Enjoy it while it last before EA Sports decides to re-enter the marketplace & take a majority of your once loyal, but now feed up, customer base…literally the proof is in the overwhelming negative comments left on your own company-run forum LMAO

Wow the guys at SDS need to remove the bat from the area which best describes this decision and the state of the game more generally!! Someone needs to remind them that most of us just want to enjoy playing a video game & not feel like it’s being constantly being amended remotely simply to make gameplay and card acquisitions harder

Hi.
Is everyone else only getting about 3k XP for full game of ranked?I was getting about 6 to 7k xp before
It's been this way since the last patch. XP was shorted because of people XP boosting or something to that effect. So basically the community is now paying the price. Or something like that.

Happy Father’s Day to SDS and their hard working team for giving birth to another horrible version of MLB The Show!! Congratulations on spawning another [censored] of product and extending your streak of disappointing MLB fans everywhere with the same BS online gameplay that defies logical & most laws of physics!!
Just hope none of you have real children since even they would hate playing the abomination which your game franchise has become!!
-
Well once the game’s “random number generator” decides it’s your turn to lose an online game then your opponent will win regardless of the hitting mode they’re using…
If it’s not a bomb then it will be a “very late” swing that ends up going right pass a diamond fielder and/or some other ridiculous type of outcome which has nothing to do with user input of either player…meanwhile SDS continues to justify using the same flawed RNG code year after year despite all the (negative) feedback users give them right here in their own forum
-
I feel you man!! Seems like SDS needs to buy a Webster’s Dictionary so they can at least change the terminology or just admit that the feedback is complete BS…
Really hoping they stop taking advantage of their existing customer base but have a feeling SDS will continue recycling the same dumpster-fire version of this franchise until another company decides to enter the market.
That or the MLB yanks the licensing rights from SDS just to prevent them from selling a game that is pretty much an insult to how the game is playex

@johnny_reb34_psn said in disclaimer label on sports "sim":
In light of the fact EA sports has been sued countless times. And settled out of court more times than we'll ever know for deceptive and fraudulent practices. I have no idea about SDS or Sony, but odds are there is some litigation involved there as well.
But for transparency purposes and to protect themselves, somewhat, from legal hassles wouldn't it be more ethical for them just to blast a big label out similar to "This game is for fun, it is not a true sports simulation so results and outcomes will be randomized". I mean, they have the disclaimer about not playing too long because of headaches and all. They warn us about the gore and blood. Labels everywhere.
Basically there are disclaimers all over the gaming world. The most prominent cases you'll hear about in the EA world is about the "loot boxes" and all the class actions suits brought against them for promoting, basically, online gambling for little kids. Some countries won't even allow EA games to be sold because of it. It's why they have odds on the packs indicating your chances of pulling those coveted cards. They had to be sued in order to inject some ethics and transparency.
That, though, is tame to compared to all the class actions suits filed against them for liability regarding player depression and psychological side-effects (some pretty serious) resulting from deceptive marketing. Emotional distress through civil lawsuits.
People do get pretty "involved" (for a better word) in these games and are driven by the human competition they trust is the foundation of the game. Especially some of the younger customers and more impressionable don't understand these games are all for fun with not a lot of emphasis on skill.
I know back in college I took a corporate ethics course. To protect themselves (and possibly because they were ran by fundamentally good people) most of the Fortune 500 had whole legal teams that did nothing but investigate and guarantee transparency in marketing. In the long run the money spent saved millions/billions in liability suits.
Just food for thought. I do love the game, but I understand what it is. Little Junior out there with some deep-seated issues anyway, might not have as healthy of an understanding. It would be a shame (unethical) to continually fuel the manipulation through posts suggesting they need to "get gud" and practice a lot. Just be up front.
Drop the "tin-foil" replies to people that have serious concerns about WHY things happen the way they do in the game. This only reinforces a lack of ethics. I mean if a federal team of investigators did some serious snooping do you think they would determine that all suggestions about AI manipulation is unfounded?
It's fine to talk up all the great missions, cards, etc. They are a fun element in the game. But don't tell people you don't know (so don't understand their level of mental maturity or stability) how to become accomplished at a game that isn't about skill.
Not trying to be crabby, just trying to help.

