Getting thrown out at 1B from RF is definitely possible and has happened before.

I will say though, I got thrown out at 1B from RF with Trea Turner running last year. Probably would never see that irl.

    More 9-3 outputs...

Should happen more when guys jog slowly on singles. Plenty of RFs just let the guys loaf...

    1. Right fielders throwing you out at first base on a base hit.

    2. Any runner tagging up from third, getting thrown out at the plate when a cutoff man is used. I don’t care how slow the player is. This just isn’t possible because of the extra time it takes.

If you know how to do a proper relay, it’s fast enough to get a runner

Yeah, and I’ll bet if you “properly” flap your arms like a bird, you can fly too.

1.) I got thrown out from RF once in college.

    And also once in HS.

2.) can’t attest to this personally. Given my, ahem, speed deficiencies as seen in #1, I wasn’t allowed to tag up very often in marginal situations.

Were you a catcher or third baseman?

Catcher. But I wasn’t even a fatty beef Wellington or anything. I was just slow as [censored].

Bautista’s arm was far above average at that point in his career.

Bautista’s arm was far above average at that point in his career.

My main point is that it happens fairly frequently in actual play. Obviously, easier is the fielder has a cannon, but Roger Bernadina near the end of the clip was a journeyman player with a noodle arm (by 2014)...

Put Albert Pujols in the mix, lots of RFs would have a shot at nailing Mr. Zero-speed at first...

So much wrong in this thread, and all from one person.

I seriously suggest you go to youtube and search for the things you've said are impossible, and watch the impossible happen.

Better still, if baseball starts this year, take the time to watch a few games. You will likely see all sorts of impossible things.

Be careful criticizing this game. SDS just removed my thread criticizing their product. We're being watched.

Not all the time. I've thrown someone out from right field a couple of times.

If your 2nd baseman dives for a ball that gets through the 1st baseman will cover 1st expecting a throw from 2nd

I defend this game a lot, but not this! Base running is terrible and the runners speed is tuned way too low. In showdowns I stopped tagging up if the runner has less then 70 speed ( which is higher than Betts). Yelich would never get thrown out on a high double off the wall... and Sandburg got caught stealing by Sanchez on a 2-0 count, low slider, and I had an extra lead. How else am I supposed to steal?!?

If I remember right, it was one of these throws to first where he hurt his shoulder and never had that arm strength again.

I did played some organized baseball back in Arizona and got thrown out from right field a bunch of times. I am a catcher/corner infielder not fat but I am super slow to get out of the box lol. It got so bad that one time a RF who threw me out once before, was playing LF and successfully threw me out from LF. It was all on me, It didn't even cross my mind he was going to attempt a throw. After all, I was a part time truck driver for FedEx and they were laughing saying I was pulling doubles which at the time I was in real life and in baseball.

You guys can’t read, can you? And thanks to the poster before you for the you tube clip, but What part of a guy TAGGING UP FROM THIRD BASE ON A FLY BALL TO THE OUTFIELD, do you not understand?

The clip is of Altuve getting thrown out on a relay after advancing several bases.
