The variant is ravaging Vegas I'd stay and wait out this w if I were you that's wayyy safer than risking your life for stupid family and friends time
Odds of dying from delta-variant of COVID-19 when vaccinated: 1:27,000
Odds of being struck by lightening: 1:15,300
Someone is nearly twice as likely to be struck by lightening than they are to die from the Delta Variant!
I'd say going to Vegas to see friends and family is not "risking your life"!!!
Somehow I get the impression that your background in math is suspect, and the odds you stated are not calculated by any accepted method.
The 1:27,000 came from the CDC (which I would say they do unacceptable calculations due to calling deaths from car accidents and shootings to be included at Covid deaths which would make that number much larger!)
The 1:15,300 came from the National Weather Service and their stat for being struck by lightening over an "80-year lifetime"
You should probably look up information yourself and not rely on the boobtube to tell you what to believe!
But, hey, if you want to be paralyzed by the fear-mongering of your masters, you be you!
Also, I was a nuclear engineer, so I'm pretty confident in my math skills!
Can't argue with bubbleheads and lemmings about covid, vaccinations, masks, or politics. They've learned all they need from the media and it's the truth, 'cause the media says so..
But, bottom line, most are just high-level narcissists that are so phobic and terrified (thanks to their fearmongering media) of any potential harm coming to themselves they would cover themselves in feces daily if the media said strong repugnant odors keep away microscopic bugs. And, obviously, never question it because their terror is so deep they can't recognize logic or the absence of anymore. That's how mind control works.
Surely not the ones I would want on my side if things got real. Just too many [censored]-cats in this world. Well, about half of this country. Thank God for the other half.
It's funny. I work at a national laboratory and where I live is a small community where mainly everyone is a research scientist or engineer. At work, you can guess who "doesn't believe in COVID". It's the utility workers, the drivers, security staff. Go figure.
It's obviously inhumane, but I feel like those who espouse view such as yours... Well go right ahead. You guys should get a card or a tattoo to identify yourselves. If you ever show up at a hospital with COVD-related medical issues, you should be promptly denied any care. It would also be nice if we could make a nice little commune for the unvaccinated. I like to think of it as a case-study in vaccine efficacy.
I suppose you see nothing ethically wrong with that, because it's overblown, vaccines don't work, you're healthy and don't need to worry, etc.
Look, I know what your misguided rhetoric is trying to suggest..only "da dummies" and lower-level lifeforms argue with the media and deny. Well, nothing could be farther from the truth.
You do realize that, as recently as early July, the majority (over 50%) of those employed by CDC were not vaccinated.
It's the people that are very well researched and educated by sources other than the lying media that make the decisions to forego a vaccine that, apparently, isn't very effective (just follow the list of athletes that have been vaccinated and then get the bug).
And, the only reason you see these instances is because it's way too public to hide..even though they are trying. 9% of the "vaccinated" athletes have contracted the bug. I have yet to see an instance of a non-vaccinated athlete getting the bug. And there are many of them, but their agents encourage them to keep their personal preferences on the down-low because of the cancel culture in the media.
Look, if you believe in the vaccine and masks and all that...good for you. at least half the country does not. 10 years from now we could probably all revisit this issue with a lot more clarity, understanding, and absence of heated emotion.
"Employed" by the CDC means mothing. As I mentioned about my workplace, the CDC likely has more support staff - HR, payroll, security, administrative assistants, editors, etc. on payroll than they do scientists. If your product is data and reports, how many scientists do you think it takes to produce that as compared to the amount of staff needed to make an entire organization function?
I am willing to be if you looked at those who work directly in R&D, especially engineers and scientists, the number would exceed 80%.
And they also have doctors, nurses, scientists, and other assorted eggheads that are part of that 50%. I took my 93-year-old Grandpa to the doctor a few weeks back for a checkup. He doesn't believe in the vaccination.
So, when his doctor (had his practice for 35 years) asked him if he wanted the vax Grandpa said no and in his cantankerous way added "it's all bullshot". The MD laughed and said "I don't blame you, I'm not getting it either".
Sister-in-law just retired 1 month ago as an ER RN. She doesn't believe in the vaccine and says "the majority" of physicians she knows personally that confide said they aren't getting the vaccine either. For a variety of reasons. But, these guys ain't broom-pushing janitors or mop-jockeys as you like to demean. When I see cats like this that should be in the know refuse the vax. Makes me believe I'm prob making the right decision myself.
Could send you a pic of a friend of mine that developed Bell's palsy one week to the day after getting the 2nd Moderna. It's him with acupuncture needles in his face (his 8th session) trying anything to fix the paralysis he's had for the last 6 months. He hasn't been able to close his eyelids for 6 months..That, to me, is a bummer. His wife at the very same time one week after 2nd dose started developing symptoms of MS and was diagnosed with having MS.
I always gotta go with my instincts and those experiences that I personally know of. I've never known anyone that has been hospitalized with Covid. I've known a dozen or so that have tested positive with asymptomatic Covid.
Even one close buddy that couldn't taste doritoes for about a week. And couldn't smell his grill when he was cooking up brisket. Which was a semi-bummer for him, but he pulled through it with no scars.
I, personally, have been all over the country since the "scamdemic" broke. Been on the packed beaches of Southern Fla. Been on the packed shores and boats in the Ozarks during 4th of July weekend 2020. I've been in several jumping bars. 3 SRO baseball games this year. Probably many more instances of "putting my life on the line", but I fear Covid about like I would the flu.
The flu kills. I had SARS a few years back, kicked my [censored] pretty bad. But I sure as heck ain't going to let my fear of anything make me mask up and cower in fear, locked down, away from my family and friends, because the lying media says I should.
That's all I have to say. I'll re-hash this 'ol stale line. You do you..I'll do me.
