An off question, but didn't want to make a new subject. I never really play online, but is worthless to play over wireless and cross-play?

Played my first match of the year. I would have to swing at pitcher motion and would be late to a 80 mph changeup. I'm not a swing at anything person, but it felt like I had to predict the throw and swing or not before the pitch was thrown.

A fly ball hit 10 ft away from an outfielder would always land before I could start motion to it. Not sure if it's crossplay or wifi or that people are just used to freeze frames of the game online as it plays out.

When I finished Brett program I thought I'd try because I'm still about 500k from finishing live and don't wanna thing about how much card flipping that is... but I guess I'll survive offline.

I just like to play with friends on couch play, online works like a slow moving zoetrope.to me.

  • Let’s get a 99 Buxton All Star card

Buxton will likely get one too. Just not a 99. His contact might be suspect.

I would say this year his batting avg. has been weak, but he's made good hard contact, although I'd agree he is way more strike out prone.

Historically, he's close to 250 and last year's .300+ might be an outlier. I think a little bit of bad luck this year, but his career has been bad luck and filled with injuries... I mean when you come back from a mild injury in a career year (2021) and immediately are shutdown because of a hit by pitch in the hand the first game back. That is bad luck.

I think the only thing that should really push him to 99 if that happens (i'd be happy with 97-98) is the defensive stats. A full healthy year and he should be a top gold glove candidate. Has the highlight real of unlikely catches to weigh in.

nah - literally people are attracted to even round numbers and 25 intervals. The 99 also works. It's why supermarkets use em.

I see the same drop by 1 post after I make 10-25 k off the same card after 5 sales all the time. All in a few minutes.

Read "Propaganda" Edward Bernays - doesn't teach this particularly but modern advertising in general. Basically, how people are programmed to think. It's how everything is sold since the 40/50's.

Not saying the drop by one people can't make stubs. But attractive numbers get quicker movement is it.

And often you can bid war and drop back to just before the bid war gets too far... and they'll lose out and you can gain a couple k by a quick back off if it's just two.

a bit of trolling into someone into going to far - but not for someone putting in 10-20 bids then actually playing a game then going back.

I like Jon Gray a little more. His fastball always seems to hit spots. I like walker a little more than Sale for some reason cause Sale seems to never get a strike when I actually need it.

Oh my!!! Yet another "I'm going to get a lawyer because of pack odds" post!!!

Not a single other person has ever brought a lawsuit...or even found a lawyer who would entertain the idea of bringing a lawsuit over pack odds...I wonder why?

Oh, it's because it would be a frivolous lawsuit that has a 0% chance of winning and not worth their time. That is even with them charging you money for their time, all the lawyers would rather spend their time on lawsuits that aren't frivolous and are worth the time and effort to litigate!

Odds of finding a lawyer to litigate pack odds is worse than the odds of pulling Trout from a standard Show pack!!!

again pulled trout twice so those odds are better 17/18.

Most attorneys don't give a [censored] about chance of winning, it's about who is paying. Attorneys don't really benefit in the outcome just how much they're paid.

Look at all the election lawsuits over 2020 general... none stood a chance. 80+ suits and those hundreds if not thousands of attorneys had no problems although they knew it was a waste of time. Lol in fact, discovery in most of those cases proved the other side was committing election fraud, so they hurt their clients and went home with a nice pretty check.

You've pulled a Trout twice? Out of the hundreds (I may have even reached a thousand) of packs I've opened, I haven't seen Trout. And because his price is so high, I'd bet there are a lot of others in the same boat as me. I'd say you have good pack luck.

Not this season though - in 17 and 18 game got him. I wish I got him here. But I was amazed I got him early one of those seasons. The other was when 50 packs went to 50k, so I dunno if I was already 200 packs to 300 packs in at that point.

Otherwise, I played from like 08-19 and took a break until this year - so maybe luck isn't that great. But got a Tatis early on this year which was probably the best pull I've gotten.