Would he be banned from the game or just the forum?
They will ban you from the game for talking bad to them. Trust me I know haha. Now how legal that is who knows. I suppose everything is legal until a lawsuit says it isn’t.
Oh did not know that. The time I got banned I did not get banned from the game it was just the forum. Did not talk bad to them just was "talking bad" to someone else.
I’ll file the class-action lawsuit against them if the do since I already know it’s not legal unless perhaps they’re only banning people from playing the online portion of the game… even so most courts would probably rule against SDS for doing this especially since SDS does business in the most consumer-friendly state in the entire country!
-
Pretty obviously applies to the creators of this game
-
Or the fact that check swings no longer exist this year even if the swing feedback clearly shows the bat didn’t break the plane of home-plate…not sure which is more frustrating between the umps clearly making the wrong call OR the alternative “check swing” which looks like the MLB player is actually an 8-year old girl afraid of a baseball so he freaks the F out and takes a full swing while falling over his own 2 feet like he’s having a stroke/heart-attack which is unlike anything I’ve ever witnessed while watching an MLB game (heck my high-school team didn’t look this stupid trying to check swing even when facing Rick Procello who admittedly dominated our entire lineup of scrubs)
-
You would think so but per usual they’re scrambling to fix the entire game despite releasing the game almost 1 month into the MLB season
-
Meanwhile when you play online your relief pitchers are tired after 5-6 pitches & gassed by the time their pitch count hits double digits SMH

Is there a reason he was dropped from 67-65???
12 IP ZERO era....ZERO...6/6 saves, 14Ks...is it the 1.30 whip. pretty avg whip?
Shouldnt he be a high bronze at least?
Did he change from SP to RP/CP?
Nope, he has been a RP/CP the whole time. Im convinced these idiots don't watch baseball
The gameplay itself definitely supports your theory!! I mean these are the same idiots who rated Jason Bay higher than Kenny Lofton & gave him a 99 durability rating…both of which are patently absurd to pretty much any knowledge MLB fan
Dude, it’s a fantasy make believe game. If you don’t like Bay just don’t use him. There’s is nothing in this mode that reflects any kind of realism
I have nothing against Jason Bay since unfortunately his career was extremely short-lived due to the several serious injuries he suffered running into outfield walls!
So to call the guy "injury prone" would be an quite the understatement and all you have to do is spend 1-2 minutes reading his Wiki page to get the sense that he pretty much spent 1/2 of his entire career on the DL...which is why it's patently absurd to give him a 99 durability rating and makes it clear that no one at SDS really watches/follows MLB closely enough to properly rate these guys thereby explaining the original poster's confusion over why Alex Reyes wasn't upgraded while others were for no apparent reason.
Because durability has no meaning in DD
So why not just make everyone's 99 that way you can never loose pitchers to injury either? Or why not get rid of the durability attribute all together?

Wouldn’t expect a sale anytime soon from the greedy scumbags at SDS...
I take it you have not had any dealings with EA. SDS is great compared to them.
I’m not sure how that’s possible but I’ll take your word for it because my brain can’t comprehend how it’s possible. Guess I’m glad I haven’t bought an EA game in years

Yeah I’m not surprised though since SDS probably just repackaged last years game which had the same exact issues. Lucky if you get a single on a perfect-perfect in this game. Guess they didn’t have a dictionary on hand to lookup the meaning of “perfect” but it’s pretty annoyingly stupid

Plus that scenario is one person, in one game, for one inning. SDS statistics show that perfect/perfect input will have a good outcome 80% or more of the time. Swing those odds even more in your favor by having good players on your team.
SDS has done nothing to give me any faith in the statistics they released and until they show me otherwise I must assume these numbers are just another self-serving attempt by SDS to try & prevent the majority of its dissatisfied users from deciding to no longer buy the game and wasting their time/money.
SDS is a disgrace
Another year, another rendition of the same dumpster-pile of garbage SDS has been repackaging for the last 3-4 years?!?
How has gameplay gotten WORST over the past 3 years?!? SDS should be ashamed selling such a POS product
4th inning program XP only 3k??
Happy Father’s Day!!
I dont think I can take one more late game loss via contact swing bomb
Bet y’all can’t do what I just did!!
