Instantly outbid by one stub. Bots?
-
@NotesOfJohn_PSN when you outbid another buyer, are you seeing the previous bid disappear with no record of a sale? I see that at times, and I believe that is pretty evident of a bot. Especially on selling a card.
-
@Wilbs715_XBL No, that’s flippers canceling their order to go back to the front of the line. This can be done almost instantly on the app.
-
I think he's talking about placing a bid and it's instantly beat in less than a second.
-
It's annoying for sure. The way I approach the one up or down is to have a time limit before I think about relisting depending on how fast the card is moving. Sometimes it takes a bit to work through the queue. If you continously relist it destroys margins and it takes a while for margins to come back up again. I'm finding out patience is the best weapon against one uppers or downers. If you get mixed in with them you will always get frustrated. A card selling one per minute or little under is the sweet spot, a pretty decent spread with a enough movement to keep turning over cards.
-
@xRatedGProdigyx_PSN If I’m trying to buy a player, I put in a +1 bid and constantly refresh. The instant I see myself outbid, I 1 up until I get it. In between I cancel my previous orders. This can be done very quickly on the app. I’m not saying it’s not bots, but I think people underestimate people on this app.
-
I do that too, sometimes though...it's WAY too quick to be a human.
-
There are a lot of instances where it’s human, but I have run into cases where it had to be bots. But since they had the ban wave I haven’t seen it. And I’m still buying cards in quantities of over 15 at a time. But that’s like my opinion man.
-
I think it’s mostly humans, if I’m trying to buy a card or sell a card I have to stay on it and refresh. If someone outbids me I know they doing the same thing and it becomes a battle of who can stay highest or lowest bit until it’s sold. A lot of the time there are multiple people on one card, especially on a freshly dropped card with a lot of activity. Always been like that, I’m not saying some people don’t use some bs bot tech but most people don’t. It’s a big player base
I do this when buying a card too. Once you get TA's done and packs dry up, stubs are really hard to come by.
-
@SaveFarris_PSN ....GOT EEEM!
-
@xRatedGProdigyx_PSN Yep. Exactly this.
-
@SaveFarris_PSN Um, no, but nice try.
I hope it makes you feel better about yourself. -
For what it's worth if the market feels active and I want a card badly enough I'll specifically undercut by 2 or 3 stubs instead of the "standard" 1 stub. I'm sure many others do the same. It often keeps me from putting an equal bid in at the same time as someone else.
-
If that happens to be repeatedly I just buy now, I need degrom to finish Jackie collection and this happened for like 5 mins. I just paid the 7k extra to be done with it
-
Lol it’s 100% bots and one of the easiest things to code.
-
@NotesOfJohn_PSN Sure there probably bots but there are also a lot of people buying and selling items at the same time so (for example) it is not that odd that your new sell orders gets underbid very quickly.
-
Man I’m trying to flip bronze cards rn why are margins god aweful. First year flipper btw so is it in anticipation of Friday’s collection or smt or due to yesterdays flash sale?
-
@Onix_Savage22_PSN Because there’s no content, everyone blew their stubs during the flash sale, so everyone is trying to flip.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN ahh ok this makes sense I’ve never flipped till this year so I thought I’d come here to get a answer.
-
At least for me it’s been a terrible year for flipping. It’s hard to find many good spreads and anything remotely good looking is filled with people and or bots
-
@HuckTheFuskers3_XBL I’ve only been in bronze cards I don’t rly know or haven’t tried anything else.
