The knuckleballer

Let’s just put this to rest. It isn’t a strategy, it is cheese. The only people who do this and call it strategy are garbage at this game.
And joshjays, if you see this, this post is about online play, we do not require your input.

Hot stinky cheddar

I was surprised we didn't see Niekro and Tiant at all last year. Let's hope they continue that trend, I certainly don't miss them.
-
It is completely cheese but the good thing is if you see him in someone’s bullpen you know you are playing somebody who probably stinks so just play your game and take the easy win.

They should change his knuckleball to knucklecurve just for the sake of DD. I know it’s not 100% realistic altering someone’s pitch repertoire but neither is how effective he is at throwing it.

Why Knuckle curve and not sweeping curve or 12-6 curve? A Knuckle curve isnt a type of knuckle ball at all. It is a curve ball with less break and more speed than most curves. One of the farthest things from a KB.

Well a curve with 2700+ rpms is actually about as far from a knuckleball as you can get.

Everyone here always say that rookie difficulty is so easy. Well guess what, the computer on rookie crushes knuckleballs. So by logic it must mean they are not that good.

I literally just played someone who had a World Series nameplate and they brought in Steven Wright. If WS players are using them, I think it’s within reason that scrubs can cheese all they want with them. Or anyone for that matter.
-
How is it cheese though? I have faced a guy twice who used a knuckler, both times I rocked him. I have seen people on Twitch light up knuckle ballers too. I wish my opponents would use one every game, haha.
-
Anytime someone brings in a knuckleballer all you have to do is switch to directional hitting just for that pitcher. Fight cheese with stinkier cheese. He should be out within the end of the inning.

Because the way the knuckleball moves is not realistic at all. High, low, middle, all of them have the same movement and none of them float. Additionally, a knuckleballer doesn’t know where the pitch is going to end up - he’s never aiming for a certain spot. Finally, knuckleballers rarely use pitches besides it because their 80 MPH fastballs usually get lit up by professional hitters. In the game, guys will throw a wide mix of pitches alongside the knuckleball.

I don't know, I have never seen anyone get any success by using a knuckle baller. They get lit up. If you are getting owned by one than all the more power to your opponent.

I wish they brought in all the knuckleballers.. give me Dickey, Niekro, Wakefield and Charlie Hough.... learn to hit it. Knuckleballer have always been part of baseball

This thread should have the caveat that before you post a comment, you have to say whether or not you use knuckleballers.

Did you ever see Rivera ever throw a slider?
That's on his pitches haha
