How to enjoy this game

SDS

You would think I’d have figured this out ages ago but here’s the thing.

The game is gonna do what the game is gonna do, and as we all have learned by now, much of the outcomes good or bad are beyond our control.

It really makes no sense to get tilted when the game is just doing what it has been programmed to do. It is not my fault when my outfield botches it, but somehow, I often take it personally.

I’m adopting the Hunter Pence approach from here on. If I’m back on here complaining after my next ranked game, you guys better call me out!

SDS

Hunter Pence is a good dude. He could teach a lot of people about patience and perseverance.

SDS

How to enjoy this game: swing very late at fastballs, too late at sinkers and very early on offspeed and breaking balls. Do not hit the ball well. Do not attempt to catch the ball with your diamond outfielders. Do not expect pitches to go where you aimed them, even with reasonably good input. Buy packs. Relax. Buy more packs or maybe some stubs and then some packs. Nirvana. ✌🏼

Clip or video of the Hunter Pence philosophy for those that didn't watch?

SDS

I actually lost an event game due to the outfielder not locking on. If he catches the ball I win 6-4, but no he doesn’t and I lose 7-6

This is the play in extras where his own guy lets the ball bounce off his chest to lose the game. This would have been the third out.

I mean, I totally get doing what you need to do in order to avoid frustration.

The problem is if everyone shrugs it off, there's no incentive for anyone to fix it and nothing will change.

Well, that is a legitimate point. I just don’t see much movement in that direction.

When mlb player after mlb player raises the same points we have all been raising in this forum with no comment at all from the developers, it doesn’t inspire much hope.

It just goes to show, SDS doesn't ask MLB players on how they can improve the game.

I've tried this. I can only take so many pitches down the middle. A few would be ok but it is 30 a game. Doesn't help that I get zero calls if the ball is touching the line but they are strikes against me.

You know, when I get like that I just have to turn the game off for a while. I feel you, but it is just not worth getting tilted.

SDS

I've played in moderation lately and I feel a lot better doing so. It helps reduce the tilt. Enjoying the new event since there is no Kluber spam, it's all offense and I love it.

Agreed. I played a few event games this afternoon and enjoyed it, won two, lost one. I felt super inspired after the second game where I had 12 hits or so, only to be two-hit in a ranked game. I’m not sure why it was so different, considering they were both on AS, but who knows? Connection quality maybe?

Anyway, yeah. After that I started getting that frustrated feeling so off it went.

Bout time you gave in there big fella.. First thread I've been in. Didnt see who started it, but it probably doesn't get any better going forward..I should log off no? 🤣 How you been..I was banned for dropping Gems. Trying to teach the flock not to be sheep..Shut me down. Lmfao. No bs. Scared to write anything other than the game and real life game. Sucks not having it. Wanted to see what Cole would do big stage. Guaranteed star..Ain't seen nada about Gerrit yet. Bro I never feel confident about one landing here..Should have been and players who were solid couldn't hack it. Hofers some. Then those who feast big situations. From Jeter ,Brosius, Justice had some big hits , Martinez, Giradi..Role players clutch. Some homegrown like Bernie Posada, Gardy mentioned ,Jeet again..One forgets Mike Stanton the catch having an amazing yankee renaissance run , the lefty arm of the same Mike Stanton getting clutch outs in big situations . Ramiro Mendoza getting 2 innings ..Being Mo Rivera was to John Wetteland in 95 and then best closer EVER run 20 seasons later..I could go.on Like Doc sniffing some HGH and Strawberry tasting WS in pinstripes as well. I hated when we traded Roberto Kelly..For Paul Oneil..What??? Stats of their careers at that time couldn't be any different. Kelly looking like a HOFer for 5 years here then Oneil stepping in and 50× upping him that people are like Roberto who? He was good here . Trust me..Unlike Randy Johnson and Kevin Brown. One Hofer and one who was on his way to probably old yella-ing himself out in Texas where the Hall was a given. Winning here and being a good player is a dream of every MLB hopeful.Either dreaming of doing it for NY or too..Looking at you Boston!!.
( Sorry [censored]. I was gone awhile..Back dropping Gems . Keep....it.... baseball... OG)

Best way to enjoy the game is don't play online, its glitchy, suffers from lags and it might give you a false sense of gratification that you're actually good at the game also it leads to hot pocket addiction.

SDS

Totally agree! It's just a game, it's going to do what it wants. Devs can't work properly because of pandemic, probably be stimulus devs released shortly.

Just relax and watch your fielders botch routine plays, don't take it so seriously. Instead of raging and complaining just buy some headliner packs.

Good to see some people have common sense in this forum.

Oh, I do. I started watching Homeland on Saturday and I am already almost through season 3. I would normally play video games during most of that time. Just can't stomach it. It isn't the hitting or fielding causing me to turn the game off, just the pitching.

Yeah, I feel that. For me, the strike zone (non-calls) and check swings that extend at bats are a big part of what hurts the gameplay.

They’re not called against you and not for you, dude stop with the conspiracy [censored]. Nobody gets corner or edge zone strikes. The game forces you to throw in the middle of the zone. But stop acting like you’re some unfortunate person getting screwed , it’s the same for all.