Not a good idea to automatically undercut/overbid by a lot. you dont know who that next person coming is going to be. I always coming back after 2 or 3 other listings to check( a lot of the time they have filled and i would have cost myself stubs by doing larger amounts) if there is little other activity i continue small amounts, only if there seems to be a lot of others do i do large amounts.(or walk away and wait till later)

agreed - trying to help newbies.

I was very wary about futures of the franchise for a while. They've been pretty stable recently so I've been dabbling.

I most worry about new programs - unless you get in on the early minutes. I got the home run derby series + 100k by flipping em when it popped up new items available in marketplace. Within a half hour I walked away because it was too saturated.

I just argue undercutting by a good amount and getting a sale in less than a minute is better than just dancing around and cutting by one stub and taking 30 minutes when you could have flipped that same card five times already.

I've definitely seen a lot of overpays/undercuts by thousands which I just assume is sony or someone who really wants the card - keep it to 25-100 is my motto - again unless i really need it. (but I'm only sharing advice cause I'm about at my end for the game already, only do solo and am close enough to Brett/Live)

  • MrKat_PSNM MrKat_PSN

Quick help for people looking for stubs.... don't pay just flip!

    simple math equations for cards.

ya just gotta beat the 10% tax.

so make sure you have a good margin over 10%

So buy a card at 10,000 when you see the sell is something like 13,000

that's easy in your head cause 10% is 1,300 - so 1,700 profit.

HERE IS THE CATCH- you're competing so be ready to lower your price - why you would never buy at 10,000 when the sell is at like 11,250 - no profit and no room to move.

Also - people are psychologically attracted to certain numbers and things like 25,50,75,99.

You will see people going down by one each time. That's slower and a waste of time. Also, it's fun to troll those people at drop stub values of cards by a lot.

Hey, if you make 1k in a second over someone who spent 30 minutes dropping by one stub - go for it! They drop and drop- you go back to flipping with more stubs and they are at square one.

    Get flipping!

@painpa_psn said in Headliners choice pack question:

Exactly what would you sue them for?
You said you dont buy stubs and the packs you opened were rewards from completing content.

No, I've bought every choice pack this year, but have never paid for stubs. People do, and do buy stubs to afford the costs of that. Also, I would say somewhere down the line the flipped cards I used were paid for by someone. That's still money.

Not arguing for a suit, or saying there is a wrongdoing, but my individual experience does not reflect their advertised "odds" which involve transactions with an in-game monetized currency.

Again moreso - is there actually data to support they are actually providing 1:3/1:3 Diamonds? If not they are advertising that and even a fraction off could be taking money from actual people out there.

I really, really don't understand why so many people are so behind a multibillion dollar company that could easily provide the data.

I care for the people who work there, but if it could be no people and all profit, the board would make that decision in a second. I'm lost in why if an algorithm that might be taking money from people is a good thing to defend.

(full disclosure - I have bought and some sold shares of SONY - and have made a minor profit, but wouldn't defend any company even ones I still own.

It's foolish because the capitalist system we live in dictates that you all only matter as far as your contribution to the overall profit of these companies. If a .011 difference could make a difference in monetization albeit harming people with little chance of repercussion its worth it.

Sacklers are living high as billionaires after knowingly their choices killed people... absolutely no admission of guilt although their company was guilty of felonies. Greed is good!)

Even 20 would be way below 1 in 3 odds... so that is pointless to bring up.

Second, why would anyone count when playing a game especially when I know how to flip cards and make the mondy anyway.

Third, and most importantly MONEY!!!!! you can buy stubs people pay money for them! If you go play the lottery it's highly regulated and statisticians must get it exactly right or they will crumble under lawsuits.

I wouldn't pay for stubs, but people do and if they're being sold for a product that doesn't give them what it promised it's a problem.

also I got a great deal on snake oil for ya - cures everything ever - just hit me up

It's not pointless to bring up, any court case needs concrete data, if you can't provide that, then you will be laughed out.

