Sometimes, the best points of disgust for your product come in YouTube comments! Here's mine. Take it seriously.

I used to spend hundreds of hours, in create-a-player, with my custom music, stadium music, etc. I had effing Chevy Chase's Fletch as a Dodger (there's photos of him with Lasorda, both wearing the uniform)... Harold Faltermeyer's music when he walked up to hit, various tracks when he hit a homerun, yadda yadda... Then it was all obliterated.
And now 100% of us who created players, carried them over, year-to-year, have quit, because they dropped franchise saves, while they only keep the logo vault, which is full of vile [censored].
They're losing a BIG chunk of REAL baseball fans.
Now I'm going to go post this on their sorry [censored] forums. Few of us wanna listen to modern rap, nor do we want to be inundated with motown [censored] 24/7.
You know, they could write their own soundtrack... even use some of the songs that play during the games, which are licensed, but they're nowhere to be found.
User reviews on this game continue to plummet, year-to-year. I don't know whom is [censored] up, but they need to turn it around.
Konami's rocking ProSpirit on Steam now, free-to-play, and with modding, there will be no need to invest in MLB The Slow anymore.

They have server metrics to see how many players they’re gaining/losing and how many hours each player plays.
Tough talk on the boards doesn’t carry as much weight as you think it does.
-
The problem is there is no incentive because they have no competition.

No, There is no MLB video game competition so that statement is incorrect.
-
@Tandil1368_XBL Yeah, you got it right!... no competition, blame that on Manfredfucks
-
@Tandil1368_XBL Yesh, you are incorrect... no [censored] they lack competition, blame that on Manfredfucks
Censored and added a curse word at the end of Manfreds name and you are the one always complaining about inappropriate content in the game.

-
@Dolenz_PSN Man, you're always a pain in the [censored]. Tell me you don't [censored] curse, ever.
-
Seriously, that guy lives on here... why am I not surprised he's got a Cardinals logo? lol
-
MLB also has to renew is contract with SDS for them to be able to keep making this game. We have seen competition in sports games before, and it always results in one game surviving because it is the best.

Sorry man…I always respect your takes- but this one in particular is false. There’s no baseball competition for them. The Show is going the same direction EA’s NHL series is: They’re half-arsing because they know there’s no other game in town.
-
@TheRupster12_XBL I loved it when we had half a dozen to choose from. I bought everyone of them! Each had something different to offer. Now, we get ... one. And there's a second, it's not licensed. It's all homogenized. Well, [censored] it. When GTA VI finally hits the market, no one will give a [censored] about this or any other game, movie, album, book, funeral, wedding, etc.
-
@Sarge1387_PSN You know it's bad when XBOX players have been shitting on it for the last three years.

Non-sequitor.
That's like saying car companies compete with bakeries. Yes, both are in business and both rely upon a finite number of customers. But, by all definition of competition, those two are not in competition with each other. Likewise, someone in the market for an RPG shooter game isn't simultaneously seeking out a baseball video game.
The lack of innovation by SDS with their once premier title is driven by lack of competition. Why do you think Bill Gates financially bailed out Apple? He said it plain. He knew that Apple was a prime competitor with Microsoft, and as such he knew their existence forced everyone at Microsoft to work harder and better.
No amount of managerial motivation can compensate for a lack of competition in the market. But, when the management leverage the lack of competition, then things drop to their lowest levels. That is the situation at SDS.
-
Car Companies don't compete with bakeries. But they do compete with airlines, Amtrak, public transit, and bike manufacturers.
SDS (and Sony) are in the business of attracting eyeballs (and the revenue one makes from the attention economy.) Even if they're the only baseball game in town, if they don't generate enough attention they go out of business.

I see both sides. SaveFarris' list is not direct competition on the baseball front but it is list of competitors for our free leisure time. But we all know what is meant when others here say that this game has no competition. It is a very narrowly scoped view of playable MLB baseball games (which discounts the likes of Out Of The Park Baseball (not playable) or Super Mega Baseball (not MLB although they do have some former players)).
That said, going back to SaveFarris' comparison, I will say that I don't even expect MLB The Show to be my most played game in March. I expect that will be Crimson Desert for me.

You are being stubborn trying to defend an indefensible position. You doing it out of boredom, or do you really believe what you're writing?
