Theme teams for 26
-
Plz let us change team affiliations.
I’m not saying let me make Aaron Judge a dodger for fun but what I am saying is if a player has played for that team then can I for theme teams change their team affiliation of the card to fit that captain boost.
Example- The Phillies have a TON of great lefties in their modern day lineup and history but I’m not trying to run an all lefties team. Harrison Bader is now a Gaint, can I play change his team affiliation so I can add 1 more righty bat to even out the lineup. Or at the end of the year can I change the 99 Billy Wagner from an Astro to a Philly and Jeff Hoffman to a Philly, to fit the theme team and help the bullpen.
Unless captains are better throughout the year PLZ make this change so more diversity and fun can be added. I remember in 24 the Corbin speed team T2 and Phillies theme team T2 was really fun and actually a good team. Add this with the team affiliation changes
! Could go hard, just sayin. -
Every card probably doesn’t need this option, but cards covering entire careers (HoF, Signature, Career Milestone) should be given an option to choose the team affiliation, even if it’s a one time choice. As a Cardinal fan, I was so hyped when Rolen got announced, then he never got a Cardinals version. After what Pujols tweeted, I’m starting to get scared we are only getting an Angels version of him.

Well, the trailer showed him as a Cardinal. My guess is his 99 is a Cardinal but it will probably be a collection. If not then SDS has lost the plot completely.

@Dolenz_PSN
Ah yes Sonny Gray in a Red Sox uniform pitching to Albert Pujols in a Halos uniform. Great realism.
Edit: how ironic, a former Cardinal vs. a former Cardinal -
I would rather them just up the card quantity a bit to make sure theme teams are viable.
I'm not opposed to the idea, as long as it doesnt result in less cards. I've been asking for a Henderson Mets card, but I wouldnt just slap an As card onto the theme team even if I could.
If you have a 99 Manny on the Rays is it really a theme team anymore though?

@Dinger_Dan19_PSN A good way to do this would be:
Example: A Dodgers Mike Piazza card counts as a half a player for the other team’s he played for player requirements and he only gets half the boost.
This would greatly expand team themes and help with lineup variability.
Unfortunately, they seem to be going the opposite direction. Theme teams were awful last year.
