What about these two clips? Just because you want a pitch to go somewhere doesn't mean it will go there. I think you're the one who's playing dumb here and being blind to the different outcomes that could occur based on user input variations. Release point corresponds to the placement on the meter or the analog btwCool videos, but what point in the video did he receive the ball from the catcher and have the runner beat? Find me some cool Adam Otavino missed tag compilations. Because at the end of the day, this was a post about a missed tag. But, you Mr.... You blow things out of proportion. Watch some baseball if it ever comes back on.
Ok, I'm not going to back into this again. I know tag animations are not the most realistic; in fact it's one of the things I think needs to be improved the most from this year. But to blame your loss on one play seems a bit overdramatic to my liking at least.
To blame my loss on an extra innings blown tag call that ends the inning is dramatic. You're right my dude.
Ok, glad we can agree on something (I really hope you sense my sarcasm here). Score some runs in the bottom half and we'll talk later.

Ok whatever dude. Have it your way, while you max out your credit card playing a game you hate and complain about all the time

So baseball is one of the oddest games in the world without a doubt because there’s still things that happen in a game that have never happened before so showing videos is honestly pointless because there’s enough out there to help prove whatever you are arguing so showing videos is a mute point. With that said I think this play in reality was 50/50 programming issue and user input. To me it looks like you pulled him out of the lock in causing him to miss the tag, don’t know why you didn’t just stay in the lock in and not move, but whatever. Yes hopefully the programming should still allow him to tag the runner as he ran right by him, but I do understand that you left the lock in so it didn’t complete the tag. The game has flaws without a doubt that need to be fixed, but I do see a valid sensible reason why the tag wasn’t made.

@CCCStunna30 the point of my video was simply to show him "why I would throw that pitch out of the zone 0-2" like this is one of the most simple concepts in baseball. Making a batter chase 0-2.

So not to cause too much of an issue cause yes the game does have its flaws but I think that actually might have been on you not the animation. I think you told him to run up the 3b line right before the tag so he tucked his glove in to run and missed the tag. Yes he still should of tagged him but why have him run up the line when you had him dead to rights?
I’ve had that exact thing happen before only it was the catcher and there was no wild pitch. I tried to move up the line to tag the runner before he got to the plate, so the runner ran right through the catcher and scored. The tag animation seems to get overridden by moving the player.

