I got hit with 2 in the same inning yesterday.
Left fielder, then the Right fielder.

Ridiculous.Like David Justice hits a very hard grounder towards the hole on the right side. And here comes Vlad out of nowhere with the penguin dive to rob a hit
If that doesn’t prove that diving is broken, idk what does. Just add that to the long list of great things this game has going for it.

Haha that’s a good one but I had someone make a diving play at 2B with Cedric Mullins and make the throw lefty

Hoping they get rid of this BS. So frustrating and so unrealistic.

I'm not a complainer but it's objectively true that the diving stops and catches are absurd. Over the last 2 years they've made such big deals over fielding upgrades where fielding ratings really matter, only top fielders get certain throws and certain branching animations, etc etc. And we still have bronze and below fielders diving all over the place vacuuming up balls and robbing home runs.

Just a terrible look for them all around with this years game
I genuinely cannot find or say anything positive about 22 other than QOL improvements of event lineups saving and conquest sim time being faster
That is legitimately the only 2 positive things/improvements I’ve come across

You should see LS Judge at 2b. Linedrives cant get over him and his height just gives him that much more range on the dive. Plus his cannon for an arm makes the Big Hurt cry when he catches it. Luckily for us the game is playing as intended.

I think we all know they don't test anything. They just look at numbers and adjust based off the numbers

Agree but it’s not like diving plays generate a stat that can be tracked.
They obviously changed the animation for the worse, had to have tested it to some degree and still decided to throw it into this garbage game. Hilarious they thought it was good to go as is

I really believe you are more likely to be successful with an average fielder on a diving play, than a normal fielding animation.

May as well start your pci in the bottom of the zone and try to never hit a ground ball.

May as well start your pci in the bottom of the zone and try to never hit a ground ball.
It doesn’t matter, if you hit a hard line they knock it down (if catch is not made) and it doesn’t make it to the OF and if it’s a flyball it dies at the warning track.

The problem is, in trying to fix this, they will break fielding all together.
