to monitor players... does it really make a difference?

Currently a championship player on a 2012 Samsung TV (had to settle, I've broken a lot of TVs) but I was thinking about getting a monitor. Is it worth it?
-
Yes, absolutely. Huge upgrade and you don't even need a good monitor to have a profound difference over TV.

thanks... been stuck at in the 750-850 range for a while with this tv. getting one asap.

@JakeTheSupreme said in to monitor players... does it really make a difference?: thanks... been stuck at in the 750-850 range for a while with this tv. getting one asap. The highest I ever got in 18 was about 890. That was the last year I played on a TV. Playing on a monitor was the main thing that pushed me over the WS threshold in 19.

Just enable auto aim and track pitch in settings. Its amazing.

Is it worth it? The difference for hitting is absolutely night and day. I've only gamed on a monitor for the last two years, but my PS4 was hooked up to my old TV the other day so I decided to take some at-bats for fun... it was absolutely hilarious how bad I was, and how late I was on EVERYTHING. I also use the Asus stuff, would highly recommend... and not that pricey. Honestly if you are CS on a TV you will be World Series in no time on a monitor.

Yeah man, big difference. My monitor is a Samsung 390 series 24” LED curved. It has a 4ms response time and 60 HZ refresh rate. And it works really well. I’m playing on HOF right right now and am usually early/very early on fastballs. Even when I play on legend offline I’m still early on the heaters. A lot of people recommend the monitors with 1 MS and a 144 HZ refresh rate but you can go with a cheaper option like the one that I have and still be very competitive.

People will tell u night and day going from a tv that came out in like 2012 to a monitor . How about a more up to date TV Can anyone tell me how big a difference it is going from a TCL 6 series to a monitor ?asking for a friend.

I have a tcl 43S525 and a acer vg271 and I don’t notice a big difference between them with my hitting. Either I’m on or I’m off, there’s no inbetween with me. I bought the monitor for my pc that I game on a lot not to replace the tv. I did use a old insignia 50 inch before I got the tcl and going from the insignia to the tcl was a huge difference. A newer good tv should do the job just fine. The problem I have with a monitor right now is the 4k ones are expensive for a good one. Ps5 is around the corner and buying a 1080p monitor now is kinda foolish unless you plan on keeping the ps4 for a few years longer.

I just bought a monitor ($300 price range gaming monitor) to see if there was a big difference from my fairly new (2019 model) samsung. I don't really notice any difference at all. PS4 is 60 hz refresh rate. Newer TV's with game mode have great latency time... so I think when people say "night and day" maybe they are referring to older TV's?

Check out Sceptre monitors. I have a 27" curved display that is great. Makes a huge difference

@joeythebigboss I looked it up and your TV does have probably the best input lag I've seen on a TV at like 11 ms but my TV is around 13-14 and I can definitely notice the difference on a monitor so I'm sure you would as well. its not going to be a omg this is night and day difference but it will be a whoa I used to be very late on that pitch and now I'm not...

Honestly unless it’s night and day I just don’t even know where I would put a monitor as it is I have no space in my room . My TV takes up enough space plus I like playing on a big TV 50+ Inches.

For sure , huge difference
