the same pitchers every game, or using starting pitchers out of the bullpen in consecutive games isn’t how the game was intended to be played. You can continue to try to defend this, but it’s obvious that they threw a solution in without checking the numbers first. So they’re easy fix is lowering hitter pxp instead of reevaluating and adjusting the individual hitter pxp values to balance them with pitching values.
