@drhm100_xbl said in Best monitors for MLB The Show 21 Online? And price:
So I live in Canada so prices might be different but its not so much that I can't afford a good one, because I have enough money just don't want to spend too much on one when I can get a solid one for a good price.
What do you recommend to someone for a gaming monitor especially for this game?
I watched a video and seen the differences and couldn't believe it.
I'm not too smart with the whole FPS and hz stuffDo not buy a monitor just for MLB the show. Save your money.

@jeroxlaykeatat said in How is the new Kershaw ?:
Is the card great like it was a few years ago when it was a free card, or a little lackluster like last year or whenever they made another one?
Thanks
Definitely good if you know how to use him. Guys will say he’s trash but aim the first 2 pitches they throw out of the zone, Then be surprised when the one they throw in the zone is nuked. If you can get ahead he’s probably one of the top 5-8 starters in terms of best strikeout options. Probably won’t be blowing anybody away though.

@drhm100_xbl said in We need this fixed in gameplay: Perfect swings resulting in outs:
I've been getting tired of this lately seeing it more and more now than I was before. Why is this a thing?
Heck I'd take a base hit if you want just please no hits that are caught every time or grounders to first on a perfect swing.
We get penalized for getting a perfect hit? How does this even remotely make sense?
So your saying that basically we get penalized for good timing and yet sometimes you can get bases from lates to very early -very lates, why is this still even a thing?
Also I notice people saying how last year the hitting was easier, is that likely due to people saying it was too easy lolYou’re right about hitting being easier last year. SDS’s idea of perfect timing is flawed. A perfect timed swing on an away pitch goes up the middle 7/10 times. I have noticed after the content update that significantly more line drives are getting down for hits with good contact hitters. They’re definitely doing some secret changes.

First off, I applaud San Diego Studios for listening to problems the community has with the game and at the very least making some effort to address them. I say some effort because some of those problems are still problems. Sinkers should not warp to home plate but that's not what this is about. Now with that being said, the problem is the timing windows.
On the outside part of the plate, a good majority of "Late" and "Just Late" swings are not really that late if late at ALL. It feels like you almost have to be out in front of a fastball on the outer third to line it the opposite way. You can't let the ball get deep on you at all and that's a problem.
The inside part of the plate is worse. It's ridiculous how far in front of a high and tight fastball you have to be to have a "perfect" swing. Even worse, the "Later side of good" situation. If you were ACTUALLY on the later side of good on an inside pitch (assuming good contact), at the absolute worst you'd be taking it to left center with a RHH and you wouldn't lose 20mph in exit velo in the process like in this game. What masked this problem last year before timing windows were changed was the ball being significantly bigger and brighter. The ball was easier to track, making it easier to hit. Depth perception wasn't a problem like in this game with the ball being so small. If you disagree with that statement at all, go into practice mode and have the pitcher throw sliders and curveballs across the bottom of the zone. Have fun with those late swings.
My solution? Eliminate the "early side of good" and "the later side of good" pitch feedback, and then fix the timing windows accordingly.
Will any of this happen? I HIGHLY doubt it. And again i'm not bashing the game or the developers. I just think this is too big of an issue for it to not have been addressed already. -

Funny how nobody ever complains because a hitter card is too good. I really hope SDS continues resisting the community's efforts to turn this game into a mindless arcade slugfest.
Because pitching is considerably better than hitting.
A quick look at the current ranked seasons rankings reveals that a majority of the best players have batting averages well over .300 and in many cases over .400. Most of them also have terrible ERAs. But please, tell me more about how much better pitching is.
The best players have $300-$400 gaming monitors with 1ms response time and the best connection you could possibly have. This game is a mess. You can't sit back and call this a good baseball game and defend it when there's major problems with hitting especially, pitching, and fielding.

Swinging early is how you easily gain loft IRL. That's also why most of the big home run hitters don't have a super high average, they sell out for fastballs. The ones that do are usually generational talents. Bonds, Griffey, Vlad Jr and Sr, etc.

...So the new Roberto Perez doesn't have the catcher pop time quirk? His live series card has it but not the Awards card? Major confusion. It's ROBERTO PEREZ for god's sake.
Edit: He has it now, Thanks SDS

People have been making these pronouncements for many years now, and yet the game lives on.
hitting has never been this bad though. Hitting in 19 and 20 was miles better than the steaming pile we've got with this game.

