    Patch this morning ??
  • jerseylonghornJ jerseylonghorn

Very disappointing!! SDS seems to only care about how much it can profit of each player this year to the point that their willing to go out of their to downgrade the overall user experience with the hope that it causes said user to spend a few more $ on stubs. While I’m all for companies profiting, in my opinion SDS’ has been too overzealous this year too the point that it may be sacrificing it’s future revenue potential.

I’m sure they won’t end up going bankrupt or anything but at least I’ll be reconsidering whether to buy the game next year because it kinda feels like SDS is taking advantage of the current state of affairs by essentially cashing in on the COVID-19 stimulus checks that at least some people may need at some point down the road...

  • This is hilarious. (Observation not a complaint)
  • jerseylonghornJ jerseylonghorn

Meanwhile when you play online your relief pitchers are tired after 5-6 pitches & gassed by the time their pitch count hits double digits SMH

  • How has gameplay gotten WORST over the past 3 years?!? SDS should be ashamed selling such a POS product

  • The Curious Case Of The “PERFECT” GROUNDBALL (a.k.a. 4-6-3 DP)
  • jerseylonghornJ jerseylonghorn

Pretty sick of timing up a ball perfectly only to have the RNG reward me with the “perfect groundball” hit right into the glove of a “perfectly” auto-shifted infielder so they can turn it into nothing but a taylormade double-play....

SDS really doesn’t know the definition of “perfect” because even they must know that the term “perfect grounder” defies logic unless it’s meant to refer to the perfect outcome from the opposing pitcher’s perspective!! They know MLB teams kept track of groundball/flyball rates, launch angle, etc. to make sure they’re not employing hitters that stupidly try & hit groundballs opposed to anything other than infield popflies

But all hail the Magic RNG I guess...joke

Is there a reason he was dropped from 67-65???

12 IP ZERO era....ZERO...6/6 saves, 14Ks...is it the 1.30 whip. pretty avg whip?

Shouldnt he be a high bronze at least?

Did he change from SP to RP/CP?

Nope, he has been a RP/CP the whole time. Im convinced these idiots don't watch baseball

The gameplay itself definitely supports your theory!! I mean these are the same idiots who rated Jason Bay higher than Kenny Lofton & gave him a 99 durability rating…both of which are patently absurd to pretty much any knowledge MLB fan

Dude, it’s a fantasy make believe game. If you don’t like Bay just don’t use him. There’s is nothing in this mode that reflects any kind of realism

I have nothing against Jason Bay since unfortunately his career was extremely short-lived due to the several serious injuries he suffered running into outfield walls!

So to call the guy "injury prone" would be an quite the understatement and all you have to do is spend 1-2 minutes reading his Wiki page to get the sense that he pretty much spent 1/2 of his entire career on the DL...which is why it's patently absurd to give him a 99 durability rating and makes it clear that no one at SDS really watches/follows MLB closely enough to properly rate these guys thereby explaining the original poster's confusion over why Alex Reyes wasn't upgraded while others were for no apparent reason.

  • I dont think I can take one more late game loss via contact swing bomb
  • jerseylonghornJ jerseylonghorn

Well once the game’s “random number generator” decides it’s your turn to lose an online game then your opponent will win regardless of the hitting mode they’re using…

If it’s not a bomb then it will be a “very late” swing that ends up going right pass a diamond fielder and/or some other ridiculous type of outcome which has nothing to do with user input of either player…meanwhile SDS continues to justify using the same flawed RNG code year after year despite all the (negative) feedback users give them right here in their own forum

  • How is this possible?
  • jerseylonghornJ jerseylonghorn

I thought the same thing after throwing 4 pitches!! I’m still looking for that “workhorse” RP to bring out of the pen to throw double-digit innings...sorry meant pitches

  • Sds this needs attention.

@Hubijerk said in Sds this needs attention.:

@ChArTeRBuS said in Sds this needs attention.:

Every “fix” they come up with isn’t a actual fix and it needs to stop. Base running is about as bad as ever since the “fix” to running back on pick offs. Now these guys can’t react to anything and even a single in the outfield gets them throw out at the next base.

I've seen some weird stuff since the last update. Double steals where the guy on 1st goes and the guy on 2nd doesn't, laying down bunts with speed guys only to have them jog lazily down to 1st, guy's not rounding 3rd and heading for home despite directionally advancing them... There was some issues before but I feel like some things got worse. Maybe it's a result of the fix one thing break 2 programming paradox.

