Bottom line is the someone at SDS messed up. The player base did not. I don't get a paycheck from SDS. It's not my job to recognize when someone in their office dropped the ball. If I push the quick sell button does the TOS say I should wait until SDS fixes their mistake?
This is a major game that pulls in tons of money and it's clear the entire company will take weekends off together. Otherwise Sammy's post wouldn't have been up for four days They should consider their mistake today a make up for all the co-op freezes and all the mini-season restarts we have had to just...I dunno...deal with.
If someone looks at those of us that quick sold and truly thinks they deserve any kind of ban then for your sake I hope you get your wish. But it'll mean less interaction. Longer waits when playing online. And less movement in the market.
It also meant a lot of extra stubs for whoever did quicksell. Giving them an advantage over anyone who did not… it’s a clear violation of the terms of service. Mistakes happen. That doesn’t mean people should go out of their way to cash in on them. -

Right from the terms of service at https://theshow.com/mlb-the-show-online-code-of-conduct/
You may not cheat, exploit or use any bugs, glitches, vulnerabilities or unintentional game mechanics in PlayStation Network or any of its products or services to obtain an unfair advantage.
They probably won't ban anyone for this, but you never know. Just fair warning.
I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but don't want anyone to get hurt, either.I get what you’re saying but in this case it’s a bug from their update. The individual users are not necessarily doing anything to glitch or exploit the game. Like I only found it because I wanted to sell some duplicates and the app was filtering random common cards to the top of my inventory
You do understand what they mean when they say “USE any bugs or glitches” right? In this case it’s a bug from their update…. Ummm yep which people are using lol…

No. Explain it to us. You seem to be so enlightened. What is your interpretation of exploiting a bug? We really care about your opinion.

Is it normal that everything shows up like it normally would for me? I dont see anything out if the ordinary

Man this got contentious rather quickly. Personally, I don’t care what others do but I am always leery when I see major market discrepancies. I know stubs are at a premium this year but flipping has just gotten good. I’ll just go that route- it’s basically my alternative for a fidget spinner or something to keep my hands occupied when bored at work. I work at a desk for a packaging company. I get bored a lot.
Also, do you all think the show runners changed their mind last minute for the ending of Game of Thrones? It felt rushed. If I’m gonna get banned, it better be for an awesome show like GOT as opposed to Friends. Ok, I like Friends.
What were we talking about?

If anyone needs to be banned, it's people that keep making these ridiculous mistakes. Double text on mission lists. Invalid roster errors. Destroying the market.
Ban them from the SDS office, because it's getting embarrassing. Do they even test any of these updates before pushing them out?
I know right. Does this company take pride in their work? The development team needs an update.

GOT was awesome until the last season, can we have a do over on that? Honestly still a bit bitter on how GOT ended but House of dragons was great in its first season.

Do you guys know anything about software development and how complex testing is? I suppose no. Bugs are part of every software there is on the market. Google has lots of bugs, MS too and so does SDS … But (and that is important): Accepting faillure and try to be better next time … that is the real way to look at it (blaming is the other … it usually won‘t help). To get back on that: I do not remember this kind of error in the last few years … And I think, it won‘t happen again

This 1000%. No software is bug free. Inadvertent issues happen when changes are made to software. Sometimes they affect things that you would never expect. There is no possible way to test every scenario in your test cases. We execute 1000's of test cases and that number grows with each release, still bugs are found. Fixing bugs is just part of the software development lifecycle.

its refreshing to read sensible posts - this board has cleaned up a lot over the years - of course there are still nutjobs on here or immature kids but thank you for being the voice of reason here

If exploiting a bug is a ban then surely they would have to ban everyone using the Ohtani glitch in ranked
Which Otani is this?

its way more then 100-200 people just saying. Its been on twitch all morning. This spread across the whole community.
How many people of the millions of sds customers do you think watches twitch all day long? You’re right it’s more than 200
But I’d say it evens out to about 1000
And I don’t think sds has an issue banning 1000 people- and that’s even saying every single one of the 1000 twitch viewers did it.
If half of them(500) did this I can see sds banning 500 ppl no problem
They know the banned customers are just going to start all over again and spend even more money anyway
Banned users can't just purchase the game again, they will be banned from online play for the rest of the year.
The only way around it is to purchase the console you weren't on before (PS/XBOX), buy the game, and create a new account.
It was easily thousands of people that did it. Just look at the buy now/sell now orders in the market.
I never said buy the game again- I said start over meaning they will start from scratch and if you think they are grinding from scratch and won’t buy stubs to get things done quicker then idk what to tell you
And if you think sds won’t ban 1000 people for making the company lose money then idk what to tell you either lol
Millions of people buy this game- banning 1000 wouldn’t hurt them at all
But as the kids say, “do you”…
Just something I wouldn’t do at all- this is something that sds would def ban ppl for because it makes them lose money and it’s in the tos “don’t exploit bugs”
You can't start from scratch on your console when you are banned. It's a console ban every time. It's a huge risk for both sides. Those quick selling cards, and SDS who may potentially destroy the game population for the rest of the year.
If I sell 10 common cards and get banned. I'm not buying an Xbox and another copy of the game. I'm just not playing the game the rest of the year.
Lol you don’t get console banned- you get account banned.
Console banned might be for multiple infractions.
It's absolutely console banned for market manipulation. I followed multiple streamers who got the ban hammer last year for this type of thing. One guy bought an Xbox and STILL couldn't play online until this year. (Big Tom)
It's not worth the risk either way IMO.
Sounds like you are describing an account ban.
I'm old enough and smart enough to know what I'm talking about bud. I'm also not here to convince some random guy on the internet.
Simply a warning that I don't believe it's worth the risk. But you do you!
Why mention that the streamer even bought an XBox? What relevance would that have if it was a console ban?
because....stay with me here quick draw...the streamer played on a playstation and his console was banned for market manipulation. Hell, go to his channel and ask him. He's live right now.
Okay genius...
"One guy bought an Xbox and STILL couldn't play online until this year."
If it was a console ban. He could have played on his new XBOX. If it was an account ban and he tried to use his account from PS on his new console it wouldn't work. If the guy had an IQ above 100 he would have created a new account instead of trying to see if a new console would work and then waiting a whole year.
OK Genius, he was a playstation user prior to the ban. Again, feel free to hop on his channel and ask him. BigTomK, streams every morning on youtube.
I'm sorry you were wrong, it's ok to be wrong, certainly don't keep up the argument, just move on with your day.
It is clear you are not intellectually honest or don't understand the difference between console bans and account bans. Either way it is not my problem. I don't watch Twitchers but I would certainly not watch one you recommend. Either way it's not my problem.
He's on youtube. "I don't or wont watch" is an easy way to pretend you are still correct. He will be on all morning tomorrow, go ask him. Not doing so simply shows that you realize you might not always be correct about everything in life. Difficult pill to swallow, but it's a big part of growing and becoming a better person.
See you there!