Also I'd read my comment again very slowly, about the risk vs reward on SDS's sides, it's heavily skewed towards losing, they would be posterboys for bad microtransactions and probably be sued into bankruptcy.

Thus, why I said subpoena the data. You don't have to actually sue if you raise reasonable concern, and they can prove their innocence with a simple release.

And bad programming happens all the time. It doesn't need to be nefarious. A single digit could be ripping off thousands of dollars just because of a mistake.

Also, don't be a tool. It's always profit over people. That is capitalism. You are only worth the money you provide or have in America.

Money is power, and greed is good.

Where is your reasonable concern considering you can't even say how many you've opened? Do you think a judge is going to take you seriously?

    I can't file a subpoena. I am not a lawyer/atty.

And a judge would literally take a represented group on their word as it would be a simple thing for a company to prove.

It would be a small ask, especially on a simple data request which involves nothing proprietary just that a company is providing what it advertised, which happen all the time.

Take you at your word that you don't know how many you've opened?

So since it happens all the time, please answer why EA or SDS hasn't been served a subpeona yet? If it's that simple, it would have happened years ago

Because no one cares it's a video game. Many gamers aren't taken care of and exposed to micro-transaction warfare by companies. I get it you love SDS and hope they get rich off people.

I'm not even advocating a suit or anything. I'm just saying I'd like to see they're providing what their promising especially because I haven't really seen the odds they're promising. If people are buying stubs with real money, and getting ripped off - go ahead and defend that. I don't like to see that.

Again full disclosure- when I buy the show... which i have many times... I buy it and get through by never paying a dime more. That's me. I can get 100K-300K in an hour no problem at the right times.

I was worried about the people that pay. You keep worrying about Sony with a market cap of $105B although an awful showing with a 35% ytd market drop on NYSE.

If you think no one cares because it's a "video game", then there is no point to this conversation, you are delusional, There are plenty of passionate people who would be more then happy to do that if it were that simple

You are right. It is not that simple. I have made it out that way, and that is wrong.

Involves much more than a piece of paper. Which is why stuff like this isn't typically done. Not unheard of, but not typical.

Like I said I couldn't do it, nor do I actually accuse them of wrong, I'm just saying my experience doesn't back up their advertised numbers... ever in any year... for all I know profiles who start with the letter Z get 1:1 and M gets 1:10 and it all balances out. Who knows.

Just seeing what other people thought.

You can get a low diamond ls choice round instead of headliner choice round in the pack

You can? I've only seen headliners, 90+ live series, and golds

on PS press square and it advertises odds... no idea on other systems.

My apologies, I could have swore it was only 1:3 for a 90+ and 1:1 for gold

I have only got 90+ and golds too... although one was Arenado when he was expensive early... so I cashed it for live series. Worthless now.

I've at least got Tatis off regular packs this year, past years have got Trout off em twice... but you get so many of em who knows the odds.

I know the system isn't completely broken, just maybe flawed in what it advertises.

So far this year I have bought every one from the shop.

    It's 1:3 chance top diamond.
    It's 1:3 chance lower diamond

so far I've got two diamonds out of maybe 20-30 out of buying or winning out of conquest. Those numbers either mean I am extremely, extremely unlucky or they are completely lying about actual statistics.

I can make 25k stubs quickly as everyone can, but do they have any proof data to actually show their posted numbers match what they post?

Since they actually charge for stubs, it's basically gambling odds so they should be able to legally say we sold this many, and our data shows it was 1:3 odds.

I mean anyone out there a lawyer and could file a subpoena? Just as a case study I'd be interested. My sample size is small, but doesn't even come close to what they are promising.

I mean even if it came out to 1:3.25 in their data... that means they are falsely advertising for a monetized system of in game currency purchases.
