I'm not retired. But I am up there in age & easily older then probably 80% of MLBTS players. I'm hitting 51yo this year. Been playing video games going back to the Quarter Arcades & the Atari 2600. Played on every system since then (with exception of PS5 & Xbox Series X ... still waiting for the price to drop down much more). I am 1 of those that never outgrew playing video games. I am a true gamer.
So do NOT feel weird or alone. There are more like us out there. However within the minority. LOL

Stop crying, no one cares. This game gives you all the free content in the world and is arguably the best sports game out by far…quit being a baby
It's the ONLY Basebal game out there like this and that is what the problem is. SDS puts out whatever & we just eat it because it's the ONLY 1 out there. So it's either play this (regardless how many things we dislike or hate about it) or play nothing at all. I love Baseball in general too much to NOT being able to play a Baseball Video Game. So therefor I still play it & will continue to play it. However will abandon & leave MLBTS is someone like 2K or EA relaunches out a Baseball game again.
I am tied with 4 being my favorite & as well best 1's made. 2 about Real Life Players & 2 about Fictitious Players.
About a real life players.
About a fictitious player(s).
FINALLY I can NOW say """LET'S ALL DRINK"" Because I just finally joined the club 6 days ago of those who do have J. Diaz.
So here it goes ....
""LETS ALL DRINK!!!!"""

I dont understand what the issue is with the Bold? Does it REALLY bother you THAT much to give the Topic creator a hard time and not even answer the question?
Thank you MadDog. Or should I say "THANK YOU" .... Lol
Each time you level up a Pitcher, it will increase his individual attributes which will alter how he pitches with speed, breaking movement & trejectory. Therefor you need to adapt to those changes too. You can not do the same thing over & over same way with him & expect same results when the card is no longer the same.
The rewards are garbage to grind 600K in XP for them. Mostly only Show Single Packs, a couple Bundles of 5 & 1 Bundle of 10 & few Headliner paks. The Rewind Packs has no one new, I have all of them & none of them have any market value to see. Only 2 things slightly good is the Boss Packs & Big Dogg packs. But even that is not as appealing enough. There are not any FOTF packs or anything else reward wise to be excited & eager to grind for.
SDS is doing it all backwards & upside down this year. They made the grinds much longer to complete with XP, PXP & Missions while giving rewards that cr*ppy. Up until last year the grinds were not as taxing time wise & the rewards were much better quality wise then they are giving now.
I dint know abour most of you guys out there & what you think & how you feel. But I myself am very close to quiting DD & MBTS 22 all together if next months program is not good in quality to reward the grind. Im more then happy to get into WWE22 which I abandoned completely after its 1st month out only because MLBTS22 came out & all my attention & time has only been able to be put into this game. But why continue if the grind dont feel its worth my time put in for the rewards being giving.
This years Franchise Mode does look very very good with it's new menu & widows provide more data, info & being easier to see, read & find.
However to me that is NOT enough. Franchise still needs a few improvements which shouldn't be so hard for SDS to do.
#1 Trading) Broken down into "Part A" & "Part B" *** Part A..... Is letting trades be more then 3 players per team. Many real MLB trades are 4 players for just 1 player.. We should be able to make a 4 for 1 trade or a 5 for 2 trade. As well letting us use cash for a trade. If we have 10M usable within our budget. We should be able to use cash towards a team that is in the read or just barely under it's cap. As well what's the point in having these Sponsorship's earning us money if we can NOT use that money within trades. Finally is using Draft Picks. If I have a good pool of talent within my minor league teams. Then I should be able to use my #1, #2 or #3 Draft pick as a trading chip. *** Part B ..... How the AI chooses to accept a trade or not It should NOT be based solely on overall rating, potential & age. It should be also going by REAL TEAM NEEDS. If I'm trying to trade with the a team that has 4 Outfielders at 85+ & their best Catcher is 65. I'm offering a Catcher that is 78 in exchange for a 85 OF which has the same potential & contract as the Catcher I am offering. Then that team should easily accept that trade because they are improving at their weakest position & are not being hurt within their OF positions. The need for a certain position should trump Rating, Potential & Age if the trade improves & strengthens that position for them.
#2 GM Objectives Other Baseball Game titles used similar types of Objectives" needed to be accomplished to improve & strengthen your job security & GM score. Such as: *Trade away X-name Player within X-amount of time. *Acquire X-position player with an X-rating of X within X-amount of time. *Acquire a home town player in X-amount of time. *Reduce budget by X-amount of money in X-amount of time. *Etc. Etc. Needing to do such Objective brings more realism to what a GM does. The teams goals are still needs, but needing to do these Objectives bring a bit more challenge to the GM aspect.
