Friendly quit?
-
So I’m in an event game and leading 1-0 and my opponent asks for a friendly quit which I gave him. I figured because it was a friendly quit on his part that I would automatically win. But that didn’t happen. The game records were not saved. What should I have done?
-
Refused. It’s a canceled game. Oldest trick in the book

Rejected it and hit the next batter in the head.

@JEEZY-E_PSN and @yankblan_PSN both have good answers.
Normally if it's a long game with no hits and my opponent asks for one; then I'll give it to them.
What inning was it? Not that it matters; but if it was in the first three innings I may have taken it. Only thing you have to worry about is that I think even if the game doesn't register, cause of the FQ, you may still lose some energy for your pitchers.
Another thing you can do, if you want to be a [censored], is when they offer it don't hit anything and just let that screen there.
Even though they offered it; their timer still counts down and sometimes you can catch them 'napping' and force their timer to run out or deplete it alot.
And once they offer, whether you decline or they take back the offer; they can't offer it again.
However, you do have to watch out when refusing them. As some people have this 'phobia' that if you refuse a Friendly Quit; the game will screw you and the RNG will kick in for your opponent.
Not saying that it WILL happen; but some have said they experienced that.

It was early in the game. After I saw what happened with the game I knew I should’ve just said no. But I figured I would be a nice guy and say OK. Oh well.
-
So I play it again and it happened again. This time I didn’t take it and I ended up getting the win. Weird.

in events id never take a friendly, since the game matters little as far as records and i consider the format as more of a relaxed play. on ranked I say I get a friendly request 85% of the time due to my record or pitcher on the bump which pending their record/home away status/ their pitcher ill think about. frankly BR or events id generally say most ppl dont even bother to offer friendlys and quit
-
I have accepted many friendly quits when it was zerp score from both ends & have not gone past the 3 inning. However I feel there is no Karma because when I myself ask for a friendly, everyone always refuses.

Curious to know? After you accepted friendly quit did your pitcher still lose his stamina?

I don’t think friendly quits exist in BR. Believe me - I faced a guy with a 20x flawless banner last year and the option was nowhere to be found lol
Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

You mean in that game or future games? I didn't really notice, though in my next two games I got beaten, the second one badly. So I guess so.

This was events, not BR/ I haven't tried BR yet.

I think that I must be an exception to the rule. As a person who only played the CPU most of my life, I have picked up a lot of bad habits as their pitching can be pretty predictable. So, while I am basically the digital equal of Mario Mendoza, I have become a solid pitcher, and play decent defense. I was offered a friendly quit in a scoreless game in the third with neither of us doing much and I accepted and was disappointed because I didn't know I would lose the stats and my SP was hurling a gem. I believe that I did still have a small loss in energy afterwards.
Opponents look at the low BA and lick their chops in anticipation of the easy win and then when it's in the 7th inning and somehow, I am still hanging in there either trailing by 1 or 2 or tied they offer me the friendly quit a lot. I couldn't believe it early in the week when I was trailing 1-0, but had started timing his pitching, while he was still struggling to hit mine, he offered me the quit. I declined. I wanted the stats, and I would rather man up and take the loss or see if I could finally get on the scoreboard, so he just quit despite having the lead.

Never friendly quit in an event or BR game. They are 3 innings win is way more important than a RS.

Happened to me. After refusing a friendly quit in the first my defense took a dump. 5 errors, lost 5-0

Ranked: if they offer before 1st pitch, yes. I’ve been known to offer them pregame when I know I’ll be hopelessly outmatched (or loaded the wrong lineup and didn’t realize it before it was too late). Taking the FQ is simply paying it forward.
Ranked if it’s later in the game: too bad. You got yourself into this mess. Get yourself out.
Events are a whole other animal. I need all the wind I can get.

Yep, all of this. I never take a friendly quit or ask for one unless the game hasn't started yet. It's definitely a nice guys finish last situation.
