If anyone really wants to do this, I highly advise reaching out to u/kasabe (Reddit) first. Check what his backlog is on logo creation, he has an entire portfolio of creations.

I’ve made stuff in the past and can show proof of work. Have talked to kasabe before, believe he also briefly did stadium builds.

  • Why does Billy Beane trade away Jeremy Giambi in Moneyball?

@whitejw98_psn said in Why does Billy Beane trade away Jeremy Giambi in Moneyball?:

Real life reason: he just wasn't that good. The movie makes the trade seem a lot more significant then I remember it actually being.

He wasn’t that good but in terms of what Beane was looking for, OBP, he was great. That’s what confuses me, like he fit the moneyball idea perfectly but the idea worked out better without him.

@kdclemson_psn said in Why does Billy Beane trade away Jeremy Giambi in Moneyball?:

The whole idea was that Beane is trying to fill the OBP gap after losing Jason Giambi and Johnny Damon in free agency. Giambi had a .404 OBP in 2002 and like a .390 OBP before getting traded in 2002, I understand the trade of Peña so the manager was forced to start Hattenburg, sure it fits the moneyball idea. But how does trading away OBP for Mabry who had only a .322 OBP that year make sense.

It just makes it seem like the Athletics started playing better when they didn’t commit as hard to moneyball and got rid of Jeremy or am I misinterpreting it?

I always thought it was them removing a distraction/problem

I get that, but like the whole idea at the start when Beane is talking to the other guys he’s trying to prove the point of like “don’t you guys get it, confidence, personality, intangibles don’t matter” like that’s part of his thing.
It just seems like they began winning when the committed less to their moneyball game.

  • Babe Ruth
  • KDClemson_PSNK KDClemson_PSN

Glad they got his stats right this year, should have a little more arm strength but wow good job

  • It’s November, baseball is over, and we have the last monthly moments program in game and the highest Babe Ruth card is an 88.
  • KDClemson_PSNK KDClemson_PSN

I think it’s kind of stupid that we can’t use great players until the game starts to die off. Like now the playoffs are over, content is winding down, less and less players are playing and we still don’t have the best version of Babe Ruth or Ken Griffey Jr. Maybe they drop them in the next inning program, but that’s still months of the year I missed not being able to use some of the best cards.

To me this sounds like you’re under attack by aliens. If you wear your tin foil hat or spread peanut butter on your head the aliens can not read your thoughts. For some reason they have possessed your PlayStation. They might be trying to make contact.

No this is a real thing

Kinda sounds like this video too, it’s a bit quieter in real life and lasts no more than a few seconds

  • KDClemson_PSNK KDClemson_PSN

This is gonna sound really weird to explain so unless someone knows exactly what I’m talking about you’ll probably be a little confused.

So basically you know the screen where it displays the lineups and pitchers before the game. On PS5 for me, my PlayStation makes this weird sound while on that screen (maybe it’s try to load the stadium in the background).

It kind of sounds like this video (https://youtu.be/yVnQh0F4_uQ) and if you’re close to the PS5 you can easily hear it in a quiet room. I’m in my college dorm and my PS5 is like two feet away from me while I’m playing so that’s when I started noticing it. It happens against the CPU and online. Anyone else experience this?

Find a job where you do as little work as possible while making the most you can. Hard to do, but not impossible.

My suggestion is to work for the government. To take it a step further, if you don’t have a soul, you could become a politician.

Ironically I’ve always wanted to be a politician lol

Apologies for not putting this in off-topic because threads just get buried there and I genuinely want good answers to read from.

How did you know when you were in the right career path for yourself? I’m currently majoring in something I don’t particularly like or enjoy. I’ve kinda wanted to be a teacher but I also want to have a big family so I’m not sure if that makes sense for me financially. Other than that I’m just kind of lost with what I want to do for my career.

I want a job that directly helps people too which is why I wouldn’t want to do something like marketing or say sports management because I genuinely want to help + have a positive impact on people.

  • Do formulated winning teams struggle in the playoffs because of small sample size?
  • KDClemson_PSNK KDClemson_PSN

Like the Rays clearly have a formula that wins over 162 games and is good for 100 wins, but is it possible that their tactics only work over the sample of a full season, whereas when you play 3 series and are expected to win every single one there’s more room for error because the unconventional tactics don’t have enough time and sample to be successful?

2009 I was a 6 year old so I didn’t get to stay up and watch the full game. Ironically enough, 2010-2011 was around the years I started watching every Yankee game. I’m now 18 and haven’t gotten to watch my team win a World Series.

Every year it’s the same thing, the same pain and heartbreak. Y’all act like all Yankee fans are spoiled, and it’s just not true. I’m an adult now and haven’t seen my team do anything important in the playoffs live. It’s the same heartbreak every single year.

And you likely miss out on Clemson in playoffs too this year.

As of right now, they are missing out on being in the top 25.

DJ sucks and we have no offensive line due to injuries. And nothing is being done about it. At the very least, Dabo should give another QB a shot, because from what I've seen so far, DJ's performance last year was a fluke.

    Are you a student here

I get it, but believe me, the Yankees will always be an institution of winning. They hit a major lull in the 80s and early 90s and came back as the best dynasty from 96-03 ( 4 WS championships and 6 pennants) in my lifetime. They will be back. And once they win it all, they'll just keep winning. Still, it sucks to watch them fall short.

Institution of winning? I watch them get to the playoffs to do nothing year after year. Those days are over. George Steinbrenner’s team was an institution of winning, I didn’t get to enjoy any of that

What do you do at SDS outside of the forums?

Everything related streaming, so Feature Premieres, Content Streams, Players League and so on. Either editing, doing graphics, directing, and sometimes even showing up on stream. That is how I got my nickname, "Control Room Collin" if you watch the streams. One behind the scenes secret, the entire Players League was broadcasted out of my living room.

Everything related to the Scouting Report.

And a whole bunch random things like the Instagram Filter in '20 and Twitch Drops. Lots of stuff to do! I come here because I like to be part of the community and engage with fans.

I know this is an old topic, but I wanted to ask. Who does the puppeteering for coach before streams? Just curious lol.

    Definitely Nick