#3 Player Contracts Should include "No Trade Clauses", "Signing Bonus" & "Incentive Bonus Payout" for being selected into All-Star team, winning MVP or Cy Young, total season IP's or total season at AB's. Every Free Agent can have a certain demand they are seeking with any of the above mentioned. Same as when trying to resign a player. Also it should be able to offer a Minor League Role to an aging player whom you plan to have in your 40 man roster & primarily on your AAA team & NOT on your 25/26 man roster. Matt Kemp is a free agent & lets say he is a great fit for my AAA team. I should be able to offer him a Minor League Role rather then just Star, Everyday, Platoon or Depth so his morale is NOT affected when he is in the Minors because that is the contract he agreed to.
#4 Minor Leagues Influence/Effect AAA & AA teams season performance should mean something good or bad. My overall budget includes their salaries. Therefor if either of my AAA teams makes the Playoffs or even wins the Championship, then my overall budget should increase some due to the sell out games they attracted & earned, especially within Post-Season Play. If either were a last place finishing team or next to last. Then that should decrease some of my overall budget. This now puts the emphasis on developing & building winning Minor League affiliates rather then just stock piling on top prospects & players with A-rated potential.
#5 Coaching Staff There should be Managers for MLB, AAA & AA. Not just a Farm Director for the entire Minor League. Each Manager/Coach should have a certain focus that influences the players apart from just only attribute increases/decreases. As well if we are given the option of using Legend Free Agents. Then we should also have an option of using Legend Manager/Coaches For Hire. Would be awesome being able to use Joe Torre, Tommy Lasorda, Davey Johnson, Lou Pinela, Sparky Anderson, Etc. As well with real past Coaches like Lee Mazilli, Don Zimmer, Rich Peterson, Cookie Rojas, Etc.
#6 Legend Free Agents We should be able to check off & select which legends we want included into the Free Agent Pool. Maybe I want a handful of certain Legends included & do not want the pool over flooded with Legends & especially NOT "repeated" Legends like Chipper Jones & Eddie Murray. Makes no sense for 2 teams to have a different version of the SAME player. Same goes with opting to do a Franchise starting Draft. We should be able to choose which Legends are to be included within the Draft.
#7 Players Having A Mind Of Their Own. Players can veto being traded to a certain team if they have a "No Trade Clause" & Players with enough seasons played can veto being sent down to the minors. Players can even request/demand to be traded. (more of this to follow with #8) This will bring more realism to the GM aspect in Franchise & make it more challenging.
#8 Player Moral Effect More Then Just Overall Rating If any player is disgruntled over money, role, play time or line up/rotation spot. Then this can lead them to requesting/demanding to be traded. If it is not addressed or fixed in X-mount of games. Then their negative moral becomes disruptive & begins to make other player's moral within the team becoming negative as well, which then presses the issue even more to address/fix that problem or to give in & trade away that player & maybe even at a loss for someone not as good because your immediate need is to just rid yourself of that player. Releasing him is NOT an option & that option itself can be locked if a players moral is negative.
#9 Attendance, Pricing & Promo Dates. How well your team plays & where they are within the standings SHOULD affect Attendance which in turn will affect next year's overall budget. If your team is doing well & Attendance is high. Then we should have a feature & option to increase Ticket Prices & Concession Prices to bolster even more our potential budget for the following season. If our team is doing badly, then we could lower Ticket Prices & Concession Prices & as well launch Promo Dates giving away Promo Items to try keeping up Attendance enough so it does not drastically decrease next seasons potential budget.
#10 Team Gear Apart from Budget Funds being used for Players, Coaches & Scouts (& even trades if SDS implements & includes that feature), but it should be also used to Buy Gear for the entire team. Gear can be graded from Bronze to Silver to Gold & finally to Diamond. Gear will cost accordingly to level it is & is also very expensive. Gear can be Bats that improves teams overall Contact & power as a whole. Pretty much the same effect each type of Gear gives your "Created Player". But now instead this Gear is Team Gear & improves every player within the team based on that attribute increases for that specific Gear. This will now create a challenge with choosing to max out your Budget Cap in Player Contract Salaries or focus more lower Contracted Salaried players to have more Budget space for Team Gear or to try having a balance of both.