At least they seem to be genuinely trying to work on things.

I’m sure their genuinely trying to work on things to ensure they maximize their chance for cashing in on the fact everyone is (still) stuck at home due to a global pandemic creating the perfect environment for these “random” fixes to work their magic and force players to spend more $$ on stubs to buy even BETTER player cards based on the flawed thinking maybe doing so will overcome these “random” weird occurrences and give them a better shot at winning a game they already paid for months ago when another full batch of “random” fixes happened to show up in the middle of the night with lethal effect on the prior version of the game so that’s why they had to buy the better player cards they had to replace for patch 1.10010101...or your guess is as good as mine but that’s the recurring nightmare of a problem which they genuinely seem to accidentally create every other week!

Some would also argue its the classic mistake of trying to make an extra $1 today to ensure you MINIMIZE future profits going forward...seems like an odd strategy since I hear next year is suppose to be the year most games are sorta focusing on with the PS5 (and Xbox game?) releases. But it’s their monopoly to lose so if that’s what they want to do I’ll suck it up now knowing that better MLB games may actually be closer than I thought possible 🙂

  • This game is pissing me off ...
  • jerseylonghornJ jerseylonghorn

Really not sure why they decide to lie about the difficulty level but agree that everything plays different depending on the game mode you're in....it is a joke but ultimately believe the joke with be on SDS when other video game companies realize they can re-enter the market for MLB games again since pretty much this entire forum seems pretty feed up with the blanant bad-faith effort put into this years game by SDS

  • Come on SDS
  • jerseylonghornJ jerseylonghorn

SDS is a joke so not surprised this game is a perfect reflection of the jokes that designed, created, and yes, continue to RE-write and manipulate the rules/outcomes to ensure they can take advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic by milking every last cent out of the same loyal fanbase which supported SDS for years until they became the sole MLB video game on the market.

Corporate greed at its finest but can't wait until they realize the jokes ultimately going to be on them when other companies realize the opportunity to steal a large portion of SDS's customers by producing a MLB game with semi-realistic gameplay that has a solid amount of content for fans to play with since at this point that's all SDS has going for it and even then they manipulate the Moments to make it harder than advertised to obtain said content.

Enjoy the short-term windfall while most of the nation is stuck at home but you might as well wave goodbye to all the potential long-term profits SDS could've raked in simply by not infuriating pretty much its entire customer base to the point that it jeopardizes losing its monopoly over the MLB video game market. Classic mistake by SDS thinking that there will be no long-term blowback caused by the damage they've done with this version of the game which is that they have no problem taking advantage of existing customers knowing that the CAN do it & the customer can't switch to another MLB game on the market ... at least until a rival company starts reading the majority dissent which is so loudly voiced right here in this forum!

  • Analysis of an opposite field home run
  • jerseylonghornJ jerseylonghorn

Looks like the ball never touched the bat obviously so not sure what caused the ball to get launched in the opposite direction at such a high velocity. Perhaps Arenado was using a corked bat of sorts just with an IED which exploded seconds before contact which would explain why the ball ended up over the opposite field fence...

But seriously it sure looks like he was early/very early on the swing and usually those types of swings don’t end up as opposite field bombs

  • jerseylonghornJ jerseylonghorn

@vipersneak_psn said in RNG in MLB The Show 2021 (survey):

Plus that scenario is one person, in one game, for one inning. SDS statistics show that perfect/perfect input will have a good outcome 80% or more of the time. Swing those odds even more in your favor by having good players on your team.

SDS has done nothing to give me any faith in the statistics they released and until they show me otherwise I must assume these numbers are just another self-serving attempt by SDS to try & prevent the majority of its dissatisfied users from deciding to no longer buy the game and wasting their time/money.

Because durability has no meaning in DD

So why not just make everyone's 99 that way you can never loose pitchers to injury either? Or why not get rid of the durability attribute all together?

  • Bet y’all can’t do what I just did!!
  • jerseylonghornJ jerseylonghorn

I feel you man!! Seems like SDS needs to buy a Webster’s Dictionary so they can at least change the terminology or just admit that the feedback is complete BS…

Really hoping they stop taking advantage of their existing customer base but have a feeling SDS will continue recycling the same dumpster-fire version of this franchise until another company decides to enter the market.

That or the MLB yanks the licensing rights from SDS just to prevent them from selling a game that is pretty much an insult to how the game is playex
