The thing with that though is it is way too early to give that to Kurtz or Yesavage, neither has even played a full season yet. They also probably choose the cover athlete months in advance, so Yesavage and Kurtz probably wouldnt have broken out at that point

In a World Baseball classic year where MLB will want to push the global appeal I just dont see a Nick Kurtz or Schwarber type on the cover. Acuna could work.

Also in regards to the wbc it could be a Japanese player like Yoshinobu Yammamoto seeing as he had a great year. And last wbc year it was jazz on the cover.

Acuña definitely has the name for sure, but his stock has fallen a bit the last two years. Would be good for the game overall for a star like him to get back to his prime 2023 form.

Personally I would love to see more legend covers.

Acuna's cover should have been a couple years back, after one of his only 2 seasons (out of where he played more than 120 games.