IN CLOSING ..... I have always LOVED Franchise play. For me it's the best of both worlds with being able to play the game with my favorite team (NY Mets) & as well take on the role as a GM at the same time. However MLBTS has NOT captured the true essence & perfect balance of both worlds. OOTP exclusively for PC is AWESOME with the GM & Managing aspect, But does NOT offer Game Play like MLBTS. OOTP is purely Sim ONLY. Then years back there was 2K & EA which gave a very good real feel to being a GM within their Franchise mode. However neither of those 2 can compare to the graphics & physical game play mechanics MLBTS has today.
If SDS can make MLBTS be more like it's predecessors & more like their PC counter part. Then Franchise on MLBTS would be ABSOLUTELY AWESOME & the G.O.A.T. up to date.
It just may be me, but want to see if anyone else feels that same way.
In any mode, RS, BR or Events, when the game just loads in & you see the home stadium being featured with the letter board graphics of the 2 teams facing each other. Many times it does not show the W-L record of both teams.
This always annoys me & upsets me when it does not show it. I like seeing how good of a player I am facing before the game starts because that in a way lets me go about that game in a certain way. Being able to see if someone is 300-100 as to 100-300 tells me a lot with what to expect from this opponent & how to try to implement a game plan. Same with seeing if it's a newbie & if he is 40-10 or 10-40.
Maybe most in here, this really don't matter to them. But wondering if it does to any in here & they would like to see "ALL" game Intro's (in any DD mode) showing W-L records.
It's like ANY fly ball hit in the OF will be run down & caught regardless which Outfielder is used & what's their speed. It has to be a low hard hit line drive into the gaps or down the lines for an Outfielder not to get to it for an out. Or if a fly ball, it has to be a soaring bullet heading to hit off the wall before the Outfielder can get to it. Previous years OF defense was more realistic with speed attributes & with what is reachable or not for an out. I made so many catches in the OF this year that I never would have made in previous years of MLBTS. But the coin goes both ways. So frustrating when hitting stuff to the OF that will easily be a hit in ANY real game & instead is track down & caught.
Just something else SDS screwed up this year with them thinking it would be better & is actually NOT. SDS always wants to fix what is NOT broken instead of fixing what was actually broken & needing to be fixed.
I wanted to do a season of MTO tonight so I can get my 70k to 80k XP I get from each season of MTO. But 5 times it crashed on trying to load opening day game. I gave up on the 5th crash. Will try again tommorow. Hopefully SDS will fix whatever the F****d up with this update download they sent out today.
IMO the program itself is not the issue. What is the issue to me is the path line of rewards. They just do not "WOW" me. The dont excite me or motivate me to go thru the grind of getting 500K to 750K in XP to complete it for the final grand reward. This Program right now only needs 500K to complete it, but it also ends in 13 days. So we have to rush a grind to get 500K in XP & I doubt they will kick in Double XP earnings next week. I am just very disappointed so far with 22
The market this year is absolutely no good to flip cards to buy & sell. The margin spread is too close with liitle profit to be earn card per card. The ONLY way to make money in the market flipping is by buying Golds in bulk that you feel are going Diamond on the next update. This is what has been working best for me & many others this year.
Prior to the last update I bought 20 cards of 84 Gold "Tommy Edman" at 2,250 Stubs each for a total of 22,500 stubs. In the update he went up to a 86 Diamond. His Quick Sell as a 86 Diamond was 3,750. I Quick Sold all 20 for a total 75,000 Stubs. Minus the 45,00 Stubs I invested, it left me with a profit of 30,000 Stubs. I also made profits from the 20 cards I bought in bulk of Tim Anderson, Kenley Jansen & Taylor Rogers. With those 4 players & made 210,000 profit in Stubs all together. I have invested in 6 Golds that I feel may go Diamond on next update & that each were going for less then 2,500 in the market. So even if they only go to 85 Diamond. My investment was still under the 85 Diamond 3,000 Quick Sell & I still turn a profit.
This is the only way to really make any REAL money in the Market. Just imagine if I was able to afford to buy 100 Edmans at 2,250 Stubs each .... I would have made a total of 150,000 in profit alone just from Edman.
I agree with the OP ..... The Events are expiring way too fast. This is why I have not even attempted to play any this year. Whats the point if I dont have enough time to put into Events & as well the other modes at same time. My focus is always more with Featured Program & Side Programs. Then if I can have time to spare, I would do some Events or Ranked. However with Ranked you have lots more time before the season expires. With Events it goes by too fast for someone like me with limited time & it being hard to get high up enough within the Event Path to win some of the rewards & evenless complete the entire Path.

