Might be the worst collection reward card ever. Collect all the Dodgers and padres for a pitcher without an offspeed pitch in a game where timing and pci placement are optional.

LS reward this year are a huge disappointment in general. Randy and mussina are great, but frank is a bench bat, clemente has a love it or hate it swing, young has horrible power, glaus is Jack of all trades master of none, Gwynn has power in the 30s, gibson and grady are already replaced, keuchel is good, but people are beginning to hit him. The rest are of corse not great, prince fielder never gets a good card and he suffers from the abundance of first baseman.

Edit. Forgot about Utley, Utley is a win.

The game as a whole has been underwhelming this year, but at least Ridin’ dropped his rosters so I’ll get some use out of it.

What/who is that? A roster for franchise?

Yea, RidinRosters…been around for years..make’s playing franchise mode fun. They will release one after the upcoming draft to include those prospects and another after the trade deadline. It’s a nice change from the DD grind.

Nice do they release sliders as well?

Never really looked into it but maybe, I typically use the default sliders and make slight adjustments to the trade frequency and injury frequency but not too much more than that. With all the players not clearing 100+ attributes the game plays much better IMO and doesn’t seem to need much tweaking on the sliders side of it. If you’re interested just look up RidinRosters on the gamertag search in the rosters vault.

3 pitchers were snubbed for the atrocity that was Rick Porcello's Cy Young in 2016

I remember that year. Britton was a leading story all year, ended the year only giving up 4 runs the entire season. Curious who you thought the 3 snubbed pitchers were. I would say verlander and britton for sure. who's your 3rd? Kluber?

Yeah Kluber. Sale might even have been a better choice than Porcello. It's I'm fairly certain the only time in the history of CY young voting that someone that had more than 1 or 2 less 1st place votes won. Verlander had 14 first place votes to Porcello's 8. Thanks to 2 AL east beat writer losers that left Verlander off the ballot to give Porcello a chance

I can't stand baseball writers. So much of baseball is truly beyond me. Unathletic writers controlling awards and turning the HOF ballots into popularity contest and rumor mills, fans voting for the all stars, the top 2 teams having higher salaries than the bottom 2/3 of the league combined. Crazy game that somtimes feels like it hasn't adapted to the modern age imo.

Baseball is slow. The game is slow. Any changes, no matter how much sense they make are slow. Even something as simple as netting down the lines in the stands took years. Financially these top market teams make these bottom 2/3 payroll teams profitable. So the owners aren’t in a rush to change that. Don’t even mention a salary cap. That’s taboo.

League needs a Salary floor. The whole small market/big market nonsense is just an excuse for owners to be cheap. There is no such thing as small market teams in anything but baseball

Seems to be another case of when a player is overperforming in comparison to previous years then fans want to ignore the previous years and have his card be entirely based on this season.

When a player is underperforming in comparison to their previous seasons then fans want to discount this seasons totals and point to how good they were in past seasons.

But when a player shows up on time for a game he gets a 90+ Topps Now card

At first, I didn’t mind the crazy diving plays this year. But after an out of position player makes one, yeah this needs to be fixed…but probably won’t be

Incredible how easy it is to make diving plays. Whoever implemented this can go kick a large rock

They need to go pound sand. I wonder what they were thinking when they did the work to add this into the game.

True. But did they not test it? I mean it’s pretty obviously broken and I would think a short amount of time testing the feature would show them it’s broken

The problem is, in trying to fix this, they will break fielding all together.

I know I’ve posted about sinkers a few times, but I was wondering if anyone else feels similarly. I guess most people who do stopped playing, but in the last 3 or 4 years the pitch has just made the game extremely unfun. You can sit on the pitch, know it’s coming inside, and it’s still unhittable. Every game now is just a 3-2 sinker fest with unrealistic sinkers flying all over the zone. Used to play a lot and be World Series, now I can barely play a game without being completely burnt out. Clearly they have no intention of fixing it. Oh well. Guess the few times I play will be RTTS

I am not the greatest player but I don't have that much of an issue with them , any issues I do have I blame on the user - I swing at everything lol - You have to learn to hit them - under is a pop up on top is a grounder - you have to square it up and go with it , trying to pull an outside sinker is a very low success rate.

