The variant is ravaging Vegas I'd stay and wait out this w if I were you that's wayyy safer than risking your life for stupid family and friends time

Odds of dying from delta-variant of COVID-19 when vaccinated: 1:27,000

Odds of being struck by lightening: 1:15,300

Someone is nearly twice as likely to be struck by lightening than they are to die from the Delta Variant!

I'd say going to Vegas to see friends and family is not "risking your life"!!! 🤷

Somehow I get the impression that your background in math is suspect, and the odds you stated are not calculated by any accepted method.

The 1:27,000 came from the CDC (which I would say they do unacceptable calculations due to calling deaths from car accidents and shootings to be included at Covid deaths which would make that number much larger!)

The 1:15,300 came from the National Weather Service and their stat for being struck by lightening over an "80-year lifetime"

You should probably look up information yourself and not rely on the boobtube to tell you what to believe!

But, hey, if you want to be paralyzed by the fear-mongering of your masters, you be you!

Also, I was a nuclear engineer, so I'm pretty confident in my math skills!

Can't argue with bubbleheads and lemmings about covid, vaccinations, masks, or politics. They've learned all they need from the media and it's the truth, 'cause the media says so..

But, bottom line, most are just high-level narcissists that are so phobic and terrified (thanks to their fearmongering media) of any potential harm coming to themselves they would cover themselves in feces daily if the media said strong repugnant odors keep away microscopic bugs. And, obviously, never question it because their terror is so deep they can't recognize logic or the absence of anymore. That's how mind control works.

Surely not the ones I would want on my side if things got real. Just too many [censored]-cats in this world. Well, about half of this country. Thank God for the other half.

It's funny. I work at a national laboratory and where I live is a small community where mainly everyone is a research scientist or engineer. At work, you can guess who "doesn't believe in COVID". It's the utility workers, the drivers, security staff. Go figure.

It's obviously inhumane, but I feel like those who espouse view such as yours... Well go right ahead. You guys should get a card or a tattoo to identify yourselves. If you ever show up at a hospital with COVD-related medical issues, you should be promptly denied any care. It would also be nice if we could make a nice little commune for the unvaccinated. I like to think of it as a case-study in vaccine efficacy.

I suppose you see nothing ethically wrong with that, because it's overblown, vaccines don't work, you're healthy and don't need to worry, etc.

Look, I know what your misguided rhetoric is trying to suggest..only "da dummies" and lower-level lifeforms argue with the media and deny. Well, nothing could be farther from the truth.

You do realize that, as recently as early July, the majority (over 50%) of those employed by CDC were not vaccinated.

It's the people that are very well researched and educated by sources other than the lying media that make the decisions to forego a vaccine that, apparently, isn't very effective (just follow the list of athletes that have been vaccinated and then get the bug).

And, the only reason you see these instances is because it's way too public to hide..even though they are trying. 9% of the "vaccinated" athletes have contracted the bug. I have yet to see an instance of a non-vaccinated athlete getting the bug. And there are many of them, but their agents encourage them to keep their personal preferences on the down-low because of the cancel culture in the media.

Look, if you believe in the vaccine and masks and all that...good for you. at least half the country does not. 10 years from now we could probably all revisit this issue with a lot more clarity, understanding, and absence of heated emotion.

"Employed" by the CDC means mothing. As I mentioned about my workplace, the CDC likely has more support staff - HR, payroll, security, administrative assistants, editors, etc. on payroll than they do scientists. If your product is data and reports, how many scientists do you think it takes to produce that as compared to the amount of staff needed to make an entire organization function?

I am willing to be if you looked at those who work directly in R&D, especially engineers and scientists, the number would exceed 80%.

And they also have doctors, nurses, scientists, and other assorted eggheads that are part of that 50%. I took my 93-year-old Grandpa to the doctor a few weeks back for a checkup. He doesn't believe in the vaccination.

So, when his doctor (had his practice for 35 years) asked him if he wanted the vax Grandpa said no and in his cantankerous way added "it's all bullshot". The MD laughed and said "I don't blame you, I'm not getting it either".

Sister-in-law just retired 1 month ago as an ER RN. She doesn't believe in the vaccine and says "the majority" of physicians she knows personally that confide said they aren't getting the vaccine either. For a variety of reasons. But, these guys ain't broom-pushing janitors or mop-jockeys as you like to demean. When I see cats like this that should be in the know refuse the vax. Makes me believe I'm prob making the right decision myself.

Could send you a pic of a friend of mine that developed Bell's palsy one week to the day after getting the 2nd Moderna. It's him with acupuncture needles in his face (his 8th session) trying anything to fix the paralysis he's had for the last 6 months. He hasn't been able to close his eyelids for 6 months..That, to me, is a bummer. His wife at the very same time one week after 2nd dose started developing symptoms of MS and was diagnosed with having MS.

I always gotta go with my instincts and those experiences that I personally know of. I've never known anyone that has been hospitalized with Covid. I've known a dozen or so that have tested positive with asymptomatic Covid.

Even one close buddy that couldn't taste doritoes for about a week. And couldn't smell his grill when he was cooking up brisket. Which was a semi-bummer for him, but he pulled through it with no scars.

