So are Programs dead? it's now fully pay to win?
-
@energystar157 No, your not. There is like 4 of you guys that won’t pay for PS+ but play the online content of a video game because you’d rather wait for the Devs you won’t support to release cards through programs you could literally just go add to your team offline.
If only we were all this smart.

Here is the thing programs will be shorter and quicker this year because all last year people complain it was to grind heavy so don't expect anything to involved this year
-
@flamexJD20 it’s been out for 8 days dude.
-
Its totally been out for 3 weeks....if there were 3 days in a week.

3 weeks

Personally, I think this yr's version is less PTW than ever before. With the addition of cornerstone captains, and team captains, u can put together some great hitting lineups without having to spend much stubs at all. I made roughly 220k just from grinding everything.
Hitters: I purchased Baez and Willie Castro.
SP: I purchased Donaldson, Santana
RP: Purchased Bautista, Hader, and Andrew Miller.Captains, I chose a Buxton Build. I took Adam Dunn and Bard. Filled my team with the best possible Buxton hitters.
The only players worth it from P2W is Babe and Pedro. That's it, imo.
So no, I don't feel the game is p2w this year. -
The MLB season hasn't even started yet! (Except for two teams, of course)

Sorry, but if it's like last year's egg hunt, I don't really consider it a program. Anyone who doesn't play on-line can't possibly complete it. Really goes against the "play how you want" talking point.
That said, if this all didn't make them more money last year (just like this same strategy makes EA more money), they wouldn't be repeating it this year. So, for better or worse, this is clearly the game the user base wants, voting with their wallets.
Egg hunt was easy last year. And i don't play online either. It was like hit a HR in Ranked, BR, Events. Get a couple wins in BR/Events. There's nothing to spend stubs on. It's really not that hard to go online and hit a fluke HR or to even win a game. May take a few games to actually do it, but not hard. Hardest part of Egg Hunt last year was knowing what actually counted. And there were like a million videos all over the internet after day 1.
You and I define "don't play on-line" differently. I don't give Sony money for PS+, therefore I don't play on-line. And I'm not alone in that.
This means you only play franchise and RTTS with the base roster at launch and don’t do any programs. Which makes one wonder why you care about a post about lack of programs?
Nope. You can play DD without PS+. Just not BR, RS, Coop or Events.
So this game lets you play DD without PS Plus. Something you cannot do with the other sports games online modes as far as I know. Sounds nice.

If you’re offline only? You burned through it too fast. Otherwise there are Online modes to use all of the cards you unlocked. Lol

@BJDUBBYAH
If offline players are bored SDS says you can always play online or drop a few hundred dollars on packs while waiting.

How many hours have you logged?
-
No idea. I try to log on daily but I’m in the boat of only being able to play a good amount on weekends and very little on most weekdays. I just finished the offline programs, have no interest in online, and no interest in spending stubs on packs so I’m in a holding pattern. Flipping a bit for peanuts and waiting for the next program to drop. I don’t mind a slower burn but the cpu pitching , daily xp cap, and overpriced packs have me pretty annoyed much earlier than usual this year.
-
@TripleH-4481 Sorry to hear that, I definately understand your sentiment. There's programs on the horizon

Oh I know and I’m not totally put off just a bit discouraged is all. This game can be a lot of fun but early game it’s all about being patient and not being tempted to dump loads of money into the game for the newest shiny toy. I’m sure online players love the early game cycle but offline gamers get a lot more out of late game when cards are more affordable and flipping is plentiful.

I am not sure you can say it's more or less so far cause the game has only been out like 13 days ( including Early Access ) so it's to early to make this statement. I think the issue is I agree they might have made the content a tad to easy to burn through like TA. I am not saying they need to double the time it takes but maybe 15 to 25% longer would be nice.

@MarineSpartan44 I cannot take this thread seriously if you pretend the game is out for 3 weeks …