It’s just tough because unless you know for sure it’s coming, it looks like offspeed and then cuts armsife like it’s a slider

So basicly you mean tye same issue real baseball players have with picking up a sinker gamers have the same issue....mhm how bout that

We just going to forget about the last two years of high sinkers being OP?. Could have sworn this forum was littered with posts about it in ‘20 and ‘21.

I’ve done the conquest, finished a mini seasons I had halfway done already, I’ve only done the pitcher PXP missions. The rest is ranked and I banged out the mystery map a few times and some vs CPU games for PXP grinding.

Mini seasons is really great for large chunks of XP.

Beating up on the Orioles for a few vs CPU games is good for about 10k+ xp a game

There's no horizontal movement that's the issue. His cutter isn't even 99 break and I'm not counting that anyways when it's his primary.

Also, I'm not complaining in any way at all. What do I care if the free card is good or bad? It just seemed like everyone was stoked and I don't see it. And the bit I've used him I've hated him. But if people like it cool, I'd be happy to face it online, and I'm happy to sell it for 40k. There's no complaining going on just an observation.

No one is stoked for THIS Halladay card, they are stoked for the one to come..the 99 with 125 p/9’s that im sure will be dropped later in the year or knowing SDS, mid life cycle to completely destroy the game. Just like everyone was excited for milestone and no hitter cards last year, until they had to face them and couldn’t hit them at all and then they hated them.

I would have been kind of furious if they made Halladay better than Sig Pedro from last year.

IRL Pedro was levels above Halladay. Hopefully they at least give a 99 Pedro this year a H/9 he deserves.

Or a better option would be to not have no hitter milestone cards at all, in which case Pedro's H/9 from last year would be passable

Yeah those 99 No hitter milestone cards were released pretty early in the game last year and they also had 102 outlier fastball which made the cards like Verlander and Ryan endgame

Yeah, and the best pitchers in 19 and 20 didn't even have 110 H/9. Game is better off without starters having max H/9.

Games better off if they move away from 100+ stats for pitchers and hitters.

I think if he gets a couple years with a decent pitching coach he will be lights out…he was throwing 101 consistently yesterday. If he can add another pitch other than his slider he is going to be good IMO.

Real life, game’s been bad, forums been even worse…I stop in here and there for a laugh, but other than that the games been underwhelming and I have moved on to other games until SDS gets their sh*t together.

Got a chance to watch him live yesterday, that man is going to be untouchable in a couple years.

Just like the inning programs the grand prize ends a little over half way thru. In this case well before 200k xp for the grand prize. You don’t have to grind past that. So anyone saying it’s a mindless grind, well yes, it is. After 200k it’s just packs. If you value packs then go for it. Me I’ll take my time and get my Doc card. Everything else is gravy.

This isn’t much different than the inning program. It’s the same package with a different bow.

But the difference is that the packs at the end were choice packs. You got to see what you could choose from pending if it was split with a Rare Pack or Standard Pack. It was not just ONLY Show Packs, HL's or BAIH's that will most times ONLY give at best a Gold Card.

Yea but how are you going to spend most of your game time playing the market without all those duplicates from those packs?.

It's his son, he likely got the card ahead of time and has been working on it, likely part of the agreement

I think they just gave him a maxed out card tbh, EA and 2k do this with the actual pro players who play their game.

For sure they gave him the card, which I have no issue with in fact i think it just makes sense they did.

Absolutely, not opposed to it at all, i just think he was already P5 when he got him. Which again is fine, personally I think they should have given him a special 99 card but still a rare W for SDS this year.
