Let’s get a 99 Buxton All Star card

Well, obviously Goldy going 1-1 with a 2 run shot gets a card. Kershaw gets a card for his inning of work.
It was a solo HR by the way.

I'd say Clase for sure.
They can't give them all to AL players can they? Goldy did go 1-1 with a HR and there was not much else to write home about offensively. He wasn't allowed a 2nd at bat like Stanton and Buxton.
Speaking of that, why did Soto play the whole game?

Yep, my bad. Forgot Manny Sucksado hit into a DP right before that.

I’d like a good Kershaw card too.

I just did a little quick tally and here is what I found
AL
- Otahni got one plate appearance while Martinez got 2
- Devers got 1 plate appearance while Ramirez got 2
- Most of the other starters got 2 at bats as did their backups.
NL
- Betts got one at bat while Soto replaced him and got 3
- Goldy got one at bat while 3 reserves each got one (why so many first basemen?)
- William Contreras got one at bat while Garret Cooper got 2 and Pujols got 1)
- Jeff McNeil got one at bat while Jake Cronenworth got 2
Didn't the fans vote in the starters because these were the guys we wanted to watch play the game? I realize that they tried to get everybody in but it seemed like they were poorly planned. Maybe some of these guys only wanted one at bat as to not tire themselves out but it just seems strange to me.

1 inning per pitcher is annoying too, but far more logical.
Heck, Pujols got one AB against a RHP which he hasn't been able to hit well in half a decade. This game wasn't managed for a win, or fan enjoyment.

I think some guys don’t want to waste their energy for the all star game. It’s a long season. Also I thought Ohtani got 2 at bats.

You're right, I was looking at the box score and missed that he had a walk.

Buxton will likely get one too. Just not a 99. His contact might be suspect.
I would say this year his batting avg. has been weak, but he's made good hard contact, although I'd agree he is way more strike out prone.
Historically, he's close to 250 and last year's .300+ might be an outlier. I think a little bit of bad luck this year, but his career has been bad luck and filled with injuries... I mean when you come back from a mild injury in a career year (2021) and immediately are shutdown because of a hit by pitch in the hand the first game back. That is bad luck.
I think the only thing that should really push him to 99 if that happens (i'd be happy with 97-98) is the defensive stats. A full healthy year and he should be a top gold glove candidate. Has the highlight real of unlikely catches to weigh in.

I liked how it was when the position starters got 2 abs in 4 innings or so and in the 5th and 6th the reserves came in an played till the 8th or 9th when the manager got whoever was left into the game.

So do the all star not come out until tomorrow?

Technically. It will be tomorrow for most of us. The West coast might sneak in tonight but even that is doubtful. I believe it was about 2:00 am eastern last night for the HR Derby cards and it ended earlier.

I'm pretty sure it was just before midnight central time for HR cards last night, at least I THINK I went to bed at midnight.
I hope tonight they drop somewhat soon, but either way, we will all enjoy base round cards while a couple dudes brag that they got rare tier 47 times without providing any proof.

Checking their twitter it was 12:26 my time (1:36 Eastern) when they posted the base rounds for the HRD.
The HRD derby is also probably easier as the rounds determined the rarity. For the ASG cards they have to figure out who to hand out cards to, what round they will be in and how to skew their attributes to hit the correct overall. While most of us have solid ideas about who it should be there is no guarantee SDS will what we expect.
-
My guesses:
Stanton- MVP obviously
Buxton- winning HR obviously
Clase- 3 Ks and a save
Goldy- HR
Manoah- 3 Ks
Helsley- hut 103 mph twice. -

Oh for sure, the game ended much later tonight, and they have to figure out how they want to balance the game. Either way, I'll try to stay up. Grinding mini seasons and getting those PXP for the program.

I'll find out in the morning. It is time to get some sleep.

Jose Ramirez had 2 hits, I believe that was the only multi hit game but he just got an HRD card and they can't all be AL. Still, he's my wild card pick if one of the other 6 I said doesn't get it. They could also throw Musgrove some love as he pitched well.
Edit: Gimenez made a pretty cool double play. Maybe they give that one out. Or Mookie or Acuna for that first run.
Not much happened in this game unfortunately. NL got two early runs and then went to bed as they do every year.

If he gets a legit card after tonight’s game he’ll probably be the best CF in the game. I’ve heard people like the HRD Rodriguez but I know the all star cards are usually really good. Last years base round Xander was a beast.
Well it wasn't a 99 ovr,but pretty dam nasty nonetheless