Sometimes you look back and go "why the heck did i post this?" That's me currently. Nothing here was said that hasn't been said a million times already.

@whitejw98_psn said in This game is just rubbish:
I'll never understand what goes on in the mind of someone who plays a video game they hate, and their first thought is "Strangers on the Internet must know how much I hate this!" If it's that bad, just quit playing and move on with your life.
That's what a community forum is for. If someone is going to voice their frustration with the game, this is the place to do it. It's for the betterment of the game. If you don't like seeing these types of posts then don't click on them.

100% agree...someone will come along saying it sounds like a contact swinger...but I hardly ever use contact swing. I probably use it less than 1% of the time and that is on two strike counts. I could list about 15 things with hitting that seem different lately, but it all just seems off and I am having trouble adjusting.
I never use contact swing either. Besides I knew about the patch that attempted to nerf contact swings (failed) and reduce the accuracy of ppp (failed again). But I was hitting fine after that patch. Hitting seems just a little off here recently. I'm still winning about the same but my opponents and I are defiantly hitting less xbhs
They definitely did nerf them. They aren't anywhere near as powerful as they once were. Once you get ahead and they go to contact swinging most of the time it's an easy way to get them chasing.

@warpedzilla_psn said in Can someone explain to me...:
And of course dude somehow launches a 3-run HR with the very next batter on a high sinker after not being able to touch the ball other than the 1 hit previous 3 innings. Oh and the HR didn't even have the ball touching pci. Grrrr. Lol
"On a high sinker"

@vagimon_psn said in HOF pitch speeds:
They can keep the speeds as is, but give me a little more leeway with the timing windows.
Agree. I can pull an inside fastball foul about 10 times in a row or get jammed trying to sit back. Hardly ever do I sent it down the line or get a base hit through the gap. I think everyone would benefit from the speeds getting turned down also.
-
Would be cool, but he doesn't have outlier anymore which kinda sucks. I pitched my only perfect game this year with his future stars version so i'll always like him.

@iambatman7777777 said in HOF is on crack:
HOF is indeed on crack. In previous years, I was always a .290-.300 hitter. This year I legitimately haven't cracked .250 in any season so far.
it's because pinpoint pitching is too easy and many people have mastered it
Nope. Hitting was going to be harder this year without pinpoint anyway. It seems like they juiced up the pitch speeds, pitch break, and timing windows. The ball is also smaller. Everything needs to be toned back about 3 notches and they need to completely redo the sinker...
-
@spc_garza_psn said in please fix the sinker for the 1000th time:
Maybe place your PCI just a little under? Why should they patch something that “you” can’t hit?
Because it's broken, that's why. You wouldn't see everybody complaining if that wasn't the case.

Possible end locations for pitches using pinpoint pitching increased by 30%
-
Foul balls reduced by 80% and will no longer be able to foul off pitches bouncing in the dirt or off the screen.
-
contact swing is completely removed
-
baserunners will whipe the [censored] off their ears from having their heads lodged up their asses.
-
no more, way late, off target, out of the zone, bullshiit bloop singles to the opposite field.
-
pitch speeds will be turned down, so an Adderall prescription will no longer be needed to hit.
-
people who freeze the game will be publicly shamed in town Square. Along with bunt cheesers, bunt dancers, the people who jump up and down before catching a fly ball, and the people who still try to r2 even tho it's been patched.
-
99 ohtani is now at LF with a SP secondary that will allow him to pitch every 5 games.
I agree with all except the pitch speeds. I am 35, not the best and I can turn on fastballs pretty easily. So I don't think that's an issue with the game most likely just YOUR reflexes. Or possibly the screen and internet you use.
No no no. Pitch speeds need to be turned DOWN. Plus the ball visibility needs to be tweaked. There's time where you literally can't see the the ball because it's so tiny.
If your having trouble seeing the ball maybe you should try strike zone views... Just because you are slow and can't deal doesn't mean they should be turned down to cater to you lol...
I already use strike zone. The size of the ball is way smaller in this game compared to last year, The ball is also more dull. I'm not talking about hitting on veteran difficulty here. I'm talking legend difficulty.
