Griffey is more relatable to more that play the show than Mays. More people (myself included) have seen Griffey play live than they have Mays, seen Griffey on tv, collected his baseball cards, etc. Mays was an absolute stellar player but before many of our time. Sure we hear stories and seen the basket catch but never experienced it first hand. You have to factor all that personal aspect too when people want a card. Griffey absolutely would have a waiting list at 1 million.

I get that for all you younguns. I saw Mays play in person when I was 10 in 1965 when he hit 52 HR's...McCovey too. Koufax, Drysdale, Brock, Boyer, Rose and the Big Red Machine guys, Aaron etc.. I saw Griffey too and he had a great career but my heart is with all the Legends I grew up watching when I was first getting into organised ball. I see both sides though.

Very very cool! That explains why you have a soft spot for Mays. You are probably a select few on this board that got the honor to see some true legends. I was born in 83 and had the metrodome lol.

I had a game the other day, where I swore I should have had an extra run after a hr, but I didn't go back through to see, I had the lead so I wasn't worried, but now after you mention this, I'm pretty sure I lost a run there.

I think that is the coding of the game. For whatever reason, i never see many issues with 3b. Whether they are diamond or common. May have just not played enough but just my opinion

I was raking with his Players League card, and now can't hit with it. 🙂

84/72 contact should still play decent but definitely not as nicely as it did in back in May. I could see a potential Topps Now getting a little more of a contact boost in addition to the multi homer power.

Hits gaps on the reg. Sneaky power from both sides. He can pick it and has a cannon for an arm. Just a joy to play. Nothing here that's not to LOVE. Sold Banks for him and I have absolutely zero regrets.

92 Eddie Mathews, although he unfortunately has been relegated to a bench bat thanks to Killebrew.

I've never had success with a kaline card until this year. Solid card for me so far. Good pop, great defense in the outfield. I play him in left with gwynn in right
