I am an older dad who loves playing the show. I’ve been playing literally forever and I started back when RBI baseball and bases loaded we’re groundbreaking games On my Nintendo.

Are used to buy every single baseball game that came out every year and we compare them all and pick my favorite one. Do you think we have glitches now? Imagine having baseball players come up left-handed but have them be in the right handed box facing the wrong way. Then when you tried to take it back to the store they would not give you your money back!

Anyway, I am a closet player. I’m actually embarrassed to tell people I play so I never have anyone to share accomplishes with.

So all that said, are there any dads like me out there?

Man yeah I remember the first generic baseball game that came out on Nintendo...before RBI came out....not even sure if the players had names...I know the teams were generic...RBI was the [censored] when it came out-I was the top dog in my group of friends...used the Cardinals and would just run people off the field....back in the days when buddies actually were playing against one another on the same TV and console....unheard of today lol....yeah I’ve had every baseball game since...Baseball Stars was first one to keep stats....my wife gives me all kinds of hell for playing...have two ps4 at my house too...hell fighting over game time with my 10 and 13 year olds .....other than coaching my sons different sports playing the show about the only way I have left to compete at something....sucks getting old...sucks worse having to sneak around playing video games

How many posts do you need to make about the same thing? Who cares?

Yeah I’m in several custom leagues....have run a few....I could set it up if we have enough guys interested

Countering quick pitching is one thing. Intentionally holding R2 for as long as possible, even after the pitcher steps off once, is an exploit to mess with your opponent’s pitching. It’s a pretty cheap tactic which unfortunately has no counter.

LOL....dude...there is a difference between slowing the pitcher down/preventing quick pitching and straight up being an [censored] and trying to use it as a tactic to mess the timing of the pitcher up...it’s literally two extremes...

I’m not worried at all-it’s a video game-with bad online play….so commenting on the video game forum to see other people’s opinions/thoughts is kind of the reason for these forums I think? I know I have the choice to get game early or wait?? Thanks for reminding me I guess

Well I didn’t buy one of the Ducks BS packs first go around....decided to save those stubs to use for flipping....then my DA caved and bought one....you guessed it...should have just pulled out a $20 bill and lit that SOB on fire....

Yes on franchise mode. Before you proceed it’ll ask if you want to do automatic or fantasy draft I went with the Red Sox and it’s really fun. Drafted a lot of young guys

Me and my friends would get together and have a fantasy draft when I was in high school and college.
We’d pretty much sim until we had a head to head matchup. I can’t remember how we handled multiple game series, or how many games we picked to play through the season. It was a lot of fun, though.

This was back in 07, 08 lol. Mike Napoli was a maniac in that mode, and we didn’t quite know who he was yet.

I remember the old days when friends got together and actually played head to head on the same console and tv-in the same room-seems insane nowadays LOL!

If you were good you had to play about 4 games of people quitting pre 4th inning before you found those other rare good players. Why? Hitting a baseball is hard and your opponent knew there was no hand holding when your opponent is painting corners.

I remember when you could spam your opponents weakness. He cant catch up to fastball so he presses x every pitch release ?? Throw curveballs in the dirt until he LEARNS TO FIND A HITTING APPROACH.
Then he quits because he realizes he's not here to play baseball...he's here for his daily dopamine rush to hit homeruns...the only exciting play he knows in baseball.

So true-now it’s flip a coin-wait for which predetermined sequence/RNG disaster you will be granted today

LOL…picture this…family took a trip out of town this weekend and my son brought his PS4…so I’m in there with my dip at about 1am when everyone is sleeping trying to do the showdown on a 2004 model RCA hotel tv with molasses WiFi ….was literally swinging when he would raise his leg for windup 🥴

Yep, that's going to take a while.

If you play vs CPU with stacked DD team on one of the easier levels it won’t take too long….can get 7-8 hr maybe more per game…I hit 10 vs CPU on veteran first time….can use all Yankees and knock out the 1500 xp part of program at the same time while getting the home runs…hardest part for me will be the 16 SB seeing as how the cpu knows when you are trying to steal every time

Well it was just created last year. And the players league was huge success, so no reason to think it won't be back.

It's associated with DD not franchise. If it was associated to Franchise you wouldn't be able to create parameters for DD cards.

Most leagues don’t use DD teams-they use live rosters...regardless....it hasn’t been mentioned is my point...I meant to sarcastically say “other than the fact it hadn’t been mentioned...”my reasoning on why it likely isn’t going to be available on ‘21

I understand but what i'm saying is custom leagues is tied to DD and DD stream is 2 weeks away and nothing to suggest it won't be there. You may very well use LS players and that's fine. But there are paramers avaible when setting up league for use of DD players which associates it to DD and not Franchise. So why would they mention it b4 the DD stream?

Misunderstood what you meant...that makes sense...have just always associated online franchise mode with “franchise” game mode...custom leagues I guess different in the fact you can use DD teams...but custom league actually is located entirely separate area than DD is as far as the way the game modes are set up...

Agreed and I think in time they will branch off of it giving OFM it's own spot based off of same premise. If you look at everything they are doing, RTTS, Franchise, Ballplayer, Fielding and Hitting videos they mention "it's the foundation moving forward" and i think in the end every1 will be pleased with results.

They are alot smaller Developer team and can't do it as fast as ideas from Community brings it up. But the idea of all these pieces coming together looks to me like they are going in the direction people are asking.

But it gets blown out of proportion mostly due to players who are dedicated to one mode. And if something isn't implemented right away it's like the sky is falling for some people. This development team might be small but one thing i know they are frickin dedicated it just takes patience. I promise they hear you. And personally if they do something i would rather it be right than half @ssed and i think that is how they approach things imho.

Totally agree with you....sometimes we get hung up in our favorite aspects of the game...anticipate what will be new or improved upon in said mode and then overreact due to disappointment or frustration when we are let down....don’t get me wrong I’m guilty but not one of the extremist guys who say “I won’t buy it this year because....”I won’t kid myself to ever say that I’ve had every version of the show since it’s inception lol...hope you are right and they at least leave custom leagues since it’s the only way to play in leagues with friends etc....

Yep coming to a stop and trying to catch a popup....like riding a bull trying to hang in there sometimes....every fly ball is kind of scary honestly if it in involves any running to the ball whatsoever....horrible
