What is this cheating meta?
-
I just talked to a content creator on twitter who explained it to me. Evidently there is some software you can use that basically plays for you & plays perfectly. He also said it’s becoming common & it’s not hard to get.
Well we can only hope SDS have an answer soon. This does make me feel better about giving up 14 consecutive hits the other day though.

I saw a vid for this on my FB feed the other day…tragically pathetic.

Folks, gaming consoles connected to the internet can be hacked the exact same as can a PC. Consoles are in fact PC's. The only reason why they got developed is it gave the creators of games a uniform system configuration. Game code can be downloaded, decompiled, and either changed or at least exploited in the creation of cheats that allow gamers advantages that cheat the setup.
It's not just MLB The Show that has this problem. I play 2K PGA Tour 25, and all the time I see folks play a round where they hit balls into a sand trap, the rough, or even water, and their next shot is magically on the green or in the fairway! They also routinely nail putts over 30 feet, and hole chips from off the green from 50 yards away. They are obviously using cheats to manually amend the starting point of a shot without penalty being applied, and also use cheat codes that provide feedback on the "perfect" shot that they can then replicate.
With MLB The Show, the obvious avenues of cheat code is to reveal the precise location where a pitch will cross the strike zone, as well as artificially enlarge the PCI for the bat.

Unlike all the “I played a cheater” threads in years passed, people actually are this year. It’s just kinda hard to tell because even when they cheat The Show is like “that’s baseball”
Apparently some pitchers somehow aren’t updated for the scripts all the time. So when you face a cheater and bring in certain pitchers they all of a sudden can’t swing after scoring like 7 P/P homeruns in a row. Pretty funny tbh. Still haven’t faced one so I doubt it’s as common as people say but I have seen pretty wild clips.

I heard if you use a submariner the cheating programs don't work for that so atleast they'd have to be able to hit your Tyler Roger's. Just leave him in I guess for 100 pitches

I played like 3-5 people last year that I legitimately thought were cheating and I had a ton of games last year. Easily surpassed that number already in like 10% of the games.
You've likely faced someone with one of the cheats. The chronus pitching isn't as obvious but plenty out there. Pretty prevalent so far this year.

I’ve looked into this extensively. A lot of the marketing for this is bs. You need a capture card, a PC that isn’t trash, and a couple other pieces of hardware I won’t mention. A CZ on its own does very little for hitting. Pitching is a different animal. But, to be honest with you I don’t find pitching to be hard on this game. I’ve played a couple of guys who hit p/p every pitch in the zone. Every single one. Was something hinky? Yeah, I just quit out took the L and moved on.
-
@The412Smoke_XBL they can't figure out how to take shrinking pitches out of their script...you really think they'll figure this out?
-
Get a PS5 and turn off cross play. Problem solved. XBox is for cheaters.
-
How bad is your life if you are cheating on a baseball game for no money but virtual cards that don’t even matter if you have them because the cheating software doesn’t need the top cards. There are so many brain dead people stumbling around in this world.
-
@DemIsE4_XBL That’s sick bro it just wouldn’t be possible for me to care less and take your opinion less seriously than I already do. Unless we make it to like Demise5 and MinevilleMafia37
-
@theBlindRhino_PSN I don’t think it’s an option to turn off cross play in MLB 26
Edit: my bad, didn’t see it until now
-
@The412Smoke_XBL it's on Nintendo switch as far as I'm aware. I disabled cross play on xbox and haven't faced a cheater again.
In the weekend classic I definitely played a cheater on switch, the first 5 pitches I threw were all perfect perfect hr. I then proceeded to throw down and in sliders every single pitch for the remainder of the game and they swing at every single one and didn't get a single hit for rest of game.
-
@MiJuJuKaLa_PSN ngl I don’t know where this option is on PS5
-
@On_a_Power_Trip_PSN top left corner from menu screen I think.

Let's be careful not to talk about specific tools and methods here. We don't want to make it any easier for people to do this than it already is.
-
If you play Apex Legends it has been known for years that people are using certain tools for perfect aim. People were slow to admit it was possibly happening on MLB, but I have suspected it for a couple years.
Glad it is finally coming to light.
-
All I know is when you get around the 1,000 mark in ranked seasons and every swing your opponent has is a perfect perfect, if you throw backdoor sliders their cheats don’t work and they have to shut them off and play normal.
That is why you hear your friend Kyle and all those guys complaining about sliders.
-
It’s actually hilarious watching the terrible swings their cheats put on low and inside sliders magically after everything was mashed perfect perfect in any other part of the zone.

Funny story, I actually was banned on these forums for two years for bringing up that people were cheating back in 2022.
Around the same time before I got banned I argued with people on this forum that Trevor Bauer may have been innocent and I was also correct about that.
