100% agree. Add in gameplay being inconsistent as ever and besides looking good this years game is a frustratingly broken mess.

My biggest take from this for next year: Go after the gate-keepers first. Then „the next wave“ (we knew, Tatis was having a very good first month) … I bought my last gate-keeper as my very last card and luckily got him (Witt) for 190K (and Judge 236K prox 5 days ago)

Ditto. I nabbed Witt in the 170’s, Judge around 230, and Ramirez a little under 120. I decided to strike during the Diamond Flash Sale to take advantage of the seller wave. Glad I did. Overpaid early for Trout at 160 then bit the bullet on Ohtani at 480 to finish, all NMS.
I about sh!t when I saw the prices yesterday! For once I feel like I did this right!
On the flip side, I’m sick of the [censored] market.

@Alaric919_PSN I really ask myself. Why are people „mad“ about the market. Do we really need every card in early May?
I give two examples:
- LS Collection and every collection done
- gives you Clemens, Beltran, Hodges and Rolen (to name to most significant ones)
- If you do not have any of these (which lots of people do), you could have
- Cueto, Santander, Egg-PCA, Big Papi and some 3B you like (I have Hodges over there, if I wouldn‘t I would play JRAM … or just Elly over there).
- Santander can play RF
- Clemens gives you 1/5 starts and Beltran can only bat once … Yes, 1 is better, but is not having Clemens/Beltran really THAT bad? I do not think so. Is 1 better? Yes, absolutely .. But nothing to cry about since skill matters more than cards
EDIT: I am hitting .200 with Beltran and .280 with PCA

100%. And for me, that gate has turned into "The Wall" from Game of Thrones. 700 feet tall and 300 miles long.

@MarioMendoza935_XBL I get gatekeepers being expensive. They always are. But thus year the balance between gatekeepers (4 of the now) versus other diamonds are insane. I would have to pull over 200 Younts from a HL pack to one of tbe gatekeepers. I have 5 will Smiths, and I would have to pull 185 more of him for Ohtani. My issue is there is no middle market. You either pull one of the four big diamonds and every diamond that is not those is basically going for QS. There has to be better balance with stubs, especially with nerf QS of uniforms.

@YOSHI24_XBL I've started focusing more on the other collections. Honestly I like my team as is and probably would not even use Judge or Witt. Ohtani would be a filler for the rotation. But you are correct, you can outfit a pretty nice team with those other collection and the free program cards.

The keep having flash sales. We need a 90+ live series flash sale. Wishful thinking but it would drive prices way down. We probably won’t see those packs until late into the game cycle when everyone has them anyway. I guess there’s only 3 90+ right now anyway. Maybe an 89+

Pretty much. The greed keeps hitting new level. Started with a pretty hard shift in 23, worse in 24, and 25 has continued the trend.

I think the issue isn’t that the gate keepers are expensive, they’re supposed to be. It’s that they keep rising, and not by like 10k, but by like 50-100k. Most of us will never pull shohei and even if we open a lot of packs, however the grind just keeps getting harder. Mentally if you know he’s 450k and you know you have to grind to get that, you do what you have to, the problem is how it’s just keeps inflating, so you get the 450k and now he’s 600k, and this makes grinding feel like you’re doing nothing but chores and not enjoying the game.

@Jcassaro44_MLBTS The problem was that people are getting less packs at the end of the 2nd inning AND having the attributes update, where lots of players made a lot of stubs. That leads to more stubs in circulation, which leads to higher prices … We will have more rare guys come the weekend-classics and 3rd inning… also wait out the end of the multiplayer program, where many players will get a 50 bundle … Right now the best advice is to stay calm and save your stubs. Right now this is just too many variables at once.

Yes, that’s a huge part of it. The solution is simply releasing more of the gate keepers in packs to bring the prices back down into a reasonable range.
That doesn’t mean just giving out more free packs in game because all know the current odds are we have almost no chance of pulling them. Unless they release some packs with guaranteed high diamonds.
Otherwise the odds need to be increased drastically to get people engaged again. Bump diamonds to 8%, at least temporarily, like they do late in the game cycle. Put those high diamonds in at least 1 in 50 to 1 in 75 packs minimum and I guarantee it would go a long way.
Feeling like the grind is pointless and hopeless is not the way to go for the long term viability of the game.

This is crazy. I thought I overpaid for Judge at 230K but his price tag is now ridiculous. Ohtani’s too.
There’s no way I’ll grind DQ to 550K stubs. Something has to be done.