This was the top of the fifth inning . . . you had five more innings at bat to score one run to tie and two to win. Come on, a one run lead is definitely not insurmountable, so why blame your loss on one play? Sure, it's frustrating, but it sounds like you let that get to you the rest of the game. And yeah, why throw something way outside to Sheffield? Perhaps you were afraid he was actually going to get a hit with two strikes to take the lead.
Also, maybe examine your CAP's defense at catcher. When I put guys like Carlos Santana or Gary Sanchez behind the plate, it just doesn't compare to Posey's superb blocking abilities for stuff in the dirt. Some people really sleep on defense ratings on certain positions like C or 1B that don't get the ball hit to them in high frequency.
Maybe switch to pure analog instead of meter pitching for increased levels of user input. It's worth trying at least if you haven't already . . .
About spending money on the game, that probably makes you invest more time and effort than you otherwise would. I know a lot of people do it, but spending $1,500 to get Mantle, Sheffield, and Biggio doesn't automatically increase your chances of winning in this game. Plenty of free cards out there who rake (i.e. POTMs, future stars, TAs). So maybe you wouldn't feel this let down if all you did was spend $60 upfront, but no one's stopping you from buying stubs in-game. Try giving it a rest for a day or two and think it over, that might help you see the bigger picture of issues like this a bit more.
But seriously, this forum has turned into a cesspool for players complaining about in-game issues and frustrations. One might wonder if that's the primary focus of users discussing MLB the Show 20 on this forum. It's a simulation video game; no one expects it to be a perfect experience, much less to win every game. If you don't like it, no one's forcing you to keep playing. Maybe the card drops throughout the year, including collections and new pack releases have sucked you in to spending tons of cash every year. Hey, it's making a profit for SDS. There's plenty of other things to do now and in the next few months, find something you actually enjoy I guess.
So just accept the problems in the game instead of sharing them in hopes of them getting addressed for a better gaming experience?
No . . . there's always going to be issues with gameplay, it's not a perfect system. All you complainers should find something else to do instead of spending all day playing a game you don't actually enjoy playing. Isn't that a bit counterintuitive?
Imagine if nobody complained about souvenirs in 18 or the slow pitch speeds or the terrible hitting or how you could immediately return to first on a steal attempt safely. Imagine if nobody complained about how bad the fielding was (including real MLB players) earlier this year. Bunt cheese from a few years ago, slow menu speeds, online requirements for Griffey etc etc. Think about how much has been improved in part to the complainers. If we all just downplayed everything this game could be a lot worse. Just something to keep in mind when you want to talk about complainers.
Complaints can be made in a civilised way. Whether it is a thousand redundant posts here on TSN or a single constructive post to which others express their agreement and then move on past the issue, the outcome is still the same - it is noticed, investigated and added to the priority list. Where they get their most useful feedback is usage data (all players), surveys (with specific questions) and focus groups (the ability to go into detail about topics and ask further questions seeking clarification).
These former problems - bunt cheese, online grinding requirements, fielding, and especially slow menu speeds - 100% guaranteed they weren’t fixed because of thousands of complaints.
Bunt cheese - gameplay data will have been the symptom, followed up in focus groups.
Grinding - probably surveys and focus groups.
Fielding - new fielding logic, anything new will have some bugs that surface once use increases 100,000%.
Slow menus - Completely rebuilt to improve performance because it was clearly slow anyway without requiring feedback to tell them that.Don’t get me wrong, complaints have their place. But what happens here on TSN is over the top and redundant. You only have to read through a thread on Operation Sports to realise that. No wonder the devs talk about the feedback they see on that site in a positive way.
No disrespect to you or anybody else here specifically.

Why would you throw it that far outside? Missed input? I wouldn’t throw a ball that could possibly get passed the catcher with a man on 3rd. It’s called situational baseball. Sure it’s a strikeout pitch , but you should have been trying to pop him up or get his timing off enough to force a weak grounder. Not to mention you cancelled the tag the moment you ran to third, should have just waited. It’s a computer game, it read “run towards third” where in real life he would have tagged him and then ran. The problem is this isn’t real life, the game read your input and therefore didn’t complete the tag. Simple as that.
Should he have been out? Yes, but he wasn’t due to user input. ( not to mention a poor pitch selection) the other scenario is lag... on that dudes screen his guy may of already slid in before the tag, I have it happen all the time stealing second ( thAt and the dumb runners don’t slide correctly)

@T_H_O_R_Storm my man. thanks for using some logic. You assclowns saying that I always blame SDS. This was literally my breaking point this was my first post here all season? @DrewshBag420 You can keep sucking me, but the problem isn't the fact that I threw the ball away. The problem is the ball beat a 53 speed runner to the dish and was clearly out. This shoudn't be a part of the game. Stop defending a broken [censored] game that you are having success with this year. It's most likely because this game [censored] blows and offers no competitive advantage. SDS can keep running their gambling machines online and you can defend them all you want. Doesn't take away from the fact that they do nothing but create content which was cool at first, but now is all recycled. Nothing changes with the game. Go ahead send us another survey to make people think you're actually going to do something. It's absolute dogshit and I really hope it's fixed on the new console.
Wah wah wah wah wah...2 posts from you and they are all whiney comments

This is depressing to watch. How could anyone take a win or loss seriously in this game with stuff like that happening?
-
This guy spent $1500 on stubs? Any negative events that happen to this guy...I’m more than okay with.
-
@jhaberle 1500 what? Certainly not dollars... that would have been ridiculously dumb.
-
He wants his 1500 stub entry fee back , because he chose to throw a ball away in the dirt and lost because of it
-
Yeah that tag should have got him, but him pulling up and running towards third makes it look like the user did that and it could have [censored] up the tag. Also WHY would they be throwing all-out meter sliders in the dirt in that situation?! That was ridiculous unless their whole plan was to try and get a lucky bounce and bait the runner, which is crazy dumb.