I, personally, have been all over the country since the "scamdemic" broke. Been on the packed beaches of Southern Fla. Been on the packed shores and boats in the Ozarks during 4th of July weekend 2020. I've been in several jumping bars. 3 SRO baseball games this year. Probably many more instances of "putting my life on the line", but I fear Covid about like I would the flu.

The flu kills. I had SARS a few years back, kicked my [censored] pretty bad. But I sure as heck ain't going to let my fear of anything make me mask up and cower in fear, locked down, away from my family and friends, because the lying media says I should.

That's all I have to say. I'll re-hash this 'ol stale line. You do you..I'll do me.

Unfortunately most that don’t take this seriously until they get it or one of their loved ones get it and has severe long term effects or dies. My father in law acted like nothing was different and would yell at my wife and I to wear a mask when with us. That tune changed unfortunately when he and his wife got Covid. He got a mild case with some breathing issues but it went away after a few weeks. His wife, got double pneumonia, had to go on a ventilator, and died two weeks later. Now he doesn’t screw around with it but it took my wife’s stepmother dying from it to change his view.

Folks laugh about syphilis until they get it. Lot of funny stuff out there that can kill you. Even clowns.

Agreed, any diagnosis of a terminal condition is pretty sobering. But, people are born and then they die. A billion and a half different things that will get them.

Live your life to its fullest in between those 2 points of time.

Actually a narcissist is someone that ONLY cares about themselves, and generally lacks the ability to have any kind of emotional feelings or thoughts about how their actions might impact others.

A good example of a Narcissist would be someone saying "My immune system is healthy, I won't get vaccinated". While they themselves might not die, staying unvaccinated risks the health of all of the other folks they come in contact with. So.....maybe don't use a word that describes you so well?

What did I tell you about the incorrect use of psychology terms? I feel like we just had this conversation a few days ago, you had a major melt down as a result (Even starting entire threads about it). I don't think you can handle that again so soon, let your mind recover first.

Ok Doc. You've got the copyright on the word Narcissist too. Fact is, Freud said we're all narcissists at heart. I'll quote the great one - narcissism "is the libidinal complement to the egoism of the instinct of self-preservation," Doc, we start developing that before we fall out of the crib. The most human instinct.

There are just some that forgo life in order to self-preserve. Putting themselves ahead of their family and friends. Rationalize I'm masking up and hiding out to protect everyone else but myself. We know the truth. We're developing a country of Howard Hugh's without all the $billions.

It's not a sign of weakness necessarily..just a sign of a much higher-level of narcissism.

And when they get syphilis, they go to a doctor and get an antibiotic, then they are all better. The magic of science and medicine.

I once knew a guy that was diagnosed with a very treatable form of oral cancer. He is a dad with a young wife at home. He decided God would heal him and didn't go to the doctor. He's dead now. That guy is much like you, you have the tools to live a long happy life, but you decide to endanger yourself and others because of a TV personality that's vaccinated, a former President whos vaccinated, and a couple social media memes created by people in other countries.

And who cares who you hurt or kill in the process so you can live your life to the fullest. People should take basic precautions for the safety of everyone. We should be working together to get through this. Then again, I’m learning most only care about themselves and don’t worry about the damage they do to others. They didn’t die from it so it doesn’t concern them. I had a low opinion of humanity before Covid and Covid now it pretty much confirms it. We live in the most selfish society where people don’t care about anything past their nose.

Unfortunately most that don’t take this seriously until they get it or one of their loved ones get it and has severe long term effects or dies. And the key word here is society. My wife and step-son are immigrants, everyone who can get vaccinated in their country gets it. There are lines for hours and hours, most in line are turned away. Those folks line up again the next day, on repeat, until they get lucky.

We line up for days and days for iPhones and PS5's.

I'm sure you can grasp this, but the anecdotal evidence of a doctor and a nurse who don't want to get vaccinated is fairly meaningless. Besides the fact we already know not all doctors and all nurses would get the vaccine, we know resoundingly the consensus opinion is they support and encourage people to go get vaccinated. This isn't up for debate - it's an objective fact.

Notwithstanding, it's anecdotal evidence, and from your "catfishing" thread, I think it's safe to say your credibility is suspect and you were received as a kook, irrespective of your views on COVID and vaccines.

I find it bizzare that if we rewind a calendar year, the amount of opposition to COVID restrictions in the USA. By September and October the gameplan was just to grin and bear the death counts, and that you'd just vaccinate your way out of the pandemic once it became available. Then once the vaccine is available, people don't want to take it and don't want restrictions, despite staring down a repeat of last fall with red flags of rising case counts and hospitalizations.

Anecdotal is relative. True coincidence is rare. Do you think I might be part of the majority with these same anecdotal? Could be.

Just, folks, don't believe everything the media tries to convince you of. Go with your own experiences. 2nd hand news is no news.

excellent idea. I'm vaccinated, my wife is vaccinated, my step son is vaccinated. My step-son spent the summer in one of the most infected countries in the world, he just tested negative for covid despite being exposed to it for the last 3 months. My experience says "Thank God he is smart".

While I agree, no one cares about accomplishments in this game in the long run....you sound like a massive simp that lives their life to please women. Women arent the solution to every problem in the world, they cause most of them lol

I get laid by a woman everyday I’m ok with being called a simp-whatever it is
