I think it’s a bit easier now with a smaller pool of players. Now it takes a while to find a game so I the matchup bar go all the way to the right. I find that you either get matched up with a stud who is well over 1000 and if you lose you don’t lose too many points but if you win you gain a good amount. Or it’s is someone who is at 400 or 700 who generally quit once they go down a run or two. Earlier in the game cycle you get matched up immediately and those games tend to be pretty tight and can go either way.

Still seems crazy that Mays, Gehrig, and Chipper don’t have finest flashback cards. Mays is at least in the argument for best player of all time and Gehrig is in the argument for best first baseman of all time.

If you have never read Ball Four by Jim Bouton it is a must read.
Yes! Thank you. I have had this saved on my Amazon list for years. I think it’s finally time to read this bad boy.
Oh that’s right. You heard me. I said “bad boy.”
Thank you!
The last best league is a great book that goes through a season in the cape cod league.
The rocket that fell to earth is good about Clemens. I believe this one is the same author as the bad guys book.

I think this would make a big difference in the game. The last time the game capped at 100 was 17 and its the last ttime most people feel the game was really good. The general feedback is the game plays well at release and then gets worse as the year goes on. I always wondered if that had more to do with cards above 100 messing things up. Was the game built for a 100 cap and then all of a sudden they went to 125 without changing much else. Is that why we see more off pci hits etc.

Harrison Bader is elite and definitely end game.
-
Postseason Kike Hernandez coming tomorrow. Diamond defense in nearly every position on the field and a great swing with close to maxed out hitting attributes. Not a huge name but this card was elite last year.

Didn’t they say something about the supercharged version of players being added to the postseason program after their team was eliminated? Doesn’t look like it’s happening or maybe I completely misunderstood what they posted.
DS program comes out on Friday.
Got it. Thanks. Wish the Yankees lost. I was loving that Bader card.

Shawn green and Steve Finley are both elite.

Pretty sure the Xbox one will run at a choppy 30 fps. Even if the PS5 controller isn't your thing, the game will be much smoother on PS5. Or maybe try to get a Xbox series x or S
Yea I was thinking about the series S.

I played on PS4 and ps5 this year and honestly there were aspects of the ps5 that I didn’t like. Something about the ps5 controller that just doesn’t feel comfortable and just the timing in general seemed off on the ps5. Ive seen a few posts and videos from people saying that in their experience the game plays better on Xbox vs ps5. More options for controllers and possibly smoother gameplay. I’m thinking of grabbing an Xbox for this years game. Does anyone have experience with both systems and any preference?

I feel like it’s a trend that will continue but extremely juiced up cards. I know there are always tons of 99s but it seems this years 99s blow away the same card from a few years ago. Compare this years joe Morgan to the Morgan from 19. Compare George Brett to the Brett of previous years. Even wade boggs. I know it’s tough on SDS because they don’t want to release the same card over and over and don’t want to make a card worse but we are probably just a few years away from Tony Gwynn with 125 power.

When I first seen this I thought you were asking about Paycheck Protection Program loans. I need to get a new job.
I applied for and received a PPP loan for my company. Then, I was able to file the paperwork to get the loan forgiven. I truly am a PPP expert. But not MLB the Show PPP expert.
Had all mine forgiven as well. Now just trying to get the ERTC.

Hopefully they release his best card early enough in the game cycle so he gets some play. Sometimes these cards that could be good come out so late that they get passed over. I know outfield is always more stacked than 2b but I didn’t even see many people using hank Aaron this year because he came out kind of late in the game cycle.

Here’s a little dose of reality, in 2019 the Kansas City Royals had profits that exceeded 251 million dollars. Do you have any clue what their payroll was. I’ll answer that, a little over 109 million. The owners of the royals pocketed 140 million
Just to be "that guy", profits are not sales. Sales were 251, cost 109, profit 142 ( if these numbers are accurate).
This is the benefit you get by having a CPA on the forum. I provide this service free of charge.
Not to be “that that guy” and I have no idea if those figures are accurate but if revenue was 251 and payroll was 109 there are many other expenses that would eat into that 142. Stadium lease, insurance, marketing, and tons of other costs. Again I have no idea if the quoted figures were accurate but my point is there is probably a ton of cost that goes into owning a baseball team.
Please be that guy, because the post you are referring to and others that I have seen seem to think that the owner just pockets that extra money. They never bring up that the extra money also has to covers stadium costs, salaries for vendors and ushers and ticket takers, all the staff from trainers and coaches to office personnel and groundskeepers. Every player in the minor leagues that is not a part of team salary computation. Starting this year they have to provide housing for almost all minor leaguers. Minor league facilities. The list probably goes on an includes a lot of expenses that we don't know anything about.
No, the owners are not saints and they do some shady stuff but in the end they are the ones taking the risks and footing the bills, while the baseball players money is risk free and guaranteed.
Good point and on top of it all, it comes to down to the value of the investment. It’s unlikely that somebody buying an mlb is just writing a check. They put together an investment group, took on dept etc. They paid a ton to get the franchise. If the CBA goes too far does that degrade this investment? Would they have done better investing in something else? Ultimately it’s a business and everyone is looking for a return on their investment. It’s nice to say the owners are making so many millions but what did it cost them to get that return.

He’s got a great cutter and I’ve always pitched well with his cards so I hope he comes back.
-
DiMaggio would be amazing. Hank Greenberg is someone nobody talks about but he would another Jimmie foxx type of card.
-
Based on his career he certainly should have had a higher card in the game. He could have easily had a card with contact well over 100, power at at least 90, decent speed, and diamond defense.

The event being built around central division and centerfield seems like Puckett would have been the obvious reward choice. Why would they even get the rights to him? Seems like whatever he did came out long before the game launched so they must have known.
For people who've gotten to World Series in Ranked
You think we will see any new cards in the Final Event tomorrow? If so, who?