@tonythetiger2k16 said in How do I find who's a Big Dog Player?: I I suggest buying Klubber, Street & Ottavino. So you have 1 SP & 2 RP/CP to use. Pitchers collect PxP lots faster them Hitters. Not really a sound strategy considering the fact that using 1 pitcher in a 9 inning game will get you more xp than using all 3 pitchers but you will get more xp for 1 pitcher in a 9 inning game and 2 batters batting 4-5 times each.

You are ONLY thinking in terms of 9 Inning games & are not putting into thought 3 inning games when Stamina goes down super fast & you also need to pinch hit for your SP & replace him. Not to mention if that 3 ining game goes to 4 or 5 innings. So 3 Pitchers is best.
I did all my Big Dog PxP Missions with Pitchers ONLY
Its any of the players within Big Dog Set 1, 2 & 3 ..... Click Triangle on the Pack along the Program Pack to preview the pack contents. See which of those you already have & can use. If you have none, then I suggest buying Klubber, Street & Ottavino. So you have 1 SP & 2 RP/CP to use. Pitchers collect PxP lots faster them Hitters.
I'm very much older than most in here & that will make me very Old School & it was within my teen years when consoles began coming out & I had gotten all of them thru the years. Atari 2600, 5200 & 7800, Coleco Vision, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis & Sega Dreamcast. Nintendo NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, etc, etc. However a Baseball Video game that was not sim because Sim style games was not even made yet for consoles. I have to say it was "Temco All-Star Baseball" All the teams & players were ficticious. However you were able to edit thier names. There was no profanity guard made yet in games. So me being a typical teen male, I named each player after a cuss word. It made it funny. The game play & graphics was the best ever seen for any console video game made so far & stayed the best until EA began doing MVP Baseball.
no you can not change these settings once you started. you will need to start a new franchise from scratch.
At times for sake of a Program's Mission to gain "X" amount for a specific player, I find myself building a Line-up around that 1 player & haveing to play out everyone's AB & pitch every inning just so I can get 3 to 5 AB's with that 1 hitter & hopefully be productive to earn more then the 10 points per PA. Even if it's a pitcher I'm trying to earn PxP with for a Program Mission, I still need to bat my entire team during every inning.
I think it would be a very good useful feature if we had the option to do "Player Lock" within "Vs. CPU" when my priority is focused on only 1 card for a Mission. If it's a Pitcher, then I can just Pitch him 5 to 9 inning non stop, pending if it's a SP or a RP/CP I choose as a starter & can only go 5 to 6 innings max based on Stamina. It still would be better then playing out an entire 9 Inning game with Pitching & Hitting and as well better then doing 3 to 4 Conquest or Mini Season games where I will only get 1 to 3 Innings pitched based on Stamina & sttill have to play out every AB as well. With hitters if we could player lock, we can get 3 to 5 AB's without having to play out a full 9 inning game of be limited to just 1 or 2 AB's within Conquest & Mini season games where we still have to play out everyone's else's AB & inning pitched.
This will make each of these Player PxP Program Missions quicker to go thru. Especially when you can only work with 1 of those cards at a time. It's our choice if we want to forfeit all the PxP we could have earned for everyone else within the Line-up or Bull-pen & as well lose out on XP because we only getting XP from playing 1 player rather then an entire team. I still have not completed the "Cover Athletes" Program due to the PxP Player Missions needed. I do not own all of those cards & can only buy them 1 at a time as a rental to be used for a PxP mission and trying to get it done as soon as I can to sell it back while I can break even or take a slight loss, to then repeat that process over & over until I am able to complete the Program just so I can earn a free CA Card of my choice which I will keep for sake of collections.
What do you think about "Player Lock" option within "Vs. CPU" ?????
@twisted-_-tea-_psn said in Who Have You Not Seen In Last 5 years Or More Or Never Seen That You Would Like To See?:
I'm 19 so i dont care as much for legends. I love watching the current guys way more. I wish they would do more like the FOTF cards and the all star cards last year for more current guys. Finest takes forever to get to and alot of current guys lack decent cards all year unless their live series is 90+
Then The POTM series & Topps Now series is best for you. Those 2 series uses current active players & juices up their attributes for that card more then it is deserved.
