From what I can tell, that isn't the problem. I found many articles saying the same thing for the PS4 wanting them to dump the PS3 users.

It's a complete Madden/2K type desire to dump on anything not DD. It really is that simple. I am waiting at least one month into the game before I even think about getting. Perhaps I am being pessimistic, but you would think that if they have some major upgrades for the offline modes they would be advertising the heck out of it to get as many people to purchase right away.

The lack of any real news screams "cut and paste".

Josh appears to be more interested in stirring the pot than discussing baseball. Josh needs to go to Huffington Post, or some other political site.

@kcartledge Yes, it's real. I saw this and was beyond unhappy. Sadly, there were a ton of people very eager to cheat their way to victory knowing SDS will not punish them for it.

Props to the people who ripped on the people having trouble activating their cheatware. I can't post the link on youtube, but it is there, and people are using it.

I know for certain I played one person online in events. Was winning 3-0 in third inning. Guy had one flukey blooper for a hit at that point and could barely touch the ball. Suddenly he pauses the game and hits 4 consecutive no doubt home runs in a row and wins.

I know if you search for cronus on this site there is a post that had a link to the cheater showing how to use it, but I can't find it right now. It's from 20 or 21 if that helps.

@AngelTHeKiD928 They are at most a month from releasing cover athlete. From there it's final push to early access, followed by actual release. They are NOT going to fix this. I know it's horrible and it makes me not want to get 24 until I know what bugs it has, but that's the sad reality.

@Dolenz As a Cubs fan I never underestimate the Cardinals ability to make "Joe Nobody" into an above average player.

They certainly didn't do that for 23. Game had many, many bugs, some of them they never even bothered to fix.

I don't care what any of the white knights say. The game isn't that hard to create. Other than the rookies or any new former players they already have most of the players in the game, they just have to input the new ratings.

The only effort SDS puts into the game is to the benefits of the streamers (free advertising), the whales (lots of bonus coin in their bank) and the 1% with god reflexes.

Those who don't fall into this category can just "shut up and take it" in their eyes. The only people SDS hates more than them are the offline only. SDS literally gives them the finger every year by either doing nothing new with those modes or ramrods some new way to try and force them to DD where they hope to wring every last penny out of them.

If they still don't pay extra, they simply remove features or insert a game killing bug like RTTS pitchers had last year.

@fubar2k7 Or even just rotate images of cool moments in baseball during the year that the current version is for. Like the "in action" baseball cards of old. They would not even have to pony up extra money because the players are already paid for.

It really does not matter, but at this time of year it does generate interest. Maybe they could just design a logo for the game and use NO player and introduce every game as the show 20XX.

Either let the color scheme match your favorite team, or be an adjustable scheme if you don't like what colors they choose.

@AllRise99 Well I didn't say that has to be it, but if SDS could spare more than 5 seconds of prepping for DD 2024 they could at least find options, maybe not my suggestions, but someone possibly smarter than I am.

@AllRise99 I sometimes wonder if as your player gets better, and eventually becomes superman that the game has a way of nerfing the rest of the team so that a projected team won loss, or stats for the team balance out?

Not saying this happens, but it would make more sense in explaining for me going 4-4 in every playoff game, only to watch the rest of the team take the series off.

Everyone knows the answer. SDS is slowly converting to EA 2.0. Everything is eventually going to be monetized, and modes that don't maximize that will be abandoned.

@chucky97___ The only thing that will affect people from the cover is the color scheme. Last years was awful. I wish they would do like in 2020 when whatever favorite team you chose was your color scheme.

Edit. Meant the Jazz cover color scheme.

@fubar2k7 I hadn't heard about the Jeter responses, but I know a lot of people who feel he was overrated during his career. In the end, I rarely look at the cover once the game is purchased, so in the end it could be a player I hate and it won't matter.

@LuvMyXBOX They shouldn't. Just because he is a DH/pitcher doesn't make him the only special player in the game. It needs to go to someone new and established. The Jazz cover selection was disliked by a major portion of the community, and almost felt forced.

I suspect they had a couple of choices that declined late in the process.

@YOSHI24 I agree a lot of people don't work counts, but just because they don't, doesn't mean that they shouldn't be rewarded when they do. I started doing that before the 2020 server shut down, and while I was still struggling, added a lot to my team batting average, and at times was almost competitive with the 600 level players.

Maybe that's part of the problem. So many players swing at every pitch, knowing RNG will eventually reward them.

I don't think I would want that, but would be ok if it happens. I have been thinking about a lot of things since the server for 20 finally shut down. I don't know if I want to go back to online, but that's another story. I know injuries do happen, and I spent two times on the DL during my 21 version of RTTS, but they were just 14 day stints.

I would like to see possibly long term injuries, and maybe if you get a 60 day injury you go down to AA or AAA for a rehab assignment. Also you should see the AI injured players doing that too.

I also want to see slumping players get benched, or if you really struggle get demoted.

What I meant about 100 pitches, was pitchers throwing 100 pitches at 102 MPH in the game. Nobody can do that for an entire game. Ryan and Johnson seem to be the extremely rare exceptions.

OK, I used him as an example, but it seems like anyone with a meta pitch used by a weak player who can pitch but is a terrible online hitter will use that player and abuse the meta hoping that if they can luck into an RNG homer they can win 1-0.

FYI I just looked it up. Since MLB began tracking pitch speeds in 08 the record for a full SEASON is 392 by the Duran of the Twins. How do you expect me to believe that a pitcher can do 100 in just one game?

I find that in offline modes that is very much the case. Bronze tier pitchers with 59 control that can superdot at will, and have breaking pitches like in a bugs bunny cartoon.

The AI also appears to be very generous to itself by giving the AI pitchers a bigger strike zone. By this I mean that 99.9% of any pitch on the black is going to go their way, but the same pitch from you is going to be a ball.

I wish I could show a picture of it, but how many times have you thrown a pitch where 3/4 of the ball is in the zone, but called a ball, but when you come to bat the very next time and the AI throws a ball where at best one pixel of the ball touches the outside of the line is a strike?
